EXT. OUTER SPACE

Silent and endless. An immense star field shines like

diamonds, cold and remote. It’s a peaceful view.

Against them drifts some dark OBJECT. Hard to tell the

details from a distance, but whatever it is, it’s coming our
way and fast.

More closely, the sunlight bathes the thing revealing a

MASSIVE ALIEN SPACESHIP. Similar to a freighter but ten times
bigger.

As it glides across the screen, the ship shows no sign of

life in there. No lights on or sign of movement.

CAMERA PANS WITH IT 180 to reveal its destination: A MOON. In

fact, our moon.

EXT. LUNAR SURFACE - DAY

A gray landscape, desolate, without many variations of tones,

something really mysterious and beautiful at the same time.

The alien ship descends, without decelerating.

Until finally...

... IT SLAMS INTO THE GROUND head-first, in a silent crash-

landing PLOWING UP gray sand through the moon surface.

When the ship stops its havoc path, dust rises covering most
of the structure as it lies at a slight angle.

HOLD on that shot. The alien spaceship rests on the lunar

ground. Still no sign of life, it’s like a gigantic empty
vessel.

Off that -

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT. RIDGE ABOVE CRASH SITE - MOON - MANY DAYS LATER

In the distance, the ship remains in the same position as

before, motionless.

THEN -
 3.

- AN ASTRONAUT steps into frame. His suit is an old model,

probably not the present day.

This is HARRISON “JACK” SCHMITT.

He stares at the ship, THUNDERSTRUCK.

SCHMITT
(into radio)
Houston, I see the package.

MISSION CONTROL
(over radio)
Roger, Schmitt. Proceed.

Cautiously, Schmitt begins to walk down the small ridge

toward the ship.

EXT. ALIEN SPACESHIP - MOON - DAY

At the crash-site, Schmitt walks up to the massive ship like

a tiny ant.

He walks around, gazing that towering vessel with eyes widen,

astonished. Is even more impressive up close.

Then he finds a huge SCAR on the ship’s hull, an opening into

the ship. Schmitt steps closer.

SCHMITT
(into radio)
I found a passage to enter.
Probably damage by the crash.

After switching on the flashlights of his helmet, Schmitt

walks into the spacecraft through that gap.

INT. ALIEN SPACESHIP - MOON - DAY

DARKNESS. A bit of sunlight enters by thin holes in different

points around the ship.

It’s a vast and cavernous space, easy to get lost in there.

Bigger than any human-made vehicle. It’s EERIE.

A moment later, flashlight beams shine down - scanning.

Schmitt comes in apprehensively, but excited to be there. He

turns his flashlight to various angles, trying to see as much
as he can.

SCHMITT
Houston, I’m in.

Gaped, Schmitt is almost hypnotized by his surroundings.

MISSION CONTROL
(over radio)
What do you see there?

SCHMITT
It’s incredibly large. I think it
would fit an entire vessel here...
no, more than one.

MISSION CONTROL
(over radio)
Any sign of life?

SCHMITT
(looking around)
Negative, Houston. Everything here
seems to be... dead.

He keeps scouring, but the place is like a ghost ship. With

every step Schmitt takes to the bottom of the ship, he’s sure
to be alone.

At that moment, Schmitt feels stepping on a different

surface. Another texture, more gooey and damp.

Schmitt turns his head to his feet, lighting the sole of his
foot and seeing ALIEN BLOOD dirty on his shoe.

SCHMITT
Oh God...

MISSION CONTROL
(over radio)
What?

The astronaut follows the short trail of blood to the corpse:

A PARADEMON from Apokolips. Creatures with lenses in place of
eyes, sharp teeth.

Schmitt falls back, STARTLED. He lights up around and finds

more dead Parademons scattered over the ship - HUNDREDS of
them.

MISSION CONTROL (CONT’D)

(over radio)
Schmitt, what do you see?

He recomposes, a bit nervous.

SCHMITT
I found the bodies. Several of
them, all dead.

MISSION CONTROL
(over radio)
Search more for the territory.
Discover some equipment or object
that might be useful.

With caution, Schmitt walks past those corpses, bewildered by

those strange shapes.

SCHMITT
I’m trying, but my oxygen is
running down and I cannot risk --

SUDDENLY -

- Schmitt STUMBLES ON A SLOPE.

Uncontrollably, Schmitt rolls down the steep slope. He stops

when he reaches a flat relief, lying face down. Motionless.

MISSION CONTROL
(over radio)
Schmitt? Schmitt?! What happened?

Then he stirs.

MISSION CONTROL (CONT’D)

(over radio)
Answer!

Schmitt rests on one knee, recovering his breath.

SCHMITT
I-I’m fine, Houston. I fell into a
kind of inclination. It was my
carelessness.

Schmitt gets on his feet, checks his helmet visor. It is a

miracle the glass is still intact.

As he whirls...

... Schmitt comes across a WIDE CREVICE on the ground.

An absurd trench that extends along the length of almost the

entire floor surface.

HIGH WIDE ON: Schmitt stands on a MASSIVE HYDRAULIC GATEWAY

HALF OPENED.

Schmitt approaches the edge of the slit carefully.

MISSION CONTROL
(over radio)
Take what you can -- anything --
and go back to the module.

SCHMITT
Understood, Houston.

UNKNOW’S POV: Someone - or something - watches Schmitt from

above without him noticing.

On the border, Schmitt leans to try to see something inside

the hole with his flashlight.

All he sees is PITCH BLACK.

It seems to be a bottomless chasm. He crouches down trying to

view the slightest sign of life in there.

Held.

THEN -

- A COUPLE OF RED-SHINNING EYES FLASH in the dark.

That STARTLES Schmitt, making him retreat nervously. He’s not

sure what he saw there.

He gets up, shaking hands, mind churning.

UNKNOW’S POV: Now on the ground, approaching Schmitt from

behind like a predator yearning for its prey. As the
astronaut turns around, the thing CHARGES him fast.

Schmitt SCREAMS in horror.

And all we see is a poor reflection in the visor of a flaming

red-eyed FIGURE with sharp pointed teeth before -

CUT TO:

EXT. LUNAR SURFACE - DAY

Landed on the ground: THE LUNAR MODULE, which reads on its

bodywork - “CHALLENGER”. A LEGEND appears:

LEGEND: “APOLLO 17 MISSION, 1972”

Striding in the distance, Schmitt.

INT. LUNAR MODULE - MOON - DAY

EUGENE CERNAN spots out the window Schmitt coming up. He

picks up his RADIO.

CERNAN
Here is Cernan, Houston. I see
Schmitt out there, he’s coming.

Cernan moves to get his friend.

TIME CUT:

MOMENTS LATER

Both astronauts inside. Schmitt removes his helmet with a

deep breath after a long walk.

Cernan stares at him with an anxious look.

CERNAN
So...?

SCHMITT
What?

CERNAN
Come on, man -- tell me what you
found there. Or was it just
between you and them down there?

SCHMITT
I did not have much time to
explore.

CERNAN
At least you brought some
souvenir?

Schmitt faces him with a discreet grin.

SCHMITT
I guess so.

CLOSE IN on Schmitt’s face. Despite being the same features,

it does not seem to be the same person sitting there.

CUT TO BLACK.

Over black screen, the SOUND of lots of movement. Chaotic.

HURRYING FOOTSTEPS - numerous of them at the same time.

A MALE VOICE authoritarian and angry erupts:

MALE VOICE
Shoot to kill! I want the head of
the bastards in a fucking tray!

EXT. MAIN GATE - LOCUS FACILITY - DAY

SEVERAL LOCUS SOLDIERS mobilize to the gate, armed to the

teeth. A big troop prepared for battle.

Behind them, TWO TANKS stop aiming their barrels at the gate.

Each soldier gets into position, aiming their rifles at the

entrance gate as if they are awaiting a great threat.

BEAT.

On the other side of the gate - GUNFIRE. Screams terrified.

All mixed up in a BEATING UP sound.

Some soldiers exchange nervous looks. Their fingers on the

trigger shake insecurely.

A GREEN LIGHT peek under the gate, which quiets the gunshots
roaring from the other side.

Then a sudden SILENCE.

Hold.

And THEN -

- THE JUSTICE LEAGUE EXPLODES THROUGH THE GATE!

TIME SLOWS as they jump into action in a true comic book

pose: SUPERMAN, WONDER WOMAN, THE FLASH, GREEN LANTERN, J’ONN
J’ONZZ AND AQUAMAN.

