Below is a listing (in alphabetical order) of the top organizations and foundations that provide
grants for women:
Charitable giving through the Federated Foundation, from Federateds divisions and corporate
office and The May Department Stores Foundation totaled more than $33.5 million in fiscal
2005. Areas of strategic focus for the Federated Foundation continue to be education,
arts/culture, minority issues, womens issues and HIV/AIDS.
GGEF is unique in that they are the only organization whose sole mission is to send girls to
schools. To address the gender gap that exists between girls and boys education wanted to give
girls a program of their own.
Each year, Girls Inc. partners with the Annie E. Casey Foundation to offer the Family
Strengthening Awards that recognize Girls Inc. affiliates for outstanding programs that make
families stronger and thus, help girls reach their full potential.
As part of Google's ongoing commitment to furthering Dr. Anita Borg's vision, they are pleased
to announce the Google Anita Borg Scholarship, through which we hope to encourage women to
excel in computing and technology and become active role models and leaders.

Via this program, Verizon collects no-longer-used wireless phones and accessories and turns
them into support for domestic violence organizations nationwide. The initiative aims to help the
nearly one in four women, and more than 3 million children in the United States affected by
domestic violence.
This program is awarding seed money as well as business resources to further the development
of original product ideas and startup businesses. Huggies does not specifically seek ideas that
are diaper or hygiene related.
IFUW and its national affiliates help to build the future by offering fellowships and grants to
enable women and girls to achieve their educational goals
A non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for, and awarding grants to, low income
women, ages 35 and older. Each grant recipient has a vision of how a college education will
benefit herself, her family, and her community. Most recipients are in truly meager financial
circumstances and may have other hardships or disabilities.
