Container: invention of the century
On 3 May 1966, the MS Fairland, carrying 226 containers,
CONTAINERS
arrived in Rotterdam under the watchful eye of Queen
Juliana. It was the start of a weekly container service
between New York and West Europe, with Rotterdam as INCOMING AND OUTGOING CONTAINERS BY SEA, 2015 - 2014
Europes first container port.