BACK TO NORMAL SPEED as Superman SLAMS his fist to the

ground, QUAKING enough to knock down the soldiers of their
balance.

While the team spreads, Superman surveys his surroundings. He

realizes the tanks targeting them.

SUPERMAN
Wonder Woman, J’onn -- the tanks!

Wonder Woman SHATTERS a rifle with her hands as she hears

Superman’s call. She changes her focus to the tanks.

The Amazon flies toward the tanks, but one of them turns
pointing right at her. It FIRES. Wonder Woman shields herself
as...
 9.

... BOOM! SHE TAKES HIT FULL ON, throwing her YARDS back.

ANGLE ON J’ONN, as Wonder Woman falls past him, smoking,

smashing into some stack of boxes.

J’onn turns to the second tank, which begins to take aim at

him too. Like Wonder Woman, J’onn flies toward it.

Midway, the second tank FIRES. But the Martian makes his body
INTANGIBLE letting the projectile PASS THROUGH him like he
was a ghost.

Still intangible, J’onn flows into the tank easily moving

through its hull.

A moment later -

- the tank’s TURRET POPS like the cork of a champagne. J’onn

emerges inside the tank holding the unconscious PILOT by the
collar.

Just beside him, J’onn notices that the other tank has turned
to him, ready to fire.

But there’s a RAGING ROAR oncoming.

Wonder Woman BULLETS for that tank SHOULDER-BUMPING it hard -

CRUMPLING its hull and tipping the vehicle ASIDE.

With her bare hands, Wonder Woman OPENS A RIP in the tank’s
bodywork as if it were made of paper, finding the pilot
inside.

As soon as the man notes her, he FREEZES with his hands up

rather nervously.

Off the pilot’s shocked face:

EXT. OVER LOCUS FACILITY - DAY

Soaring over the base toward the main building, Superman and
Green Lantern. They are targeted by .50 CALIBER SHOTS from
the ground.

SUPERMAN
Do you want to handle this?

GREEN LANTERN
Of course. Find the bastard inside
there.

Superman DIVES as the .50 bullets bounce off him. He CRASHES

through the facility roof, getting into it.

Meanwhile, Green Lantern plunges toward the shooters. They

concentrate fire at him now, but in vain.

As the hero descends, he creates a MACE of green energy.

.50 SHOOTER’S POV: Green Lantern makes his way while the
bullets ricochet on his body. As he SWINGS his mace into
camera -

CUT TO:

EXT. COMPOUND - LOCUS FACILITY - DAY

Following Flash as he runs at SUPER-SPEED across the

compound, KNOCKING OUT every soldier on the way.

The men don’t even know what hit them. We alternate between
SLOW-MO to see Flash bashing down everybody in a row.

SCHREE! Flash skids to stop. He turns around to see those

dozens of soldiers lying on the ground, some fainting and
some painful.

Flash smiles, proud of himself.

But he does not notice a remaining soldier, taking aim at him

from behind. When he’s about to pull the trigger...

... Aquaman comes down by knocking the weapon off the

soldier’s hands and HEADBUTTS him, making the guy faint.

Only now Flash realizes that.

AQUAMAN
You’re welcome. Now you owe me one
more.

THE FLASH
I had everything under control.

ENGINES sound incoming catch Flash’s ears.

THE FLASH (CONT’D)

Are you listening to this?

Aquaman and Flash turn to: THREE JEEPS at speed with two
Locus soldiers inside it. One drives as the other fires.

AQUAMAN
Would you mind?

THE FLASH
Feel at ease, Your Majesty.
 11.

Aquaman draws his trident as he CHARGES that Jeeps. Flash

just watches with folded arms.

The first Jeep can’t brake in time. As it hurtles past the

hero, Aquaman’s trident hits the Jeep’s front tire and SHREDS
it instantly. A split-second later he shreds the rear tire.
The Jeep totters, falls to its side, and barrel rolls across
the ground.

The second Jeep races up. Aquaman DUCKS as he LUGS THE DRIVER
out of the vehicle, leaving it makes its way adrift crashing
into a wall.

The last Jeep accelerates to run over Aquaman.

But the King of Seven Seas whirls and PLUNGES his trident
into the car’s nose, then CATAPULTING it above his head.

The Jeep loops - loosing both passengers - slamming onto the

ground, like the soldiers.

Aquaman turns to Flash and smiles after doing a great job.

Off Flash’s AMAZED stare:

INT. FLOOR - LOCUS FACILITY - DAY

The leader of the organization COMMANDER KARNZ - glum,

middle-age - strides the facility floor flanked by a bunch of
BODYGUARDS and his AIDE.

AIDE
Commander, I must warn you that it
is still a risk to leave the
complex given our current
progression.

COMMANDER KARNZ
If you do not know, we are under
attack. Unforeseen happen, it is
up to us to adapt to them.

AIDE
The problem is that our
contingency space is extremely
limited. Our allies --

Commander Karnz stops and shoots his Aide a fierce look.

COMMANDER KARNZ
I do not care what they require.
Without me, they would be nothing.
Everything will go as planned.

As Commander Karnz turns to walk...

... Superman CRASHES DOWN through the ceiling, hanging in the

air. Karnz’s bodyguards aim their rifles at him.

SUPERMAN
Drop your weapons, for your own
good.

COMMANDER KARNZ
Everybody stand still.

Superman uses his HEAT VISION to warm the rifles enough to

make all the guards drop them.

Then he lands, standing face to face with Karnz.

SUPERMAN
Commander Karnz, I suppose.

COMMANDER KARNZ
The Boy Scout... apparently you
made the homework.

SUPERMAN
In fact, I owe to your men. One of
the facilities we invaded, they
said everything I wanted. You
should better choose your pawns of
war.

COMMANDER KARNZ
Go to hell.

Karnz draws his HANDGUN and points toward Superman’s head, a

few inches from his face.

SUPERMAN
I know your super-weapon is here
somewhere. Parts of this complex
is coated with lead, which
compromises my x-ray vision, so I
want you to take me to it.

COMMANDER KARNZ
Do you think I look like a tour
guide?

SUPERMAN
Yes, I do. Come on, we both know
that you will only be ashamed
before your men with this gun.

Commander Karnz flinches.

SUPERMAN (CONT’D)
Make a good choice.

Off Karnz, defeated and hating it...

INT. HANGAR - LOCUS FACILITY - DAY

BLAM! Superman SMASHES open the door. He enters escorting

Karnz through the room.

There’s every kind of weapon that could kill someone.

Ammunition boxes. Prototypes of advanced weapons still
incomplete, others already prepared.

Superman looks at it with disdain.

COMMANDER KARNZ
What’s it? Have you ever seen a
weapon before?

SUPERMAN
You and your organization spread
these things all over the world.
Do you know how many people have
died because of this?

COMMANDER KARNZ
I never stopped to count.

They stop. Superman steps forward staring at something OFF

SCREEN.

COMMANDER KARNZ (CONT’D)

Are you happy now?

REVERSE ANGLE REVEALS -

- A CHEMICAL MISSILE ready to be launch.

SUPERMAN
(into radio)
I found the weapon. It is a
chemical bomb coupled to a
missile.

GREEN LANTERN
(over radio)
Enabled?

SUPERMAN
Not for long.

Superman walks up to the missile. He pulls out a panel of it,

revealing the internal systems of the rocket.

With the heat vision, Superman begins to MELT all those wires
and circuits as Karnz just watches him.

COMMANDER KARNZ
Do you think it’s that simple?
That destroying weapons around the
world with your metahumans will
bring peace? The market is much
more complex than that.

SUPERMAN
We are cutting evil by the roots,
and you are one of those roots.

After finishing his work, Superman starts to walk away with

Karnz.

COMMANDER KARNZ
You consider yourselves heroes,
saviors of the world, but you are
nothing but aberrations that only
make things worse.

They stop at the door. Superman simply PUSHES Karnz back - a

subtle move - but with the super-strength, he slams his head
hard in the wall and faints.

SUPERMAN
Just shut up.

Superman puts the unconscious Commander on one shoulder and

turns once more to all that arsenal around.

The Man of Steel fires his heat vision into all that
paraphernalia, leaving the entire hangar on fire consuming
the armaments.

Then, he turns and walks out.

EXT. COMPOUND - LOCUS FACILITY - DAY

Aftermath. All the Locus soldiers stand on their knees,

rendered. Some badly injured.

Flash, Aquaman and Wonder Woman oversee all them. J’onn

arrives with two more soldiers and places them with the
others.

J’ONN
These are the last.

