KUALA LUMPUR: Three foreign workers were injured when part of an under-construction building along Jalan Kia Peng collapsed this evening. The victims were working at the site when a portion of the building structure collapsed from the eighth floor. City Fire and Rescue Department director Khirudin Drahman said the incident involved the building's third floor all the way up to the eighth floor. Khirudin said a team from the KLCC station, led by operation commander Syed Nor Kamal Syed Nor Hussin, were deployed to the scene after being alerted to the incident at 5.19pm. The victims had already been sent to the hospital before the firemen arrived. The team scoured the site to ensure that there were no other victims. The collapse is believed to have occurred due to weaknesses in the concrete and beams, he said.
