Writing Objectives Assignment

Declarative Knowledge

From memory, sixth grade students will list the three steps to divide fractions with 100%

accuracy.

Concepts

Given a diagram of the interior of the earth, sixth grade students will label the four layers of the

earth with 90% accuracy.

Principles

Given an image of a metal rod held over a flame with three gummy bears sitting on top at

different spaces away from the flame, students will predict which gummy bear will melt first

based on conduction, with 80% accuracy.

Procedures

Given a website with all steps listed, students in the sixth-grade class will add themselves to the

Super Sixth Grade Google Classroom page without help from their teacher.

Problem Solving

Given a 70-point team talk answer, sixth grade students will revise the answer to become a 100-

point answer according to the Team Talk Rubric.

Cognitive Strategies

Given a news article, students will mark-up the text using close reading strategies with at least 10

mark-ups per page.

Attitudes

During class, students in sixth grade will not shout-out while the teacher is speaking more than

15 times per day.

Psychomotor Skills

Given a Chromebook and 45-minutes each week to practice, by the end of the 2017-2018 school

year, students in the sixth-grade classroom will be able to type 35 words correct per minute

(WCPM) with 90% accuracy. Terminal objective for the 2017-2018 school year.