Visibly impatient, Wonder Woman randomly chooses a soldier

and drags him from the group. The other heroes stare,
confused.

THE FLASH
Wonder Woman...?

She forces the soldier to stand on his knees facing the other
prisoners. Nervously, he can’t say anything.

As Wonder Woman grabs a rifle from the ground, J’onn

approaches her.

J’ONN
What are you doing?

WONDER WOMAN
Sometimes the best way to teach is
by giving a practical example.

The Amazon stands behind the chosen one facing at the others
ahead.

WONDER WOMAN (CONT’D)

Listen up! I want all you look
carefully at me.

All eyes turn to her.

WONDER WOMAN (CONT’D)

(raises the rifle)
This weapon of mortals, despite
being noisy, it’s even more deadly
than a sword. And the saddest
thing was that I witnessed several
times men as you use it against
women, children, men... your
brothers.

Wonder Woman SPLITS the rifle in a single squeeze.

WONDER WOMAN (CONT’D)

I’m tired of this reality.

THE FLASH
(to Aquaman)
That’s not good.

WONDER WOMAN
I will show you what will happen
the next time someone who touch a
gun again.
 16.

In a swift move, Wonder Woman picks up her LASSO and wraps it

around the man’s neck before her, CHOKING him.

AQUAMAN
Princess!

Flash DASHES up to Wonder Woman trying to stop her, but it’s

like trying to move a steady solid wall.

THE FLASH
Please, stop!

WONDER WOMAN
They need to learn!

The warrior YANKS Flash away. J’onn and Aquaman come for her.

WONDER WOMAN (CONT’D)

Stay right there!

J’ONN
You know that will not happen,
Diana.

When it looks like there will be a fight between the

heroes...

... BAM. Superman lands on the scene, carrying the fainted

Commander Karnz, and interrupting the moment.

SUPERMAN
What do you think you’re doing?

Wonder Woman loosens her lasso, leaving the poor soldier on

four, catching his breath. Superman puts Karnz on the ground
and steps closer to her.

SUPERMAN (CONT’D)
You did not realize what you was
doing? That’s not how we act!

WONDER WOMAN
We’ve had this discussion before,
Kal.

SUPERMAN
And it seems that you have not
learned. We are a team now, we
save people, not the opposite.

WONDER WOMAN
While men like him walk on the
Earth, the innocents will not be
safe.
 17.

SUPERMAN
It’s up to us to reverse this, but
in the right way. You understood
me?

BEAT as both of them stare into each other eyes.

Then Green Lantern arrives from the skies, joining his

comrades.

GREEN LANTERN
I did a full scan of the area and
there’s no one left. I contacted
Interpol and they will send a team
to arrest all them.

Superman just nods. Green Lantern realizes a tense mood

around there.

GREEN LANTERN (CONT’D)

Huh... I missed something?

Wonder Woman approaches the man she nearly killed to get her
lasso back. The soldier trembles in fear.

WONDER WOMAN
(whispers to the man)
Thank the gods before sleep for
this day.

After collecting her lasso, Wonder Woman TAKES OFF. Green

Lantern turns to Superman.

GREEN LANTERN
What’s the problem with her?

SUPERMAN
She’s still getting used to the
new life.

EXT. SKY - DUSK

AN EMERALD JET - made by the Green Lanter’s ring energy -

ROCKETS across the open sky.

INT. EMERALD JET - DUSK

The interior is a perfect replica of a transport jet, made of

pure solid energy.

Green lantern pilots as the others rest on the back. Flash

pulls off his mask, revealing the face of BARRY ALLEN.

BARRY
So... finally it’s over?

SUPERMAN
Yes, Barry. We end up with Karnz
and all his terrorist cells around
the world. Those weapons will not
circulate around the world anytime
soon.

AQUAMAN
The surface world’s science is a
real evil to its inhabitants.

SUPERMAN
It’s not always the fault of
science, Arthur, but of who uses
it.

Barry glances at J’onn, quiet in the corner.

BARRY
Hey J’onn.
(off look)
You’re coming to the big party,
right?

J’ONN
Big party?

BARRY
Yeah, after tomorrow. It will be
the inauguration of our first and
official headquarters! Can you
believe that?

GREEN LANTERN
It was time. We deserve something
better than that cave.

SUPERMAN
The cave it’s not so bad.

BARRY
We’ll complete two years of
teamwork saving the world, we
deserve a real celebration. You
will come, Arthur, right?

AQUAMAN
Sorry, Barry. I promised to Mera
spend more time with her,
especially with the baby.

BARRY
Hal?

GREEN LANTERN
Of course, bro.

BARRY
J’onn?

J’ONN
I don’t know... I think I’m not
ready for this kind of public
setting.

WONDER WOMAN
You should go, J’onn. Every great
warrior deserves at least a moment
of festivities.

AQUAMAN
I agree.

BARRY
You heard the Amazon.

J’ONN
I will think about it.

BARRY
I’ll take that as a “yes.” What
about the Bat? Does anyone have
news of him?

SUPERMAN
You know how he is, Barry, always
the lone wolf.

BARRY
But he is a member of the League.
(beat)
Isn’t?

EXT. COMPOUND - LOCUS FACILITY - NIGHT

An entire INTERPOL SQUAD filled the place. They escort

Commander Karnz and his men into helicopters, all handcuffed.

With all the prisoners inside, two of the helicopters take

flight. The third is preparing to leave.

But before closing the door of the chopper, an INTERPOL AGENT

spots something in the distance: THREE more AGENTS heading
towards the main building.

INTERPOL AGENT
(calls out)
Hey! We’re leaving now!

The three continue their way as if they have not listened.

INTERPOL AGENT (CONT’D)

Hey!

INT. LOCUS FACILITY - NIGHT

The door squeaks when opened by the three agents. They walk
in the empty place. The TALLER AGENT surveys his
surroundings.

[NOTE: From now on, dialogues in italics mean MARTIAN

LANGUAGE, SUBTITLED]

TALLER AGENT
It must be somewhere. Let’s find
out.

As they spread through the area, scouring -

TIME CUT:

MOMENTS LATER

The YOUNG AGENT finds something on the floor. He pushes a few

tables and boxes away revealing a VERTICAL LINE on the floor.
A secret passage.

YOUNG AGENT
It’s here.

The other two join him.

The Taller Agent crouches down and puts his hands in that
thin slot. With a superhuman strength, he begins to force
open that door on the floor.

INT. UNDERGROUND LAB - LOCUS FACILITY - NIGHT

Total shadow. The three agents go down the stairs into the
laboratory. One of them turns on the switch, revealing:

A chaos of ULTRA-MODERN TECHNOLOGY. A scientific room packed

with equipment we’ve never seen before. Prototypes of human
weapons strangely modified into alien-like designs.

The three agents walk through the room, uninterested with all
that paraphernalia around.

At a table at the bottom of the room, the Taller Agent picks

up a small METAL CASE and opens it.

Inside: A TRACKER DEVICE. Its design resembles that of those

modified weapons. The agent grabs it.

TALLER AGENT
We have what we want. We are ready
for the next step now.

EXT. GOTHAM CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT - DAY

JOHN JONES (aka Martian Manhunter) steps out the department

with his coat resting on the shoulder.

There he finds SAMUEL BRADLEY, his partner propped up in his

car, waiting.

BRADLEY
Ride?

John smiles.

INT. BRADLEY’S CAR - DAY

Bradley drives down the streets as John sits at his side.

JOHN
I heard the rumors at the station.
It is true?

BRADLEY
(sighs)
Yes, it’s true. I’m sorry I
haven’t told you, after all, we
are partners.

JOHN
It’s okay for me. Each person has
his personal reasons.

BRADLEY
Unbelievable. You do not ever get
angry? Even for a second?

JOHN
Are you complaining about having a
good friendship?

They exchange smiles.

BRADLEY
But things have changed for real
now, John. When Liz told me about
the baby, I knew it was time to
take a choice.

JOHN
You always said you wanted to move
from Gotham, now is your chance,
buddy.

BRADLEY

Bradley and John arrive at the desert and abandoned place.

They exit the car, looking around. No sign of life.

BRADLEY
It looks like a ghost area.

JOHN
The construction has been
paralyzed since the diversion of
money the owner has been proven.

BRADLEY
Corruption in Gotham? I’m
surprised.

The two detectives begin to walk across the space, scanning

for any clue about the patrol.

A moment after walking and looking, John spots a not so

distant CRUISER stopped.

JOHN
Bradley, over there.

As they approach the vehicle, they find it also abandoned,

with the doors open for some time.

