The Slave Girl and Officer Naaman

Based on 2 Kings 5:14, and 914.

Naaman, an important officer in the ancient Syrian army

of Old Testament days, suffered from a serious incurable
skin disease. A young Jewish girl who was serving in
Naamans house said to her mistress, My master should
visit the prophet who lives in Samaria. The prophet could
cure my master of his skin disease.
So Naaman rode his horses and chariot to the house
of the prophet Elisha. When he arrived, Elisha sent his
servant to tell Naaman to wash himself in the Jordan River
seven times.
At first Naaman was humiliated to be asked to do
something that seemed too simple. However, his personal
servant told him, Sir, if the prophet had told you to do
something difficult, you would have done it. Now, you
must only wash yourself, as he said, and be cured.
Naaman did what Elisha had told him to do and was
completely cured. This all came about due to the young
servant girls faith in Gods power to heal, who then told
her mistress about the prophet Elisha.
