Safe Work Procedure of Formwork Erection Works

Delivery and Handling

 Delivery Lorries are to observe speed limit and directional movement on worksite.

 Lifting Supervisor to ensure that the materals are within the SWL of the crane and
gears before hoisting.

 Only riggers and signalmen are allowed to handle the hoisting of the loads.

 Loads shall be lifted in a method that will prevent them from spinning or overturning.

 Workers have the necessary PPE (Leather gloves, helmet, safety boots).

 Ensure materials are stacked properly and safely.

Formwork Construction and Dismantling

 Workers must wear safety harness while installing the life line. Life line shall anchor to
rigid point and always keep in tension.

 Life line shall be provided once the formwork frames are constructed.

 Barricades are to be provided to all open side, into or through which a person may fall
while carrying out formwork construction.

 Ensure proper working platform i.e. strong & good materials is used for working
platform, secure and adequate, not over loaded, not uneven loading, etc.

 Workers must wear proper PPE while cutting the timber planks.

 Supply right tools for right job.

 All electrical parts should be checked before use and make sure wire is not directly
contacted with metallic materials.

 When working at height and on scaffold system, always observe working at height safe
work procedures.

 Formwork supervisor must ensure the formwork structure is complied with PE design if
required.

 Warning sign and barricades should be provided during construction and dismantling of
formwork structure.

 Ensure proper housekeeping on site at all times.