While Bradley rummages around the car, John closes his eyes
concentrating his Martian TELEPATHY to find the cops.

BRADLEY
They seem to have hurried out.

John opens his eyes, he felt something.

JOHN
I don’t have a good feeling about
this.

BRADLEY
Me neither. Where could these guys
have gone?

John glances beyond the fence noticing the entrance of a

SERVICE TUNNEL.

JOHN
I have an idea, but you may not
like it.

Bradley turns around to the service tunnel and realizes.

BRADLEY
It was like you said, it’s our
last time in action. Let’s make it
worth.

John gives him a nod.

INT. SERVICE TUNNEL - DAY

It’s almost pitch black in there. The light beams from the
two detectives’ flashlights are the only ones illuminating
the path.

BRADLEY
You know, John... I’m starting to
regret it.

JOHN
There is no turning back now.

No sign of anyone besides the two of them, but they keep

going deep in the darkness. John closes his eyes again, using
his telepathy once more.

BRADLEY
Even if we find the cops down
here, I do not know if --

SUDDENLY -

- John CRIES OUT feeling a terrible HEADACHE, hard enough to

make him drop the flashlight and grab his head.

Bradley STARTLES as John falls on his knees, agonizing.

BRADLEY (CONT’D)
John?!

Bradley approaches his friend, trying to help.

BRADLEY (CONT’D)
John! What is going on? Talk with
me!

CLOSE IN on John’s face. Veins leaping under his forehead.

The pain is too intense for him to respond.

CUT TO:

A CHAOTIC FLASH OF COLLIDING IMAGES.

Fragments. Memories.

All images are from John’s mind. We see scenes of the Justice
League acting on various missions, images of the battle
against the Center, King Faraday, Dr. Erdel and finally -

A MARS LANDSCAPE.

Vast red land. Mountains and sand everywhere. Looming in the

distance: A MARTIAN CITY.

PULL BACK to J’ONN - in his primal shape - resting on his

knees staring at the city. He’s AWESTRUCK and at the same
time scared by it all.

J’onn looks at himself and the surrounding environment,

uncertain whether this is real or not.

As tears stream down his cheeks, we hear:

BRADLEY (V.O.)
John! John, wake up!

Then -

SMASH CUT TO:

EXT. SERVICE TUNNEL ENTRANCE - DAY

Out of the tunnel, John lies unconscious on the ground while

Bradley tries to wake him up.

BRADLEY
Come on, you can not have a
breakdown now.

THEN -

- John JOLTS wake up, gasping. And sits up, catching his
breath. Bradley sighs in relief.

BRADLEY (CONT’D)
Thank God.

JOHN
What... what happened?

BRADLEY
What -- you just collapsed there.
I had to carry you out and hope
you get back to normal.

JOHN
What about the police officers?
Any sign of them?

BRADLEY
Nothing. At least not as far as we
were.
(beat)
What happened to you there? It was
the first time I saw you pass out
that way.

JOHN
I don’t know.

Off John’s puzzled face:

EXT. FERRIS AIRCRAFT - NIGHT

Establishing.

INT. LOCKER ROOM - FERRIS AIRCRAFT - NIGHT

HAL JORDAN strips off his pilot uniform.

FEMALE VOICE (O.S.)

Well, well, look who I found here.

He turns to CAROL FERRIS at the doorway.

HAL
Miss Ferris, what a coincidence.

Hal walks up to her, all in his charm.

HAL (CONT’D)
We meet here again. I’m beginning
to think you’re following me.

CAROL
Funny, I would tell you the same.

They kiss, but Carol interrupts the moment.

CAROL
Easy, boy. Here I am the boss and
you are the pilot.

HAL
Wow, that’s cold heart. You know
how I behave with the rules.

CAROL
(grins)
Yeah, I know.

HAL
I’m alone here and you may need a
little help.

CAROL
Not today, Jordan. There is a lot
of paperwork for me to solve yet.

HAL
Let the papers go away, they can
not do this...

He kisses Carol once more. She seizes the moment for a few
seconds before breaking the kiss again.

CAROL
My work doubled after Faraday’s

The gleaming Green Lantern SOARS over the city, contrasting

his light with the dark below.

EXT. BUILDING ROOFTOP - NIGHT

The martian Manhunter stands on the edge of the building,

gazing at the streets like a statue.

Green Lantern arrives, hovering in the air before J’onn.

GREEN LANTERN
Well, here I am.

J’ONN
I’m sorry, Hal, but I would not
call you here if it were not
necessary.

GREEN LANTERN
You owe me one. So, what’s the
problem?

J’ONN
Come with me.

J’onn flies off, leading Green Lantern through the sky.

EXT. SERVICE TUNNEL ENTRANCE - NIGHT

Both heroes stand at the entrance, facing the darkness path

in the tunnel.

GREEN LANTERN
You called me here for a patrol in
Gotham sewers? Really?

J’ONN
It was like I said, I would not
call you here if necessary.
There’s something there that I’m
not sure what it is.

GREEN LANTERN
So let’s know what lurks there.

With his ring, Green Lantern generates a powerful beam of

light like a flashlight.

As they walk into the tunnel, we -

DISSOLVE TO:

INT. SERVICE TUNNEL - LATER

The double walk down the sewer. Green Lantern lights all the
way.

GREEN LANTERN
So... how are you sure that there
is something down here?

J’ONN
Me and my partner were looking for
two missing policemen. And while
we were here, I felt something
invading my mind.

Green Lantern reacts.

GREEN LANTERN
Why you not warned the League
about it?

J’ONN
I’m not sure about that. I do not
want to generate a commotion for
nothing.

GREEN LANTERN
Makes sense.

J’ONN
Besides... I fear that whatever
have here, is not of this world.
(off look)
You are also a member of the Green
Lantern Corps, no one better to
assess the situation.

The two slip into -

INT. SEWERS - CONTINUOUS

They down through maze of tunnels. As they descend deeper,

find a wider and more spacious sewage. Their footsteps echo
throughout that cavernous space as they go down.

GREEN LANTERN
I think we got somewhere. Hang on.

Green Lantern raises his hand above the head, and from the
ring emerges four huge FLOODLIGHTS that scatter by the four
corners of the chamber.

The intense green light illuminates the entire room,

revealing an environment that has been unveiled a short time
ago.

We can see metal tables lying on the floor, equipment of all

kinds, etc.

J’ONN
Whoever was here, hastily left.

GREEN LANTERN
Who the hell would live here?

INT. BATCAVE - NIGHT

Focusing on the elevator door. Someone is coming.

As the door opens: ALFRED, the faithful butler of the Wayne

family, walks into the cave toting a food tray.

He begins to climb the stairways, reaching the...

... COMMAND LEVEL where BRUCE WAYNE sits at his bank of

monitors, intent.

ALFRED
I thought about bringing your
dinner, Master Bruce, considering
that I barely saw you eat in the
last few days. But I suspect you
will refuse... again.

WAYNE
I’m glad you’re already learning,
Alfred.

Alfred places the tray on a table stuffed with equipment.

Then he picks up a damaged GRAPPLING HOOK.

ALFRED
Another damaged grappling hook?
Maybe you should rethink your
weight, sir.

WAYNE
I think about diets later, Alfred.

Alfred gives back the hook to the table and steps beside
Wayne, also watching the monitors.

ALFRED
Security cameras? Another invasion
plan?

WAYNE
In fact, it’s already invaded. An
hour ago, one of the WayneTech
satellites issued a missed signal
alert. And when I checked the
cameras in the building...

Wayne clicks on his keyboard. Some monitors switch the image

to SNOW. Offline.

WAYNE (CONT’D)
... only static.

ALFRED
Can not just be a defective in the
satellite?

WAYNE
If it’s my property, no. Indeed,
quite a coincidence the two
occurrences, still worth a look.

Wayne gets up, takes his UTILITARY BELT and binds it around
his waist. He begins to fill the pockets of his belt with
some weaponry on that table.

WAYNE

ALFRED
The inauguration of the Justice
League headquarters. You were
invited.

WAYNE
You know that Batman does not work
very well in public.

ALFRED
But he helped the League in recent
years, besides to help save the
world from a giant island.

WAYNE
They act around the world, I act
in Gotham. A man can not walk
among the gods.

ALFRED
They are not only gods, are
friends too.

Wayne reacts.

WAYNE
You love trying to convince me

ALFRED

Bruce grabs the iconic COWL and walks down the stairs. Alfred
glances at the monitors and notes a file folder named “PLAN
B”.

ALFRED (CONT’D)
I suppose you’ll not use the Plan
B.

