My statement of purpose
The implication of game theory, which is also the implication of the third image, is, however, that
the freedom of choice of any one state is limited by the actions of the others. The stated from the
famous one Man, the State, and War (1959) written by Kenneth Waltz, an American political scientist.
I was a freshman, when I heard this statement from my International Law professor. And after I had
finished reading the article he assigned, it left me a lot of doubt and then become an interesting thing to
find an answer to those question in my mind. Since I was studied in the field of jurisprudence, I had an
opportunity to learn a little bit about political science like political economy, international relations and
political theory which it gradually inspired me to see and learn more about Political science field. These
things has convinced me to further my master degree in political science and international relations.
Because I sure that to combine my legal knowledge with political science together will help me to further
my understanding, sharpen my analytical skill and complete my knowledge in this field.
Since I was a sophomore, I have an opportunity to attend many seminars. I joined the conference in the
article of The United Nations Human Rights Council in the matter of developing human rights and unity
and I had a chance to share my opinion on politics and international relations topic with other students
and some experts. Moreover, I participated in special lecture Cambodia's Recent 25 Years: The Struggle for
Constitutionalism held by The German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good
Governance (CPG). The forum discussed some legal issues which made me see how important and the
necessity of the political science that effect on people life.
So, I decide to pursue the course on Social Research and Policy Major in International Relations. In
order to increase my knowledge about political activities, political thoughts and political behavior in depth
and help me to understand a fundamental part of our society and the system which lead to the change in
the future. I also believe this program encourage me to be a critical and creative thinker with the ability to
be an expert in the political science field and fulfill my dream of working in an international organization in
the future. Therefore, I feel this course would fit my past experiences and my interest most.
I am extremely excited and looking forward to having a chance to be in the world's top universities
in Australia like the University of New South Wales. And I believe that I will be the one who brings the
profession which I have learned to improve myself, to develop others, to make a difference in the field of
international relations to be better and lastly to be a student who builds a good reputation for the
University.
