Strengths:
1.1a I wrote a rationale for my podcast showing the topic I would speak about in my
podcast
1.1b I included my music pieces in the rationale, giving the podcast more context.
1.1c I had considered the target audience and found that sports and music fans would
enjoy my podcast. This was good as this is a very large target audience.
1.2a I had recoded myself speaking successfully to be used in my podcast.
1.2b I had created the podcast including my tracks and my voice recording. I also
included jingles and relevant stingers in my podcast.
1.2c I used the ducking function successfully for my tracks, making it possible for me to
speak over tracks.
1.2d I had added media such as pictures to my podcast, these pictures were relevant to
the dialogue and music.
1.2e I had been able to create my podcast based around the criteria, i.e. a podcast
around the 15-minute mark.
1.3 I reviewed three podcast hosting sites to see which site would be most useful to me.
Difficulties Encountered:
1.1a I found it difficult to manage which/ how many songs I would use in my podcast, as I
had so many to choose from.
1.2a I found it difficult to manage my time when coming to recording my voice. I was
spending too much time on this when it could have been done in 1 or 2 lessons, had I
managed my time more efficiently.
1.1a I had reviewed these songs and made a list of songs I enjoyed listening to, and
songs I believed listeners would enjoy.
1.2a I need to learn to work faster and how to avoid being too picky with the audio I
used, especially my own voice recordings as this slowed me down.
Conclusion:
I believe that overall I have achieved a merit for this unit because:
1.1 - I created a detailed rationale that included the songs Id use and more context for
each song.
1.2 I created a 15 minute long podcast that was well constructed. I had included;
Pictures relevant to the dialogue; music and my own voice recordings; Jingles and stingers
relevant to the podcast; the use of ducking and editing such as splitting tracks and looping
tracks.
1.3 I had successfully reviewed 3 different podcast hosting sites, to review which one I
could use.