WAYNE
I’m still working on it.

As Wayne leaves, we STAY with Alfred, which begins to work on

that damaged grappling hook.

The ROAR of a powerful ENGINE take us to:

EXT. LAKE - NIGHT

The moon reflects gracefully on the calm surface of the

water. The silence is broken by a loud HYDRAULIC NOISE.

The reflection of the moon splits in two, just like the

water, revealing that there is actually a huge SUBMERGED
GATE.

The lake water pours into a tunnel lit by a row of lamps on

either side. A couple of headlights from an oncoming vehicle
shines in our way, running fast.

And finally...

... THE BATMOBILE BLASTS THROUGH THE RAMP, landing onto a

steel lane discreetly underwater, which leads to the land.

The Batmobile speeds away into the forest.

EXT. WAYNETECH - NIGHT

Establishing.

INT. MAIN LAB - WAYNETECH - NIGHT

There are two scientists lying on the ground, DEAD. A third

one works on the computer with that strange tracker device
plugged into the CPU.

A moment later, TWO ENGINEERS come in.

SCIENTIST
As we are?

FEMALE ENGINEER
All cameras are offline. We ended
up with the remaining guards.

MALE ENGINEER
What about the satellite? Some
progress, sir?

SCIENTIST
For now no complications.
Everything is going as planned.

The woman begins to SNIFF something that catches her

attention in the air.

FEMALE ENGINEER
Are you feeling it?
 34.

The others pause and sniff the same thing.

MALE ENGINEER
We have a visitor.

SCIENTIST
I clearly said no witnesses.

MALE ENGINEER
Yes, sir.

FEMALE ENGINEER
Whoever it is, it’s not from the
building. It seems to be an
outsider.

SCIENTIST
Take care of him. Nothing can fail
at this point.

Both engineers turn and walk away.

INT. HALLWAY - WAYNETECH - MOMENTS LATER

The two engineers walk down the corridor scanning all the
rooms they pass by, looking for their prey as hunters.

FEMALE ENGINEER
His trace disappeared from here.

MALE ENGINEER
It’s weak... he knows what he
does.

Before taking the next step, the female stops sensing

something. The man turns to her, confused.

MALE ENGINEER
What?

She tilts her head up, staring at the ceiling.

After a grin, the female engineer LEAPS high up, PLUGING HER
HAND through the AIR DUCT. As she returns to the ground...

... she PULLS BATMAN OUT THE DUCT - who was hidden there -
slamming him on the floor between her and the male engineer.

MALE ENGINEER (CONT’D)

Well, well... look what we have
here.

Batman rests on one knee, recomposing himself.

FEMALE ENGINEER
Do you want to do the honors?

MALE ENGINEER
If you insist.

Off Batman’s intrigued face after hearing that language...

... the male engineer grabs his throat, lifting him off the
ground. He slams the hero against the wall.

MALE ENGINEER (CONT’D)

It will be quite rewarding kill a
legend.

The engineer begins to squeeze Batman’s throat, choking him

gradually.

BATMAN
(breathlessly)
What are you doing with the
satellite?

MALE ENGINEER
You have courage. Now I see you’re
different from the others.

BATMAN
I think that we agree.

The female engineer notes Batman taking something in his belt

- a FLASH GRENADE.

FEMALE ENGINEER
Watch out!

Batman closes his eyes as he DETONATES the grenade in a

blinding FLASH OF LIGHT, stunning both engineers.

They grab their eyes, painful. Batman is gone.

MALE ENGINEER’S POV: As his blurred vision returns to normal,

a BLACK SHAPE charges him. Batman.

The Dark Knight PUNCHES the man in the face twice before
slamming him in the wall, angry.

BATMAN
I asked about the satellite! What
are you doing with it?

Before the man could say anything...

 36.

... the woman surprises Batman from behind with a CHOKE HOLD.
She takes him away, strangling the hero.

Batman tries to get rid of her, but that woman is stronger

than she looks.

The male engineer ADVANCES ready for a next assault. Batman

realizes that and hits his both feet into the engineer’s
chest.

But the impact jerks Batman and the female engineer

backwards...

INT. RESTROOM - WAYNETECH - CONTINUOUS

... CRASHING through the door.

Batman and the woman rise at the same time, taking distance
from each other. The vigilante assumes his fighting position.

BEAT as they stare each other in silence.

Batman LASHES into female with a rapid COMBINATION! The

female COUNTERS. Then Batman. Back and forth it goes.

We witness the Dark Knight’s great martial skills. The

engineer can not keep up with him and takes several blows.

Batman ends up with a ROUNDHOUSE KICK right in her face,

dropping her face down on the ground. Batman stands,
believing that he have won the fight, breathing hard. But...

... the woman climbs to her feet again perfectly healthy, as

if all those blows had not given the least effect.

Batman stares, incredulous.

THEN -

- the male LUNGES INTO FRAME hitting Batman with a kick,

which throws him into a restroom box, smashing the door.

The man advances toward Batman ready to kill him. As he

SWIPES his fist...

... Batman covers behind the box’s door, letting the fist
CRASH through the wood a few inches from Batman.

Batman FLIPS the door onto male engineer, making him stagger
back. Batman seizes the moment to get up and THWACKS the
engineer with the door, knocking him down.
 37.

The female engineer comes from behind. Batman DODGES and uses
his techniques to immobilize her.

BATMAN
I’ll give you one last chance to
say what I want or I will choose a
bone to break.

She grouches in an alien language. We don’t understand a

word, but she’s furious. Batman presses her head against the
ground.

BATMAN (CONT’D)
In my language!

But SUDDENLY -

- A COUPLE OF LASER BEAMS whiz past a few inches from

Batman’s head, blowing a hole in the wall.

Batman turns around to the Scientist standing at the door

with red shinning eyes.

SCIENTIST
Get away from her.

No choices, Batman releases the female. He puts the hands in

the air, rendered. She gets up, angry.

FEMALE ENGINEER
Let me kill him, sir.

SCIENTIST
Not yet. I want to see what he
knows.
(in English)
If not mistaken, they call you
Batman, right? Why are you so
interested in that satellite?

BATMAN
You tell me.

SCIENTIST
We are scientists, it’s what we
do. Experiments.

BATMAN
No... you are not scientists. You
are something that pretends to be
a scientist.
 38.

SCIENTIST
I’m really surprised.
Unfortunately, I can not let you
live with this information.

BATMAN
And fortunately, it is not up to
you to decide this.

As the Scientist’s eyes light up ready to fire again, Batman

draws a SMOKE BOMB and blasts it inside the restroom, filling
the whole room in a cloud of smoke.

INT. HALLWAY - WAYNETECH - NIGHT

Smoke leaks from the restroom into the hallway. The three
experts leave the room looking for Batman, but he
disappeared.

MALE ENGINEER
Where did he go?

FEMALE ENGINEER
He ran-away. I can feel him moving
away.

MALE ENGINEER
He should not have gone far, I can
bring him back and kill him.

SCIENTIST
No. Let’s not waste time with him
now, what should be done is done.

MALE ENGINEER
But he saw what we were doing,
sir, he can --

The Scientist grips the male engineer’s throat, cutting off

his words.

SCIENTIST
Lower your voice with me. He has
seen us but has no idea what we
are doing, and when he finds out,
it will be too late.

He looses the throat, letting the engineer catch his breath.

SCIENTIST (CONT’D)
Time to go.

The Scientist starts to walk out. The female engineer follows

him as the male still recomposes on four.

EXT. METROPOLIS - DAY

An AIRBORNE view of the city.

EXT. S.T.A.R. LABS - DAY

People crowd the courtyard of the high-tech Google-like

facility. Families, teenagers, groups of friends stroll
around.

At an ice cream vendor, Clark Kent buys an ice cream for him
and DIANA - the Wonder Woman, now dressed like an office
secretary.

CLARK
(to the vendor)
Thank you.

After paying the vendor, the two start to walk away. Diana
tastes the ice cream and loves it.

DIANA
This is worthy of a banquet of the
gods. That man should be proud of
his work.

CLARK
There are more of these in larger
amounts if you want.

DIANA
I will, for sure.

Diana glances at the building, curious.

DIANA (CONT’D)
What is this great structure for?

CLARK
It is Metropolis’ new science and
research center, which I hope will
see great progress in the future.
Despite being funded by Lex
Luthor.

DIANA
Why the authorities do nothing
against Luthor? Why do not you
throw him into a cell?

A simple, unassuming house in a run-down Blue-collar

neighborhood. A scrappy postage-stamp front yard.

