I am a senior with a major in journalism and a minor in English. I have a current GPA of 3.6. I
was a member of the East Tennessean writing staff.

I graduated in the academic top ten in the province of Mpumalanga and was a member of
the student governing body. I was editor of the school newspaper and photography club.
South Africa did not use a GPA system, but I had an A average.

I was given a multitude of assignments in most forms of media and all kinds of different beats.
I was expected to be on top of the latest trends in all of Greene County as well as general
society. I was given short and long deadlines, so I learned to perfect the craft of writing and
editing under pressure.
Columnist | East Tennesseean | January 2015-October 2017
I was responsible for writing a column that connects the average East Tennessee college
student to the life of an international student. I enjoyed diversifying the content of the
newspaper with regards to politics, sports, vacationing and other topics, not just everyday life.
Contributor | Bahrain Confidential Magazine | March 2017-July 2017
I was responsible for contributing a short op-ed every month that shows how a South African
living in the United States connects to the Kingdom of Bahrain. It was a great challenge. I
strive to perfect my future work.
