STEPS/METHODS :

1. First, Meresik. It means mans family send someone to go to womans house to ask that
woman have boyfriend or not yet. The purpose of meresik are to propose marriage and make
a relationship with the womans family.
2. Second, Melamar. In this step mans family come to womans family and carrying Tepak
Sirih and ring as wedding binder mark. And exchange engagement rings. In this event the
womans family will say what the requisites to the wedding such as mahar, goods of
bedroom, and money. And then make certain about when they wanna do wedding party.
3. Next, Berinai. Do it before the wedding promises day. Both of bride will cleaned by flour.
Before do it, bride must to finish Al Quran. In the night will be held party with Gendang,
singing and gambus dance.
4. After that, Akad Nikah. The man comes to womans house to does Hampang batang
ceremony, mans family will blocked by two young men who holding coconut branch. Next it
will be held Silat Berlaga, the man will be a hero. After that there are two women sow the
man with Rampai flowers, it means the war was stopped. Next the man comes into woman
house and does wedding promise. After that praying together. Then, the ceremony ends in
handing the brides to their family.
5. After Akad Nikah, the brides are married. The brides wearing wedding dress of Medan.
6. Finally, the brides have become husband and wife.
