Welcome
A special SHS welcome to all of our new
teachers. We encourage you to sign up to
bring your classes to the library media
center. If you need special materials, let
us know, and we can provide a
bibliography or resources. Let us know
how the library staff can help you.
Hours
S tudents can visit the library without a
pass from 7:00-8:00 and after school
until 3:30. Students needing to visit
during lunch can pick up a pass from any
of the library staff members.
Bringing Classes
Want to bring your classes?
When signing up in the
book, please use a pencil.
If you need to cancel, let us
know so we can let others
know that time/day is
available. The sign up book
is in our office.
Banned Book Week
Banned Book Week is coming up! It starts
September 27th and runs through October 1st.
The library will celebrate Banned Book
Week for a few weeks. Tell your students to
check out our display!

Principal’s Reading Honor Roll
Please tell your students about
the Principals Reading Honor
Roll. Anyone can join. A
student gives us his or her name.
We keep a reading log in the
media center. Whenever that
student finishes a book, he tells
us the title, gives us a summary,
and we record the title on the log sheet.
Students who read thirty books by May will
receive a certificate from the principal and
their name mentioned before the board. We
also invite students who have read a
significant number of books to a party at the
end of the year. Encourage your students to
sign up!
SCOIS
Go to http://www.scois.net. Click Login in
the CIS box in the middle of the page. Put
spartanhs as the username and spartanhs as
the password. Student can create their own
accounts by clicking on Create My Portfolio
on the right side. Even with individualized
accounts, students still need to login with the
spartanhs username and password.
Playaways
O ur collection of Playaways grew from
thirty-three to sixty-three. Playaways
are audiobooks in a hard case. Students can
check them out for two weeks. We provide
batteries but NOT earbuds. If students want
earbuds, they can purchase them from us for
$1.00.
Sections of the Week
The sections of the week are math and local
