Below are the instructions to be followed for preparing your CV's

The entire CV must be in Calibri (Body) font size 10 except for the following:-
  The Candidate’s name which is in font size 14.
 The Section heading which is font size 11.

The CV format must follow the section order as mentioned below- (refer sample CV)

Academic Qualifications: (Mandatory)

 Write the abbreviated form of your board e.g. CBSE/ICSE, etc.


 In the stream column for 12th class write Commerce/Science/Arts etc. (Do not write the names
 of the subjects)
 For 10th class leave the stream column blank.
 Under (%/CGPA) section, the value must be rounded off to one decimal place. (Do not put the %
 symbol after writing your percentage)
 CGPA has to be mentioned in the format – 3.4/4 or 8.5/10
(Include all subjects for calculating your percentage until and unless your mark sheet
 clearly specifies for a particular set of subjects)
 Conversion of CGPAs into percentage is only considered if you have a proof stating
 the conversion format, else it is not allowed.
 (Follow university guidelines to calculate the final CGPA / Percentage)
 If a calculated CGPA/percentage score is printed on the final mark sheet – it is preferred on the
CV.

Professional Qualification: (Optional)

Professional Qualification section can be included only if you have any of the following professional
certifications:

 CA
 CFA
 CS
 ICWA
 FRM
 Six sigma
 PHR
 SHRM
 PMP certification
 CAPM
 CSCP
 CPIM
 APICS

Certifications done apart from the above mentioned list must be put under Extra-Curricular.
Do not include certificates for workshops attended under professional certifications.

Summer Internship: (Mandatory)

 The format for furnishing the details of the internship must be:
o <Summer Internship> - <Organization>– refer sample CV
o < Project Title > (Year) – refer sample CV

Work experience: (If Applicable)

 If you do not have work experience – delete the entire column.


 If you have worked for more than one organization, follow the reverse chronological order.
 The format for the organization must be as:
o <Designation> at <Organization>, <Location> (Year) – refer sample CV
 Write the duration of your work in the format mentioned.
 Ensure you have documents to furnish proof for the joining date and relieving date of
your organization. (Last Payslip/ Relieving letter/ Offer Letter)

Key Project: (Optional)

 Mention in reverse chronological order.


 Projects done as part of your academics, live projects and internships (apart from your summer
internship) can be added to this section.
 The format for furnishing the details of the project must be as:
<Project Title> at <Organization> (Year) – refer sample CV
 Do not include the projects done during your work experience. They must be mentioned
 only under the Work Experience section.
 Mention the description in brief due to space constraint.

Achievements: (Mandatory)

 Mention in reverse chronological order.


 Mention significant participation only if you have nothing to write in competitions won.
 Do not write anything related to your school, unless it is significant and is adding value to your
CV.

Position of Responsibility: (Optional)

 Mention if you are part of any committee in SCMHRD. Members of the same committee must
 use the same language to describe your committee/role.
 Position of responsibility only in graduation/college which have supported proofs and add value,
must be mentioned in this section.

Extra-Curricular: (Mandatory)

 Include any extra-curricular achievements in this section.


 All the Volunteering activities will come under this section and to be mentioned in a line.
 If you have attended any certification training program, or have done social work you can enter it
in this section.
 Personal information/interests- self explanatory.
 Computer proficiency certification.
 Do not mention MS Excel/PowerPoint/Word.
 Mention about SPSS/Minitab/SAP, etc. - only if you are well versed in them.
 Other interests: You can mention your varied interests in this line.

Key points to remember –

1. CV should not exceed one page in any case. Anything on the second page will be deleted.

2. Do not change the header margins - Header 3 cm.

3. Follow the format for writing - else the CV will not be accepted.

4. Documents related to Academic background/Work ex/Certifications will be checked during


the verification process.
5. CV must be sent to cvteam@scmhrd.edu with the mail title as:
CV <Specialization> || <Name> || <Roll No>

Ensure you stick to the instructions and deadlines.
