To Whom It May Concern:

It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Heather Delude. Heather was a student
teacher with me at Glenbrook Middle School, Longmeadow, MA in the fall of 2017. During this
time period she proved herself to be a very capable and creative teacher. While here she taught
grade 6th, 7th and 8th Health Education classes. She also taught our 6th grade advisory group
which was a program to help develop opportunities for social emotional learning.

The curriculum was fast paced as she saw all students everyday which required developing new
lesson plans each day. She was extremely conscientious and created lessons that were not
only age appropriate but were engaging and valuable. Her ability to create assessments and
measure student learning and growth was also evident in her adjustment to practice as the units
unfolded.

Heather was able to probe students during discussions to get them to reflect more deeply on the
lesson objectives. She connected well with the students and was approachable in her manner
but still maintained very good classroom management. Middle school is a challenging age
group and she taught everything from Wellness to Puberty Education with style and knowledge.
Topics that were taught included, Drug and Alcohol Education, Body Systems, Sexual
Harassment, Mental Health, Stress Management, and First Aid to name some.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I would welcome the opportunity
to expound upon this recommendation. I do believe Heather would make a positive addition to
any Health and/or Physical Education department. I wish her the best in her future endeavors.

Sincerely,

Philippa K. Siegel, M.Ed.