Barry has just come home from work and walks into the house.

INT. LIVING ROOM - BARRY AND IRIS’ HOUSE - DAY

Tired, Barry begins to remove his work clothes and puts it on

the couch.

BARRY
Babe, I’m...

He turns to the dinning room, coming across with...

... IRIS ALLEN seated at the table, drinking coffee, and with
THE FLASH’S SUIT resting on it.

Barry FREEZES.

BARRY (CONT’D)
Iris...?

IRIS
Always late, Barry. How ironic.

There is no escape for Barry now.

BARRY

IRIS
Since Flash began acting in the
League. His voice, his way of
speaking in interviews gave me a

Barry sits next to Iris, grabbing his head, disappointed with

Exotic plants and algae sway gently underwater. Aquaman and

his wife MERA make a romantic walk through that area.

MERA
It’s been a long time since we’ve
done this.

AQUAMAN
I know, so I decided to make up
for it as soon as possible.

MERA
Did you have to miss a meeting of
your super-team?

AQUAMAN
That’s some kind of... jealous?

MERA
Not exactly. But not every woman
who shares her husband for being a
“superhero”.

surprising, after all, he was one
of the main financiers of the

None of the superheroes have been
seen so far, but the party is
already heating up.

We arrive at the HALL OF JUSTICE. The new operations base of

the Justice League. A massive building that stands out in the
city.

Swarming it, a bustling hive of people. News helicopters fly

above the building, reporting everything.

EXT. FRONT ENTRY - HALL OF JUSTICE - NIGHT

There is a long red carpet that extends into the building.

Over there pass: generals and colonels of high importance,
government officials, celebrities, world leaders, etc.

One of those people, STEVE TREVOR. As he strides across the

carpet, all the reporters around churn up wanting to talk to
him.

VARIOUS VOICES
Major Trevor -- what about the
rumors that-- you and Wonder Woman
are -- some direct relationship to
Justice League -- please, Major!--

Steve ignores all questions and enters the building.

INT. HALL OF JUSTICE - NIGHT

A packed party. The guests fill the hall as far as the eye
can reach. Waiters and waitresses roam around with their

The party claps at the US PRESIDENT, waving to them.

As the announcer speaks, CAMERA PANS ACROSS the guests.

who saved us were exactly the ones
we judged.

ANNOUNCER (CONT’D)
And in recognition of their work,
our President, with the help of a
few billionaires who wanted to

The announcer turns to curtains right behind him.

ANNOUNCER (CONT’D)
... THE JUSTICE LEAGUE!

The curtains open revealing the JUSTICE LEAGUE standing in a

heroic pose - Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green
Lantern and J’onn J’onzz.

Off them, as the claps erupt -

CUT TO:

EXT. SUPERMAX - NIGHT

A maximum security prison resembling an impenetrable

fortress.

INT. MAIN CORRIDOR - SUPERMAX - NIGHT

A SUPERMAX GUARD makes his way, carrying a meal tray, up

until a security checkpoint, where he passes through some
security procedures.

Two other guards check the tray and the guard himself who
carries it with high-tech equipment.

All clear. The guard with the tray is free to proceed and
enters the elevator.

INT. HIGH SECURITY LEVEL - SUPERMAX - NIGHT

Some levels below, the elevator door opens. Our guard walks
through the corridor past several cells with steel doors and
electronic locks.

At the end of the corridor, he stops in a specific cell.

INT. COMMANDER KARNZ’S CELL - SUPERMAX - NIGHT

Lying in bed reading a book is Commander Karnz. The guard

opens the door. Karnz does not even look at him.

I’m not hungry.

SUPERMAX GUARD
You still need to eat, Commander.

COMMANDER KARNZ

The guard grins.

SUPERMAX GUARD

He closes the door and locks it. Karnz glances at him,

AT THIS MOMENT -

- the guard starts to MORPH. Like the Martian Manhunter, he

changes his shape - clothes, skin, hairs, everything -
becoming: PROTEX. A WHITE MARTIAN.

Angular, hairless, chalky white skin. His eyes are a vibrant

red, nails and teeth sharp as blades.

PROTEX
... conversation.

But Karnz is not at all surprised by that figure. He sits up

on his bed.

COMMANDER KARNZ
Well, well, look who’s homesick.
Know that you are too late.

PROTEX
There were minor complications
along the way. Nothing I could not
solve, of course.

COMMANDER KARNZ
Great. What are you waiting for?
Get me out of here.

PROTEX
I think you misread my visit,
Commander.

COMMANDER KARNZ
What do you mean?

PROTEX
I came here for, how do you say?
“Cut some loose ends.”

Karnz gets on his feet, indignantly.

COMMANDER KARNZ
We had a deal, you bastard!

purpose is complete.

COMMANDER KARNZ
My men will not obey the things
like you. If anything happens to
me, they have the order to burn
your entire race into coal.

Karnz opens a winning smile.

PROTEX
What men, Commander? The Justice
League has ended your
organization, they’re all stuck in
a cell now like you. Guess who
told them the location of your
entire terrorist network?

The Commander’s smile disappears as Protex opens his own,

looking like a scary shark.

COMMANDER KARNZ
(flinches)
Why are you going to kill me? I
pose no threat to you.

Protex walks calmly toward Karnz as he retreats.

PROTEX
You know too much, Commander, and
I’d hate to risk being disturbed
by you.

Karnz leans his back against the wall, there’s nowhere else
to go.

COMMANDER KARNZ
I should never have trusted you,
you son of a bitch.

PROTEX
If it’s any consolation, for a
moment I thought to go ahead with
our deal. But as you said...

Protex’s CLAWS arise like lethal knives.

PROTEX (CONT’D)

As Protex swings his claws into Karnz, we -

Back at the celebration. The Justice League is scattered

around the hall talking to a few guests.

ON GREEN LANTERN -

Encircled by four beautiful women, all charmed by him. Green

Lantern creates a 3D holographic image of the UNIVERSE.

GREEN LANTERN
-- And after the alien gave me the
emerald ring, it brought me
here...

The holographic image ZOOMS in a single planet.

GREEN LANTERN (CONT’D)

... Oa, the planet of the Green
Lantern Corps, where all of us
reunite.

Despite the 3D show, the women only have eyes for the hero.

BLONDE
Wow! It should be very exciting
flying through space.

GREEN LANTERN
You get used to it.

BLONDE
I’d love to take a walk any day, I

As the Prime Minister leaves, the US President comes up to

the Man of Steel, accompanied by someone.

US PRESIDENT
Oh, Superman, finally found you. I
want to introduce you to one of
the main financiers of the Justice
League’s headquarters. Mr. Oliver
Queen.

OLIVER QUEEN. Eccentric handsome billionaire. He and Superman

shake hands.

SUPERMAN
It’s a pleasure, Mr. Queen. Thanks
for the support.

OLIVER
Well, it was a great investment,
and now I see that I do not need
to regret it.

They laugh.

US PRESIDENT
Mr. Queen is the main manager of
Starling City. He volunteered for
the League’s headquarters project
when he heard about it.

SUPERMAN
Starling City? It’s the city
where...

OLIVER
Where that “Robin Hood” acts, yes.
It seems that this heroic age
inspired even the crazy ones.

Hall, hurried.

INT. HALL OF JUSTICE - NIGHT

On J’onn J’onzz, talking with a bunch of reporters.

REPORTER #1
Since the emergence of the Justice
League, the wave of new heroes has
grown all over the world. Do you
plan to increase membership?

J’ONN
We have already discussed this and
we have some names in mind. But we
have to be sure to confirm
something concrete.

REPORTER #2
And is there a confirmed name on
the waiting list?

J’ONN
Yes, the Justice League is getting
in touch with --

J’onn suddenly stops, like a hunting dog that noticed

something. He spots Wayne among the guests.

ON SUPERMAN -

As he also spots Wayne, staring right at him seriously.

SUPERMAN
Excuse.

Superman departs from Oliver Queen and the President...

... to join Bruce away from the others.

SUPERMAN (CONT’D)
Now that’s a surprise. It would be
better if you had come with the
cowl.

WAYNE

SUPERMAN

Yesterday I discovered that the
systems of Wayne Tech were being
violated. I managed to intercept
the invaders...

Seeing Superman and Wayne talking privately. He forgets the

reporters completely.

J’onn pushes through the guests toward Wayne and Superman.

ON WAYNE AND SUPERMAN -

SUPERMAN

- J’onn SCREAMS painful, which catch everyone’s attention.

