Multiplying and Dividing

Grade: 3rd Grade

Subject: Mathematics

Length of Lesson: 1 hour.

Lesson Overview/Rationale: Students will increase their knowledge in the math subject by learning how
to multiply and divide. Students will work with groups of two and as a class.

Promethean board

Materials:

Dry erase boards


Dry erase markers
Multiplication cards
Division cards

Procedure:

I will present and explain the concept of multiplying and division on the promethean board.
Students will get into groups of two.
Students will practice multiplication and division cards together by writing their answers on white
boards.
Students will then check their answers and help their partners in mistakes theyve made.
Assessment:

I checked for understanding for going around to each group and reviewing the cards with
students.
Each student then has to go on the promethean board and do a multiplication or division problem
and explain to the class how they got the answer.
