INTERNATIONAL, BACHELOR, DOUBLE DEGREE PROGRAME

“ECONOMICS AND FINANCE”:


UNIVERSITY OF LONDON (LEAD COLLEGE – LSE)
&
UNIVERSITY OF BELGRADE (FACULTY OF ECONOMICS)

ENROLMENT CRITERIA AND PROCEDURE


(school year 2017/2018)

Hereby we define the criteria and procedure for enrolment to the International program “Economics and
Finance” by:

1. Candidates who have completed the year 1 of studies at the Faculty of Economics – University of
Belgrade
2. Candidates with the secondary education degree earned abroad, and
3. Candidates who are already students at a higher education institutions abroad.

Admission to the International program “Economics and Finance” is competitive and subject to availability
of places on programme.

I. Candidates who have finished the year 1 of the studies at the Faculty of
Economics – University of Belgrade

PRECONDITIONS AND PROCESS

Candidates need to meet the general conditions for enrolment in the International programme Economics
and Finance of the University of London:

In general there are two eligibility criteria that need to be met for a student (of the Faculty of Economics)
to enrol the international program “Economics and Finances”, starting from the study year 2:
• Student must have scored at least 48 ECTS in the year 1
• Student has the English language certificate, as prescribed by the University of London (see the
link above).
APPLICATION PROCEDURE AND DOCUMENTS
Applications for the program may be submitted from 1st to 20th September at the Faculty of Economics,
University of Belgrade (Student office). The following documents must be submitted:
1. The application form (obtained when applying – candidate must provide ID number so that
Faculty of Economics can electronically access the transcripts) and
2. The English language certificate.
Decisions on admissions are made on the basis of academic merit, contextual data, and the availability of
places on programme. Candidates will be ranked based on:
• their performance in the year 1 of the studies (sum of ECTS multiplied by the grade): weight 75%
• the English language test score: weight 25%.

Top 40 students will be invited to enrol to the international program. Invited students shall submit the
online registration with the University of London (assistance to be provided to the students by the Faculty
of Economics – University of Belgrade).

TUITION FEES
• Tuition fee payable to the Faculty of Economics - University of Belgrade:
o none (if a student has met the criteria for budget financing) or
o the official tuition fee of the Faculty of Economics, as defined for all other students (if
student does not meet criteria for budget financing)
• Tuition fee payable to the University of London (see Appendix 1)

II. Candidates with the secondary education degree earned abroad

PRECONDITIONS AND PROCESS

Candidates need to meet the general conditions for enrolment in the International programme Economics
and Finance of the University of London:

The secondary-school degree has to be recognized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological
Development of the Republic of Serbia. More on the recognition procedure on

Upon completion of the recognition process with the Ministry, the candidate applies for enrolment to the
year 1 of bachelor studies at the Faculty of Economics - University of Belgrade (taught in Serbian), within
the deadline prescribed for foreign citizens and in accordance with the admission requirements (in the 1st
week of September 2017). Enrolment to the year 1 of bachelor studies at the Faculty of Economics is
competition based and depends on the availability of the places. Further information on enrolment in

Upon completion of the year 1 of study at the Faculty of Economics - University of Belgrade (note that the
year 1 is completely thought in Serbian) and fulfilled requirements for enrolment into the year 2
(minimum 48 ECTS), the student is entitled to apply for the International program "Economics and
Finance" (see Section I of this document).
After completing the international program "Economics and Finance" at the Faculty of Economics -
University of Belgrade, student acquires two degrees - a degree issued by the University of London (lead
college - London School of Economics and Political Science) and a degree issued by the University of
Belgrade (Faculty of Economics).
APPLICATION PROCEDURE AND DOCUMENTS
Candidates apply using the regular procedure for enrolment in September (the A3 list for Serbian citizens).

TUITION FEES
1) Tuition fee in the year 1, payable to the Faculty of Economics - University of Belgrade:
a) Citizens of Serbia: (i) if the candidate is qualified for budget financing any further payments to
the Faculty of Economics are not required; (ii) if the candidate does not meet criteria for budget
financing - RSD 112,200 per year;
b) Foreign citizens: EUR 1,500 per year.

2) Tuition fees in the year 2, year 3 and year of the studies:


• Tuition fee payable to the Faculty of Economics - University of Belgrade:
a) Citizens of Serbia:
o none (if a student has met the criteria for budget financing) or
o the official tuition fee, as defined for all other students (if student does not
meet criteria for budget financing)
b) Foreign citizens: EUR 1,500 per year

• Tuition fee payable to the University of London (see Appendix 1)

Student pays the registration fee to the Faculty of Economics - University of Belgrade of RSD 3,000.

III. Candidates moving from other foreign higher-education institution

PRECONDITIONS AND PROCESS

Candidates need to meet the general conditions for enrolment in the International programme Economics
and Finance of the University of London:

Request for recognition of the higher-education degree for continuing education at the Faculty of
Economics is submitted to the University of Belgrade with accompanying documents and a description of
all subjects passed at the foreign higher education institution. More on the recognition procedure on the

Upon completion of the recognition process, the candidate enrols in the appropriate year of
undergraduate studies (depending on the number of recognized credits) at the Faculty of Economics in
Belgrade and is eligible to apply for the international program "Economics and Finance".

NOTE: The precondition to initiate the process of recognition of the higher education diploma for
continuation of education is a minimum of 60 ECTS obtained at a foreign higher education institution.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE AND DOCUMENTS
Students who want to transfer to the Faculty of Economics – University of Belgrade and to enrol to the
international program need to submit the application from 1st to 20th September 2017(Student office,
Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade). The following documents are requested:
1. Application form (obtained when applying)
2. Official birth certificate
3. Recognition of the higher-education degree for continuing education
4. Official transcripts from the first year of studies completed abroad
5. English language certificate (as stipulated by the rules of the University of London, for
international programmes, available at the link disclosed above)
Top 5 students will be invited to enrol to the international program. The rest of the transferring students
will be invited to enrol to the regular program at the Faculty of Economics – University of Belgrade (taught
in Serbian).
Ranking of applicants will be based on their performance in the year 1 of the studies (the sum of ECTS
multiplied by the grade, rescaled to the Serbian system of grading). Upon completion of the selection
process, student pays the registration fee to the Faculty of Economics - University of Belgrade of RSD
3,000.
After completing the international program "Economics and Finance" at the Faculty of Economics -
University of Belgrade, student acquires two degrees - a degree issued by the University of London (lead
college - London School of Economics and Political Science) and a degree issued by the University of
Belgrade (Faculty of Economics).
In order to be eligible for the degree of the University of London (lead college – LSE), students need to
pass all international program exams defined by the University of London and 7 exams of the University
of Belgrade (year 1). Students who have finished the year 1 at a foreign higher education institution may
apply for recognition of exams at the Faculty of Economics – University of Belgrade, so some of the exams
passed abroad may be recognized as the exams at the Faculty of Economics – University of Belgrade (e.g.
a student gets 3 exemptions based on the exams passed abroad, needs to sit 4 differential exams defined
by the year 1 curriculum at the Faculty of Economics – University of Belgrade).

TUITION FEES

1) Tuition fee payable to the Faculty of Economics - University of Belgrade depends on the number
of ECTS a student needs to sit at the Faculty of Economics year 1:
o 1 ECTS = RSD 1,800 tuition fee (e.g. students was awarded recognition of 40 ECTS brought
from foreign university – in that case she/he needs to sit exams for remaining 20 ECTS at
the Faculty of Economics, so the tuition fee payable to Faculty of Economics equals RSD
36,000.
o Registration fee RSD 3,000.
