Bats Fall Silent Late, Osprey Drop Close Game

Wasted opportunities undercut Os on final day of August
MISSOULA, MONT. - Keshawn Lynch piled up four hits, but struck out with runners on second and third
to end the ballgame, as the Missoula Osprey (32-35 | 13-16) fell to the Billings Mustangs (30-36-1 | 12-17) by
a final score of 5-4 at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field on Thursday night.

Billings jumped to an early 3-0 lead, scoring on a single by Hendrik Clementina in the first and a two-run
homer by J.D. Salmon-Williams in the second. The Mustangs notched four hits in the first two innings
against Osprey starter Cesilio Pimentel, who settled down markedly in the subsequent several innings.

Finally in the fourth, Missoula broke through for a scoring flurry, plating four runs to take their only lead of
the game. Eduardo Diaz opened the inning by dropping a fly ball behind first base for a leadoff double. Diaz
then moved to third on Lynchs second hit of the night, a single to left field. Andy Yerzy pushed the first run
across on a groundout to shortstop, moving Lynch to second base. The next batter, Juan Araujo, opened a
string of four consecutive singles that scored Missoulas two final runs to put them in front 4-3.

During the next frame, Pimentel was tagged for a final run, exiting after five innings with the score tied 4-4.
In his fourth start of the season, Pimentel surrendered four runs (all earned) on seven hits and two walks,
while striking out five batters.

After Billings plated the go-ahead run in the sixth, Jeff Bain anchored the final three innings of relief work,
spinning a trio of scoreless frames in succession and striking out three. Unfortunately for the Osprey,
innings six, seven, and eight were fruitless at the plate.

Trailing 5-4 entering the bottom of the ninth, the Osprey pushed runners to second and third with two men
out. Lynch, a perfect 4-for-4 at the time with three doubles then worked the count full before striking out to
leave both men on base. Lynchs four-hit game was his second of the season.

The Osprey return to Ogren Park at Allegiance Field on Friday night for the finale of their four-game tilt
against the Billings Mustangs. Second overall pick in the 2017 MLB Draft Hunter Greene is scheduled to
start on the mound for Billings. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.
