1.Describe your school

Pawar Public School, Chandivali was established in the year 2011. Our school
follows the highest form of discipline and hygiene. Infact, our school ranked first in
the top 10 schools in East Mumbai on the basis of discipline. As of now, our school
has about 1,400 pupils. Our school is a seven-story building and a spacious field.
Outside our classroom windows, we see tiny hills adorned with waterfalls during
monsoon. Our classrooms are airy, spacious and have softboards, blackboards and
touch-screen computer system.
A few of our school’s best features is the air-conditioned and large auditorium, the
library which contains more than 30,000 books, the efficient and easily accessible
sciene and computer labs which make learning fun.The ratio of teachers to students
in our school is 1:25. All our teachers are excellent in teaching and are highly
professional and academically experienced. Our school also has well equipped
sports rooms, one located on the ground floor and one on the seventh. Our
basement has a dance room, drama room and music room. For any students that are
unwell, we have our healthcare centre with two doctors and three councellors.
Each floor in our school has 11 classrooms. That’s 66 classrooms in all. We also
have staff rooms for teachers. One on the second, fourth, and sixth floor. The first
floor has the principal’s,headmaster’s and administrators’ office and reception. The
fifth floor has art and craft rooms, and the psychics, biology, chemistry and computer
labs.
2.Does our school have a policy of saving energy ?

Yes our school does have a

policy of saving energy
Switching off lights during
breaks.
‘Batti Bandh’ programme
when translated to english
means ‘lights off’ programme
. The school switches off all
electrical appliances for an
hour in a day every 6 months
Tata Power electricity
saving programme
measures to cut down the
cost of electricity bills
3.How does your school save energy now?

Our school actively saves energy by the following

methods :
All students are expected to turn the light and fans off
during the long breaks and before leaving the classes,
irrespective of their grade . We also have electricity
monitoring
Pawar Public School is an active participant in the ‘Tata
Power Energy’ saving campaign. Students from grade 1
to 10 bring photocopies of their bill and compare their
usage of electricity of that year to the year before .This
way we also keep an eye on our carbon footprint and
hence make use of our resources judiciously and
efficiently.
Pupils and teachers both take part and volunteer to be a
part of various workshops and our doors are open to
anyone to hold any such workshops in our school.
Children who are in pre-primary are shown animated
videos on energy conservation every morning so that the
young minds develop on understanding on why saving
energy is essential.
Our school has installed solar panels on the roof of our
school building.
