NEWS LETTER“Sri Rama Jeya Rama” Mantra was chanted during Deepa Pooja, Shivalinga
Pooja and daily by our Balwadi school children, cultural class students and
during monthly meetings by our Balwadi teachers and Social Workers. This
month nearly 9,10,526 times mantras were chanted in 84 localities.
Through 75 Balwadis, 2088 rural Children were nurtured.In all the Balwadis, Malt
along with hygienically prepared highly nutritive lunch with vegetables were served
during the day and in the evening vitamin-rich cereals were provided to the children,
In our Medicare Programme, 2089 paticnts were cxamined and treated for
various common ailments, through 14 Rural Medical Centers in Kanyakumari,
Nellai and Thoothukudi districts.

and 10 & 8 persons participated respectively
Under Adopt a Granny Programme, 31 destitutes and old people
were provided with monthly solatiums, in the form of rice, dhal,
oil, etc., for their livelihood and 105. persons provided with rice
only in Southern five districts of Tamilnadu
Through various branch centres, including Thoothukudi A.O. and book
stalls, literature books were sold for Rs.55,157/-
Durga Pooja conducted at 3 places, in Kanyakumari District in which
186 devotees participated.
Shivalinga Pooja conducted at 3 places in Kanyakumari District and .
174 devotees participated. Tailooring Unit - Certificate
distribution
Yoga Varga has been conducted at 3 places in Aruppukottai and
Kovilpatti where 56 persons attended.
4 tailoring units are functioning well in Nellai district with the total
attendance of 81.
Parents meeting was conducted at 2 places in Kanyakumari&
Thoothukudi district and 50 persons participated .
Under Amrita Surabhi Scheme, our Kendra workers collected
922 Kgs of rice from southern five districts.
Vivekavani Subscriptions for 203 and one for three year and one
Yuva Bharathi and 875 Patron were collected.
Even the least work done for others awakens the power within.Monthly Deepa poojas were organized in 231 village temples in
five districts of Southern Tamilnadu, in which 8735 ladies
participated and offered prayers for the welfare of self, family
and the society.
In 165 Sanskara Vargas, 6213 students participated. The students
were taught about the values of Indian Culture, through games,
lectures & lessons. The feelings of oneness were strengthened
among participants, through patriotic songs and games.
Eye camps were conducted at 3 places, in Kanyakumari ,Nellai and
Ramnad district in which 552 were treated for their eye ailments
and 78 under went cataract operation.S8 persons were given eye
medicines and 26 persons were given spectacles.
Mathru Pooja conducted at Sevalkulam in Thoothukudi district and 30
persons participated .

Kanyakumari Thoothukudi Ramnad Tirunelveli

Cultural conferences held at Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi district in four places and 447 students
from 26 cultural classes participated. In this conferences Vivekanandar Kendra workers,well-wishers
and volunteers attended. Cultural Conference -
Thoothukudi, Kommadikott:Jeyanthi day function was celebrated in Kanyakumari,
Tirunelveli , Thoothukudi, Ramnad, Virudhunagar districts where 2809 people participated
in 77 places.
On 17th November 2105 children from 75 balwadies were given Vegetable rice, Bananas
and Vada in memory of Sri.Bala Subramanian- Bangalore.
On 4th November 103 childrens from 4 balwadies in Tirunelveli district were given
Vegetable rice, Bananas and Vada in memory of Shantha Raman
Urban Inter district level competitions date held at Kanyakumari in Vivekanandapuram
where in 64 students,135 parents and teachers participated.
Personality Development Camps conducted in Vallioor in Tirunelveli district where 100
persons attended.
This month, we have distributed the rice which was collected through Amrita Surabhi
and Anna Pooja to Balwadi children, old poor people and the institutions as mentioned
below :

2. Mouzhanagurupagavan samathi, Mandaikadu - Kanyakumari district - 200 Kgs

On 26.11.2016 our Kendra’s rural competition was held at Ambai. I was on Book Sales. One
Muslim child came to purchase book. After seeing the entire book, she took two books. One was
written by Dr. Abdul Kalam and another one was “Pride of Geetha,” and their parents were also
gave the price of the books, without any hesitation. I saw them with smiling face.
They told “All the Gods are same”. I feel wonder.

On 21.10.2017 I have visited the Creche at Mannarkovil. Two children joined newly on the
‘Ayutha Pooja day. Noon meal was served to all the children. After eating, the newly joined children
stood up and ready to go. But child, near to him, asked to sit and informed to left the place only
after that the teacher mentioned ‘Jai’. Then the children left after taking their plates in their hand.
But this time also the new entrant had not taken plate and left this itself. But the child, met to him
taken the plate of the new entrant also, without any hesitation.
The other teachers who were feeding to the children saw this activities of the children and feel
very happy.
Even the children, who are studying in our Creche having good nature and helping tendency in
their blood.
Ms. V.Rajakumari - Peyankuzhi - Kanyakumari District
K.Asha, North Peyankuzhi is our cultural class student. Due to some family problems, now her
family is with her uncle’s house for the last two months. In that village the people have conducted
programmes like songs, dance and divine show competition, in connection with their temple festival
Asha has also participated in the programme.
After the festival, the elders of the village have discussion about distribution of prizes to the
participants. On hearing this, Asha informed thus, to give books as prize to the participants and also
informed that all type of Human Resources Development books are available in Kendra office,
where her sister also working.
Some of the brothers of the village come to me and request to show the books. After seeing the
books, they purchased books for Rs.1800/-.
This incident touched my heart.
Ms. A.Jeyalakshmi - Kovilpatti- Thoothukudi District
Recently, I was in Achankulam Creche one child name Kalarani was drinking Malt; unexpectedly
the malt was came down from the hands. Seeing this one child named Pradeepa 3 years poured somd
malt in the glass of Kalarani from her glass and asked her to drink. I wondered her character of
giving to others, and it touched my heart.

An Eye camp was being held at Nanguneri on 26th March 2017. When the inaugural function was
going on one of the patient come forward and expressed his interest to speak. We allowed, He told,
“Since Vivekananda Kendra is conducting such kind of programmes, we the poor are gaining some
thing and regaining our vision also. The volunteers of Kendra also doing these services, without
experting anything. It is purely a selfless service. I bless their service and pray to God to continue.”
These words come from his heart. It also touched everybodies heart of that place.
