CAUTION
Mountainous terrain all quadrants (see Jeppesen chart 10-1).
During strong and/or shifting surface winds, expect turbulence and
windshear.
Hang gliding and soaring activity in vicinity of airport. Monitor ATIS
for location and activity.
NOTES
Slide Mountain weather data frequently appears in RNO weather
reports. Slide Mountain weather station is unmanned and is located
southwest of RNO (just south of Mt. Rose) at 9650' MSL.

Runway Restrictions
Runway 07/25 is PROHIBITED for takeoff.
Runway 07/25 is to be considered for EMERGENCY USE ONLY for
landing. Terrain/Obstacle avoidance is the responsibility of the pilot
and must be accomplished visually. Applicable Landing Data cards
must be consulted before accepting either Runway 7 or 25 as a
landing runway.

ARRIVAL
CAUTION
Flights into RNO may be descended to minimum vectoring altitudes
by Approach Control. Depending on location, this may increase the
possibility of a GPWS warning. If a GPWS / Terrain, Terrain warning
is received, the escape maneuver must be initiated unless the crew
is in day visual meteorological conditions and can immediately and
unequivocally confirm safe terrain clearance until landing.
Refer to OM Vol. I for GPWS warning procedures.
PAPI limitations due to high terrain (see page 10-9A).
Circling approaches east of Runway 16R/34L centerline must
remain west of the FMG VOR R-181 for terrain clearance.
The "ILS 16R" in the FMS database depicts the SILVER ILS Rwy
16R approach (page 11-9), not the ILS Rwy 16R (page 11-1).