Superman rushes toward his friend.

ON J’ONN -

On his knees among the guests, grabbing his head hard. The
people stare at him confused.

Flash shows up beside him in a blink and tries to calm an

agonized J’onn.

THE FLASH
J’onn, what’s happening?!

J’onn does not seem to hear Flash, the pain inside his mind
is immeasurable.

Green Lantern pushes through the crow, followed by Superman

and Wayne. Wonder Woman and Steve also come up.

GREEN LANTERN
Flash, why is he like this?

THE FLASH
I don’t know!

Green Lantern turns to the guests around:

GREEN LANTERN
Okay, guys, you better move away
to give more space to our friend.
Let’s find out what’s going on.

People start to walk away, but still worried. Meanwhile,

J’onn babbles a few words, trying to speak. Flash leans
closer to him.

THE FLASH
Say it again, J’onn.

J’ONN
H-He... He is...

Green Lantern also pays attention.

J’ONN (CONT’D)
He i-is here... I can f-feel...
his... m-mind...

GREEN LANTERN
Who are you talking about, J’onn?

With great effort, J’onn raises his index finger pointing at

someone in the crowd.

The Lantern gets on alert, ready to use his ring.

GREEN LANTERN (CONT’D)

I need a more specific target.

J’onn keeps pointing. People move away avoiding his aim,

until we find a high-ranking GENERAL, who is a jitters after
seeing Martian’s finger pointing straight at him.

GENERAL
(nervous)
What -- Please, I-I don’t...

Green Lantern takes him by the collar, menacing.

GREEN LANTERN
You better be right about it,
J’onn.

While Green Lantern has his head turned towards the Martian,
the General’s fearful expression disappears completely as his
eyes begin to GLOW RED.

SUPERMAN
Lantern, look out!

WONDER WOMAN
EVERYBODY GET DOWN!

As Green Lantern turns back to the General, he...

... SHOOTS LASER BEAMS from his eyes! Instinctively, Green

Lantern creates a MIRROR with his ring reflecting the lasers
into a wall.

The hall gets PANICKED.

GREEN LANTERN
What the hell...?!
 58.

WHAM! Green Lantern takes a RIGHT HOOK from the General in

the face, that throws him meters away.

As everyone flees desperate, the General heads toward J’onn,

who is still recomposing.

ON SUPERMAN AND WAYNE -

Superman realizes the bustle of people around. He turns to

Bruce:

SUPERMAN
Help get everyone out of here
safely.

Wayne nods and sets off. Superman sights the General

approaching J’onn with Flash between them.

ON THE FLASH AND J’ONN -

The Speedster stands before J’onn, shielding him as he

recovers. The General stops in front of them.

THE FLASH
You’d better not take another
step.

GENERAL
Get out my way, meat.

THE FLASH
Not until we have some
explanations. Who really are you?

GENERAL
Believe me, today I am the
greatest of your problems.

The General’s eyes begin to glow again. When he’s about to

fire his lasers...

... Wonder Woman’s LASSO wraps around his torso.

Before he could do anything, the Amazon SWINGS her lasso

flinging the General ASIDE, he flies across the hall and
CRASHES INTO A WALL.

The wall collapses covering the General under rocks.

WONDER WOMAN
Flash, take J’onn out of here
until he’s fully recovered.
 59.

THE FLASH
All right.

Flash puts J’onn’s arm around his neck and - FWOOSH! They
BOLT off like a lightning.

When she least expected, Wonder Woman is surprised by a JERK

in her lasso. She grips it as someone from the other end
pulls the rope hard.

It’s the General. Still, beneath the rocks, he pulls the

lasso with superhuman strength. Wonder Woman’s feet skid in
the floor as she tries to hold on.

Then, the General pulls himself out the rubble and WRENCHES
the Amazon into the air. As she flies toward him, the General
shoots his lasers.

When it looks like Wonder Woman will be hit, Superman catches

her in mid-air dodging lasers, landing soon thereafter.

SUPERMAN
You okay?

WONDER WOMAN
Only when we know what we are
facing.

They turn to the General, removing the Lasso of Truth from

his body.

EXT. HALL OF JUSTICE - NIGHT

The whole party gushes through the doors, all in despair.

Wayne and Lois Lane try to coordinate everything.

LOIS
Go as far from here as possible!

The president is taken by the SECRET SERVICE staff into his

own limo.

ON THE FLASH AND J’ONN -

Both distant from the greatest commotion. J’onn is sitting,

almost totally recovered.

THE FLASH
You stay here while I go back to
help the others.

As Flash turns to leave, J’onn grabs his wrist:

J’ONN
Wait!
(off Flash’s look)
All you will not defeat him so
easy.

THE FLASH
How do you...

J’ONN
Fire. We need fire.

INT. HALL OF JUSTICE - NIGHT

Back at the fight: Wonder Woman is THROWN INTO FRAME,

slamming against a pilaster.

The General walks toward her, but Superman kicks his knee
from behind and immobilizes the military with his arms.

SUPERMAN
That’s enough. Better stop it
before anyone else gets hurt.

GENERAL
Is that what you’re afraid of? To
hurt me?

SUPERMAN
You attacked my friends and
several innocent people. I’m not
afraid to hurt you, I’m afraid of
hurting you too much.

GENERAL
Good luck.

The General HEADBUTTS Superman with his nape, breaking free

from his arms. In the next instant, the General grabs
Superman’s cape and SPINS him over his head...

... to then DRIVES HIM INTO THE GROUND, blowing a crater with
the Kryptonian body. While Superman lies on the floor, the
General TREADS on him several times in a row.

He only stops when Wonder Woman TACKLES HIM IN MID-FLIGHT,

slamming the man up on the pilaster.

She holds him by the throat, tight.

 61.

WONDER WOMAN
Superman is reputed to be kind to
criminals, but I’m the opposite of
that, so I recommend you speak.

GENERAL
You are really pathetic with these
threats. Besides... I’m not a
simple criminal that you usually
face.

The General grabs Wonder Woman’s head with both hands and -

FLAHSCUT: Some images flash in Diana’s mind showing the

DESTRUCTION of Themyscira.

Wonder Woman looses the General and staggers back, stunned

with a headache as well as J’onn.

While she’s distracted, the General prepares to fire his

lasers at her. But an ENERGY BAND covers his eyes in time.

Green Lantern stands up behind him.

GREEN LANTERN
Time to a second round!

Green Lantern TUGS the General by the band. As he flies

toward him, the hero generates a TEN-FOOT HAMMER and SMASHES
THE GENERAL INTO THE GROUND.

As the enemy lies unconscious in that crater, Green Lantern

creates a cage around him. Then he runs up to Diana.

GREEN LANTERN
Diana, are you hurt?

WONDER WOMAN
No, I just... the bastard played
with my mind. I did have horrible
visions.

GREEN LANTERN
Don’t worry, I got him.

Superman joins them.

SUPERMAN
Lantern... where is he?

Green Lantern leads Superman to the energy cage.

GREEN LANTERN
Whoever he is, it’s --
 62.

However, the cage is EMPTY. The prisoner is gone.

GREEN LANTERN (CONT’D)

No -- it’s impossible!

SUPERMAN
Not even I would get out of that
energy cage so easy.

Green Lantern makes the cage disappear in disbelief.

SUPERMAN (CONT’D)
Let’s gather all of us, call
Arthur to help and --

SUDDENLY -

- BAM! Superman GETS HIT IN THE CHIN by something INVISIBLE.

WONDER WOMAN
Kal!

Then, Wonder Woman is hit by something she can’t see, just

like Superman.

GREEN LANTERN
Damn it!

Green Lantern takes aim with his ring but he finds no targets
nearby.

GENERAL (O.S.)
An interesting weapon is yours.

The Green Lantern’s arm begins to ache violently. He falls to

his knees, but with his right arm in the air as if it had
been stuck.

The General becomes VISIBLE, revealing that he’s squeezing

Green Lantern’s wrist hard.

GENERAL
Maybe I want to test it a little.

THE FLASH (O.S.)

Hey!

General turns around to Flash and J’onn, bottles of drink

from the party. The military stares at them, confused.

J’ONN
Now!
 63.

Both of them HURL the bottle at the General. The General

drops Green Lantern and switches his focus to the others.

Before the bottles hit their target, J’onn shoots his eye-
lasers by blowing all those alcoholic drinks into a FIRE
BURST that engulfs the General.

Now he’s a BALL OF FLAME. The General moves in all directions

trying to put out the fire, but in vain.

THE FLASH
Hope you sure about this, J’onn.

