Week 7

As I reflect on this weeks experiences working as an intern, I realized how much I enjoy

working with my assigned population. I like to empower others and it is very satisfying to know

that my work can make a difference in these individuals learning development. Little by little

my designated tasks are becoming part of my own learning experience. By creating a close

collaboration with colleagues, clients, clients families, and the community.

The duties of a human service administrator are complex in my opinion. Although, as an

administrator I must follow policies and guidelines designed to accomplish my organizations

mission. There must be a little flexibility to accommodate unexpected situations. After all, life

happens in many ways throwing us curve balls to keep us focus and to remind us of our mission.

I am constantly learning about my strengths as a human service administrator. I have

learned that a stern leader many times has to be flexible and humble to gain the respect of his/her

peers and the community he/she leads.
