PROPOSAL TITLE: FEATURES OF THE RETENTION POLICY OF SELECTED TOP PERFORMING

SCHOOLS IN THE PHILIPPINES

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

The degree bachelor of science in accountancy has been one of the most in sought course these days. The
increasing demand for the profession paved its way for the prominence of the said program. A passer of the CPA
Board Examination does not only bring recognition to his name and because of this the college or university are
being renowned. A success of the student increases the credibility of the college or university in producing well-
qualified graduates.

The study will be focusing on the top performing state colleges and universities as well as top private colleges and
universities. The selection of the top five on each class of college or universities will be based on the results of CPA
Board exam during May and October.

This study focuses on determining whether the imposed retention policy on the BSA program affects the students’
performance in the CPA Board Examination. Another objective of the study is to identify among the retention
policies of selected top performing schools which are the most influential in bringing a high percentage in the
BLECPA. The output of the study will serve as a guiding basis in enhancing their existing retention policy.

 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The objective of this proposed research study is to provide an answer to the problems indicated:

1. What is the operational status of the retention policies of the selected schools offering BS Accountancy?
2. What are the implications of the operational status of the retention policy to their board performance?
3. What policy direction can be adopted by Bicol University to enhance their retention policy and to produce
more passer in the BLECPA?
