Staff here have decided that we should reduce the length of The Open Evening so that we can give more time to one-to-one meetings in February. The Open Evening is informal and is intended as a "meet the teacher" time. Due to the lack of confidentiality during this event it is best not to discuss any personal or sensitive matters with the teacher.

Information to all parents/carers – September 1st 2010
We are having an Open Evening on Thursday September 16th
between 3.30 – 4.30 p.m. Staff here have decided that we should reduce the length of the open evening so that we can give more time to one-to-one meetings in February. We also plan to send home the interim report in November with the annual report at the normal time of June. Please be assured though that you can ask for a meeting at any time and indeed so can the class teachers if the need arises. The Open Evening is informal and is intended as a “meet the teacher” time. Due to the lack of confidentiality during this event it is best not to discuss any personal or sensitive matters with the teacher. We do encourage you to bring your child to this event and have a walk of the school. We also have a Literacy Week planned for the week beginning Monday September 27th with many events and activities to promote this important area of the curriculum. Last year we had a fantastic week and I’m sure this will continue in 2010. Our event coincides with Falkirk Council’s Learning to Achieve Festival with many schools highlighting good practice through a variety of experiences. Falkirk Council is taking part in a Validated Self Assessment with HMIe next week and we have been asked to showcase the work of our Enterprise Champions for this. There is a possibility that inspectors will be in Moray for a short time to speak to the children and find out about their work here. I hope that this information is helpful to you at this time.
