REQUIREMENTS: Artwork must relate to Southern history and culture, ie: Address _______________________________________
landscapes, historical sites, people, events, still life and scenes of our past.
ELIGIBILITY: Artists eighteen years and older are eligible. All work must be original, City, St, Zip ____________________________________
completed within the last two years. All artwork must remain for the duration of the
exhibit. This is a judged exhibit. All entries will be displayed unless they do not meet
the criteria as specified in this prospectus.

FEE: $15 members, $20 non-members, non-refundable for two entries.
SALES and PRICING: SASi will retain 30% Commission from all sales by I have read, understand, and agree with all terms and

SPECIFICATIONS: Two-dimensional work is restricted to 48" by 48" including frame.
Painting (oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel), drawing, sculpture, jewelry, printmaking Signature ______________________________________
and fiber are eligible. All work must be original, completed within the last two years.
Works on paper must be protected by glass or Plexiglas and framed. All work must be Entry #1 Title ___________________________________
properly framed or gallery wrapped (sides properly finished), and wired for hanging.

classroom work, duplicates, giclees or copies. Unacceptable framing includes: clip

Three-dimensional work is limited to 2'x2' of floor space, less than 6' tall and weigh less
than 150 lbs. Three-D work must sit solidly on a flat surface or be properly mounted for
hanging. All work must be presented in a professional manner. Inadequately

PICK UP OF ART: Artwork must be picked up on the scheduled date. Artwork left
beyond 30 days will become property of Southern Arts Society. Fill out COMPLETELY and attach label to upper right corner
LIABILITY: The ARTIST’S insurance must cover their artwork while on premises. on back of each work PLEASE PRINT
Southern Arts Society reserves the right to decline any works that do not meet our
standards or specifications and to withdraw any work from the exhibition at its discretion. 2010 Entry #1

JUDGE: Michael Grady, Chair of the Department of Art, at Appalachian State Title____________________________________________
University. Michael Grady is an exhibiting artist, writer and educator. His work
examines the relationship between art, culture, identity, health and spirituality. Medium___________________ Price______________
Mr. Grady began his art studies at the Boston Museum School, where he was
first exposed to Asian art, philosophies and spiritual practices which have - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - -
remained a strong influence. He received his MFA from Pratt Institute in 1990.
