1. OUR COMPANY

1a. Overview
AltHERnative was created to support women around the world by providing
proper contraceptive distribution, giving educational opportunity, and offering
health care.
Traditionally, women have been expected to act as birth givers to ensure familial
prosperity, and due to this responsibility have been denied the chance to receive
a proper education. If given access to proper contraception, education, and
health care altHERnative believes that women will become self sufficient workers
in society.

1d. Our Services

AltHERnative has a global network of distributors prepared to ship contraceptive
solutions to countries and local governments.
This will be successful with the help of our partners, Essure and Sprintec.
AltHERnative provides the services of a resident doctors to monitor the health of
women in the community.
Our resident doctors will be qualified to assist women with pregnancies,
and teach women about personal care, hygiene, and proper contraceptive
methods and conduct.
AltHERnative provides education to the members of the receiving community.
Provide month long workshops and teach women how to transform their
personal skills into their own businesses.
Promote self-sufficiency within communities.

FY17 ALTHERNATIVE GRANT REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP)

FOR WOMEN WITH LACK OF ACCESS TO PROPER CONTRACEPTION,
AGES 12 THROUGH 30

ALTHERNATIVE GRANT REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP)

Applications for altHERnative Grant Funds must result from the identification of priorities by
local government officials in communities with need. Based upon relative need, company
officials will determine if altHERnative services need be provided.

Federal funds are used to provide community-based services for women without access to
contraception, proper education, and health care. Services are designed to provide
contraception to the local communities in need, educational classes, and health care
opportunities. In order for our services to be successful, we must have proper funding from
Federal Initiatives to cover distribution cost, and salaries, food, and travel compensation for
locally stationed teachers and public health experts (if the community exhibits valid need).

AltHERnative is submitting funding requests to address the following priorities:

Payment and shipping of contraception globally
Educational services including school supplies, teacher salaries, and room rental during
class periods
Health education and services including doctor salaries, medical equipment, and
coverage of a clinical office
Funding for advertisement
Female support/advocacy
Youth Leadership and/or youth peer to peer support

2b. Budget Proposal

1st year 1 year project Up to $200,000 for a single location
1st year Multi-yr project Up to $500,000 for two locations
2nd year Multi-yr project Up to $1,000,000 dependent on success of previous
projects
3rd, 4th, 5th years Multi-yr project Up to $5,000,000
Funding for projects in subsequent years will be contingent upon satisfactory success achieved
and the availability of funds.

2c. Location
At this point, the most pressing need we see for contraceptive distribution and
supplemental health care is in rural India. Particularly in the village of Manipur,
which has the lowest rate of contraceptive use in the country of India at 28.8
percent (New). Based upon the success of Phase One, we will reevaluate need
in Manipur. If need continues to present itself, our services will remain in
Manipur. If Manipur is no longer in need of our services and altHERnative has
sufficient funding, the organization will expand its services to other rural villages
in India, such as Kutali, India.
