September 21, 1947, is an
American author of horror,
supernatural fiction, suspense,
science fiction, and fantasy. His
books have sold more than 350
million copies, many of which
have been adapted into feature
films, miniseries, television
series, and comic books.
King has published 54 novels,
including seven under the
pen name Richard Bachman,
and six non-fiction books.

Synopsis
A promise made twenty-eight
years ago calls seven adults
to reunite in Derry, Maine,
where as teenagers they battled
an evil creature that preyed
on the city's children. Unsure
that their Losers Club had
vanquished the creature all
those years ago, the seven had
vowed to return to Derry if
IT should ever reappear. Now,
children are being murdered
again and their repressed
memories of that summer
return as they prepare to do
battle with the monster lurking
in Derry's sewers once more.
It is a novel about the power
of collective fantasy: when
the Losers enter the sewers
beneath Derry, they encounter
together nightmares theyve
previously only encountered
themselves.
King does not write badly
because he does not write, or
dream, alone. His obsessions
are ours, and he is willing to
expose himself in presenting
them back to us, hoping for
that nod of recognition: Yes, of
course, we hadnt known it like
that, but wed known it. Where
It was, we shall be.
