TANJUNG PERAK as international port & gate for Eastern
Indonesia. Has at least 13 shipping line and 12 destination
for international lines. Growth in the flow of ships and goods
in pelabuan Tanjung Perak over the last 5 years very high &
fast so PT. Pelindo III develop Tanjung Perak through
reconfiguration of the terminal multipurpose Teluk Lamong
and manyar multipurpose terminal.
Terminal multipurpose Teluk Lamong capable of
accommodating international container box 1.5552 million,
3.1104 million domestic box containers and 20.736 million
tons of the dry bulk.
East Java has industrial estate that integrated with
terminal multipurpose Teluk Lamong that one of those is
JIIPE.

SHIPYARD INDUSTRI
East Java include in the shipyard industry development
plan. Shipyard will developed in Wongsorejo Industrial
Estate Banyuwangi, in industrial estate Java Integrated
Industrial Port Estate (JIIPE) Gresik and Lamongan .
East Java has 16 shipbuilding companies that spread in
East Java. They are PT. PAL Indonesia (the bigest), PT. Dock
and Shipping Surabaya (DPS), PT. Dumas Tanjung Perak
Shipyard, PT. Adiluhung Sarana Segara Indonesia (ASSI) in
Soca Bangkalan Madura.
For the development of shipbuilding industry in East Java
are supported by human resource availability Shipping of
ITS - Surabaya and other universities.
NASDEC (National Ship Design & Engineering Center) in ITS
Surabaya as a provider of services in the Service Center for
Research, Improvement and Development of the National Ship
Design and Engineering aimed at improving the competitiveness of
the shipping industry in Indonesia (from the aspect of quality , the
cost and time of delivery).

East Java also has the Shipping Industry Cluster Surabaya
(Kikas) will develop into Community Shipping Industry
Cluster Surabaya (MASKIKAS) with the aim of encouraging
Core Industry Agglomeration, Industry Suppliers, Industrial
Support, Related Industries, Industrial and Institutional
Support Users Shipping.
Development of the shipbuilding industry is also supported
by the potential such as availability of land north coast area
of 4,000 hectares for the shipbuilding industry and
supporting industries in accordance with the Spatial East
Java Province.
East Java has a fairly long coastline and the depth ranges
from 9 s / d 12 m at a distance of> 300 m from the shoreline.

and industrial raw water)

In the framework of the government's desire to build
infrastructure toll maritime sea to become the pivot
maritime world, especially in Asia Pacific rapidly
implemented, the government appointed PT PAL into
command in the mechanism of shipbuilding because of PT.
PAL Surabaya has the capability of production, design and
product management.
In the implementation of PT. PAL will involve BPPT (Agency
for the Assessment and Application of Technology) and ITS
to improve the quality of the national shipbuilding industry.
Several investors from Japan, Korea, China, and Sweden
have done assessments of investment in shipbuilding.

BANYUWANGI AS CENTRE OF EXCELLENT
Banyuwangi Regency become as centers of excellence or reference
center for leading development of human resources and the marine
areas of international fisheries .
Banyuwangi already has Education & training of fisheries (BPPP), a
maritime vocational school (fisheries and shipping) and Airlangga
University of Banyuwangi also has a department of aquaculture,
shipbuilding industry and great potential for marine tourism.
Banyuwangi has the longest beach in East Java and one of the
largest fishing port in Muncar.
Hall Fisheries Education and Training .in Banyuwangi not only a
center of excellence in Indonesia but also to the level of South-
East Asia.
Banyuwangi chosen as a center of excellence for Firstly, the area
was nicknamed The Sunrise of Java has a complete educational
instrument of maritime, from vocational to college. Secondly,
Banyuwangi have qualified fisheries counselor. The third,
Banyuwangi also has natural resources. One of them is very good
water quality that supports the development of freshwater
aquaculture eel one that has a very high economic value. Fourth,
the high commitment of local government.
