Sample questions (PAT) Print the square root sample questions from the
subject bulletin (Appendix 1)
PROCEDURE
1. PAT Questions and Discussion
Review how to do the following:
o Square roots and squares (visual)
o Square roots of perfect squares
o Square roots of fractions
o Square roots of non-perfect squares
Pass out the Part A sample PAT questions
Have the students try the square root questions in pairs and then talk about them as a class
Ask students to explain them for me
REFLECTION
I went over a few examples and then handed out the sample PAT questions. The students seemed to
appreciate having a look at the types of questions that they will be asked. I think that it is important
that the students arent surprised when they go into tests. They need to be prepared. We went
through the questions that I was hoping to cover.
