Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology

Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology is published by the

Association for Information Science and Technology. The first publication is in 1950, and this

journal now is published by Association for Information Science and Technology. The

language of the journal is English, and the impact factor of this journal is 2.322, and I think this

impact factor shows this journal impact many readers in this field [1]. The computer industry has

many field concentrations, and this journal focuses on information science. The interest of this

journal was in the development of microfilm as an aid to information dissemination initially [2].

This journal now focuses on examining the social consequences, and theoretical understanding

of online databases, widespread use of databases in government, industry, and education, and the

development of the Internet and World Wide Web [2]. With the advances in technology, portable

application and communication technology impact profoundly on our life, so people will create

many data in a day that make the online database become important. This journal publishes 12

issues every year [1]. Every issue has 16 articles, and the article types are AIS reviews, research

papers and book reviews [1]. Those articles are written by different types of writers which are

Ph.D. students, university educators and experts in the field [1]. The audience of this journal

could be the students, professors, and the readers who interested in this topic. In addition, the

structure of the articles has the introduction of the topic, methods, results, and the discussion of

the results. This article structure is common for many articles since the clear structure. The

special issue during this year is about the next-generation search engines, e.g. how users interact

with the search systems, and how the search engines will evolve in the future [2]. The

requirements for getting an article published needs to create an account of ScholarOne, once you

are a membership of ScholarOne you can submit your articles [3]. There is an interesting feature

1
that there are smartphone applications available for this journal [1]. This journal could be found

on the Wiley Online Library, and the George Mason online Library as well.
