Praxis Core Exam Analysis

Exam Requirements

It is required for me to pass the Praxis Core Exam, which is the academic skills test for

educators, in the state of Nevada before I can be accepted into the education program at

UNLV, for my Bachelors degree in Education. I will need to take this test at one of the testing

centers in Las Vegas. And then give my passing scores for Praxis Core in Nevada for Math,

Reading, and Writing. If I fail a portion of the test, I can retake the test after 25 days of the

previous test date.

Exam Preparation

I prepared for this test by reading about the exam and going over the practice questions

for math and writing offered online at ets.org and www teacherstestprep com. These questions

and reviews are similar to the test questions that I needed to know to be successful in the test

taking portion. I did all of the practice questions and reviewed the answers for the math, reading

and writing thoroughly prior to taking the practice exam. I was able to comprehend the ideas of

written work Unfortunately, the test was much more difficult than I anticipated.

Exam Results

My results proved that I would still need a little studying prior to taking the finally Praxis

exam, even though I thought I would have scored lower in math and writing I was higher in both

areas then in the reading section. My scores were as follow: 90% in math, which means I am
likely to pass the actual test. In reading I am a70% and again I need improvement in that section

if I am going to pass the official test.

Future Exam Preparation

In order to ensure I pass the Praxis with higher score, I plan to purchase an online program to
help me prepare for the test, along with studying a bit more. I will also plan to take a couple
more practice test so that I am able to better familiarize myself with the testing questions. I will
also review the study sections for math as well, to make sure I will pass the test the first time.
The best step for me is to study and practice the test contents so I can make sure I completely
understand all areas of the test' I think this will guarantee the success in passing this required test'
