REGULATIONS 2013

NOTIFICATION REGARDING FINAL SEMESTER NEW RULES AND REGULATIONS

The following Rules are applicable to all Engineering Colleges affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, to all
Autonomous Colleges and to all the University Colleges of Engineering of Anna University, Chennai.

1. As per the rule of Controller here after final year paper evaluation also going to be in very strict manner. So the
final year students are asked to attend the class properly.
2. Attendance is very important in this semester especially for final year students. Ideally every student is expected
to attend all classes and secure 100% attendance. However, in order to give provision for certain unavoidable
reasons such as Medical / participation in sports / personal, the student is expected to attend at least 85% of the
classes during final semester.
3. Candidates who secure less than 80% of overall attendance shall not be permitted to write the University
examination at the end of the semester, they are required to repeat the incomplete semester in the next academic
year, as per the norms prescribed.
4. The Principal shall constitute a review committee for each branch of study. There shall be three reviews (each 100
Marks) during the semester by the review committee. The student shall make presentation on the progress made
by him / her before the committee. The total marks obtained in the three reviews shall be reduced for 15 marks
and rounded to the nearest integer. (This also implies equal weightage to all the three assessments), 5 marks shall
be given for Attendance.
5. This year onwards the students have to submit the project making video (from starting to end of the project
work). If the students are not submitting the video they shall not be permitted to present the project. This rule is
mainly for practical based education. The faculties are asked to monitor the making of the project (instead of
buying it in project centers). If the project was find it was makes by center, that projects are not permitted.
6. So this year onwards projects are going to be very serious manner.
7. This year onwards students are not allowed to attend the internship during final semester (December- April).
They are requested to concentrate only on their project work and examinations.
8. All the colleges are requested to should not allow the students for internship. If any of the students already
attending the internship, the college responsibility is to retrieve the students to college. Else the action will be
taken against the college.
9. If you allow the students for internship illegally, the severe action will be taken against respected college and
company. After the end of the final semester examination only the students are allowed to attend everything.
