Visual and Performing Arts should be highly encouraged by teachers in the classroom.

This can
allow students to gain interest on topics such as theater, dance, or art. It allows our students to
show their creativity and to transmit messages in a very unique way. It teaches many life skills
and prepares students for the future. That is the reason why it should be incorporated at a young
age because in high school and college many classes are based on music and theater. This will
prepare them and make it easier for them. I struggled in my theater classes because it was the
first time I really talked to a large audience, when I think this should start off at a very young
age. The artifact Just Listen is a lesson plan I created for my Theater 337 class it teaches
listening skills but it is a great ice breaker. It is very helpful in my teaching career because I can
do this lesson plan on the first day of school. I can even teach it and tells students the importance
of having listening skills. It was also great practice on creating lesson plans.
