GREETINGS FROM THE PRINCIPAL

We have been blessed with a great start to the new school year! It is exciting to see the halls full of students
once again. The fall athletic program is in full swing with Golf, Football, Boys and Girls Soccer, Boys and Girls
Cross Country, Cheerleading and Volleyball. It is so encouraging to see so many of our students involved in the fall
program.
We welcome these new faculty/staff members to the high school: Miss Lexie Anders, English 9 and 10,
Miss Sarah Britton, Band and Strings, Mrs. Allison Cron, Librarian, Mr. Danny Kloosterman, Honors English 11,
English 10, Mr. Alan Shaeffer, Bible 9, Speech, Drama Director, Mrs. Beth Shaeffer, Study Hall and Drama
Assistant, Mr. Joshua Snyder, Algebra 2, Honors Algebra 2, AP Calc, Mr. Randy Sweigart, Study Hall, Mr. Joey
Turner, Bible 11, Director of Spiritual Life, and Mrs. Sarah Wilson, Physical Science, Algebra 1 Lab.
Congratulations to Miss Stolar (Spanish) who became Mrs. Misere this summer.

PHYS ED CREDITS: Dayton Christian does not offer Physical Education during the school
year but the state requires 1/2 credit of PE so your student may complete this requirement
through participation in an interscholastic sport or through aerobic exercise. These forms
explaining the criteria for earning Educational Option PE are available in the wall rack on
campus or on the website under “Academics”.

ATTENDANCE NEWS: Please call 291-7248 by 9:00 am in the event a student will be absent
or late because of an appointment or illness. Written notes are really appreciated. Parents must
call or send a note for any absence or late arrival to be excused. Students receive a detention
after 3 unexcused tardies in one quarter, then one detention for each additional unexcused tardy
in that quarter.

MISSION SERVICE HOURS Each student at DCHS is privileged to meet hours of mission
service per year (Freshmen need 20 hours; Sophomores-Seniors need 30 hours). To report
your hours use the blue form found in the wall rack outside the high school office. The
Parent/Student Handbook gives more details and a list of approved ministries.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled September 30 and October 1. School

will be closed both of these days. More details will be coming your way via The
Warrior Daily.