J’ONN
Keep watching.

Amid cries of suffering, the General MORPHS, changing his

shape like a Martian. A soldier... a woman... an old man.

Nothing works to extinguish those flames.

So he reverts to his real shape. Not the General, but A WHITE

MARTIAN. Not an ordinary White Martian, this is an ALPHA
WHITE MARTIAN.

Muscular, robust, taller. Tiny spikes surrounding his back

and shoulders. The Alpha White Martians are more ferocious
and dangerous than the normal Martians.

In a desperate ac, the White Martian JUMPS high into the air,
PIVOTING his body at a high speed and blowing out the flames
as he lands.

He rises facing the Justice League as the team assembles.

GREEN LANTERN
Huh... J’onn?

J’ONN
Fight first. The answers come
later.

As the Alpha LUNGES toward our heroes -

CUT TO:

EXT. HALL OF JUSTICE - NIGHT

Most of the people left. Local security guards assist in

evacuation. Steve Trevor approaches Lois and Wayne.

STEVE
Can I know what’s going on? Why an
army general shoot lasers from the
eyes?!

LOIS
We know as much as you, Steve.

WAYNE
It does not matter now, civilians
are still at risk out here. We
need --

CRASH! SUPERMAN AND THE WHITE MARTIAN EXPLODE THROUGH THE

WINDOW passing above the trio...

... falling onto a parked limo, crumpling all its roof.

The White Martian is on top of Superman trying to bite him,

but the Man of Steel holds him tight by the neck, leaving the
creature’s sharp teeth inches from his face.

ALPHA WHITE MARTIAN

I always wanted to prove a
Kryptonian’s brain.

Behind them, the security guards point their guns at the

monster.

SUPERMAN
No! Get away from here!

The White Martian turns his head to the securities, eyes

flaring up. But Superman rapidly COVERS that eyes with his
bare hands JUST AS the Alpha fires, blocking the beam.

The securities run away.

An emerald CHAIN BELT locks in the Martian’s neck, Green

Lantern pulls him off Superman. The Man of Steel glances at
his hands - smoking.

ON IRIS -

Sneaking among some parked cars, looking for Flash.

ON GREEN LANTERN AND THE WHITE MARTIAN -

The chain belt transforms into a chain that wraps the white
Martian from the neck to the feet.

GREEN LANTERN
Let’s go to a place where have
fewer people.
 65.

Green Lantern TAKES OFF haling the Alpha Martian with him.
But in the middle of the way, the Martian makes his body
momentarily SLIMMER to loosen the chains and escape.

Before falling, the White Martian grabs Green Lantern by the

heel and pulls him down. They PLUMMET.

Green Lantern slams into a car hood while the White Martian
hits the ground, cratering the earth.

CLOSE ON THE ALPHA WHITE MARTIAN as he tries to stand up

again, but a bit stunned.

At that moment, Wonder Woman arrives behind him and

immobilizes him with her arms. J’onn approaches as she holds
the Martian there.

The Alpha shakes around trying to break free.

J’ONN
Hold on as long as possible, I try
to get into his mind.

J’onn stretches both arms to touch the enemy’s head, but

White Martian kicks his chest with both feet, sending him
away.

WONDER WOMAN
J’onn!

The White Martian makes the spikes on his back grow large
enough to make Wonder Woman release him, then he UPPERCUTS
her meters back.

He turns and sees a helpless J’onn lying on the ground.

ALPHA WHITE MARTIAN

(walking toward J’onn)
You thought you would escape us,
J’onn? You think you can be one of
them? One of these... earthlings?

J’ONN
There was no way you get here. I
myself ensure that --

As J’onn tries to get up, the Alpha White Martian SWATS him
in the face to keep him down.

ALPHA WHITE MARTIAN

The destiny brought me here to
finally extinguish your race from
the face of the universe.

(MORE)

ALPHA WHITE MARTIAN (CONT’D)

(leans closer)
Just as we did with your family.

That last sentence flares up an internal rage at J’onn. With

fire in the eyes, J’onn hugs the White Martian by the waist
and LEAPS INTO THE AIR, FLYING OFF with his foe breaking into
the Hall of Justice.

ON WONDER WOMAN -

As she recomposes herself, Flash and Steve approach.

STEVE
Diana, you’re hurt!

WONDER WOMAN
I’ve suffered more than that. I am
fine.

Superman joins them.

SUPERMAN
Everyone is okay?

They nod.

SUPERMAN (CONT’D)
Flash, did all the civilians
leave?

THE FLASH
Yes, we were able to save
everyone.

But Superman SENSES something.

SUPERMAN
(urgently)
Get down!

As they get down, both Martians DART OVERHEAD - in a close-

range fight as they fly - barely hitting the others three.

They crash-land on the ground, BOUNCING across the grass

toward Iris! And Flash sees that.

THE FLASH
No!

In a blink of an eye, Flash SPEEDS for his girl.

The two Martians COLLIDE into the side of a car, pushing it

toward Iris. But AT THIS MOMENT -

- TIME SLOWS as The Flash catches Iris and takes her away,
letting the car slams right where she stood.

Flash goes away from the battle with his girlfriend. She
barely realized what had happened.

THE FLASH (CONT’D)

What are you doing here? You

SUDDENLY -

- BRDDDDT! GREEN-ENERGY SHOTS hit the Alpha Martian’s back,

shoving him away from J’onn. He turns back and sees: Green
Lantern toting an ENERGY M-134 MINIGUN beside Wonder Woman.

ALPHA WHITE MARTIAN (CONT’D)

(rising)
Come on! I can kill you all!

But he does not notice Superman falling straight for him,

clenched fist hoisted back. And...

... WHAM! The Kryptonian WALLOPS the White Martian’s head so

hard, it SINKS into the ground.

While the enemy is lying down, Superman sits on his back to

keep him there.

SUPERMAN
Lantern! Wonder Woman!

Green Lantern materializes a cable that ties the body of the

white Martian, sewing through the ground and culminating in
the face, where a metallic strip cover his eyes.

Wonder Woman and Superman hold the alien with their hands as
he struggles on the ground.

SUPERMAN (CONT’D)
Whatever you want to do, J’onn, is
your chance!

Even bruised, J’onn kneels down right in front of the Alpha

White Martian.

J’ONN
I just need a few seconds.

J’onn rests both of his hands on the White Martian’s head

sweetly and concentrates with eyes closed, focusing his mind.

A pause.

Then - J’onn’s eyes snap OPEN, glowing. He moans but

withstood the pain inside his head.

WONDER WOMAN
J’onn...

J’ONN
I... I can do it...

A moment later, the White Martian simply STOPS, as if someone

had suddenly withdrawn his batteries.

J’onn falls flat on the floor, exhausted but alive. Flash

encloses the others.

THE FLASH
What happened?

They are awaiting J’onn’s response.

J’ONN
I’m fine... I just need a rest.

SUPERMAN
I think all of us.

From the motionless Alpha Martian, we slowly RISE UP. Until

look straight down, realizing the true scope of the battle.

INT. WHITE MARTIANS’ LAIR - SEWERS - NIGHT

A hydraulic and rather rusty door slides open, revealing a

WHITE MARTIAN SCIENTIST walking alongside his leader, Protex.

WHITE MARTIAN SCIENTIST

Lord Protex, I must confess that
our meeting was a bit earlier than
I expected.

PROTEX
I’ve heard our base was almost
discovered. I needed to see if
everything was still okay.

WHITE MARTIAN SCIENTIST

Oh, yes, the green came close to
finding us, but we managed to

Hamilton takes a step forward. Turns to the others TECHIES in

the room, working on their monitors.

HAMILTON
Listen up: I want images of each
available satellite from S.T.A.R.
Labs in the main screen, now.

Some techies type fast. On the massive main monitor on the

wall, we see a graphic representation of a huge object
heading toward Earth.

STAR LABS TECH

As our satellites did not detect
this meteor before?

HAMILTON
Because this is not a meteor, son.
Meteors can not change their
proper course.

ASSISTANT
Since I spotted, I watched it
closely. It is decreasing its
course as it approaches.
(off Hamilton’s look)

Superman, J’onn, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern gathered.

WONDER WOMAN
We searched every inch of the area
and no sign of the White Martians.

with your ring, maybe it’ll find
something we did not see.

GREEN LANTERN
Ring: examine. Full analysis of
the current area.

Green Lantern’s ring shoots a green-digitized electronic scan

all over the room, searching.

A moment later, the ring stops and BEEPS.

RING
Passage not corresponding to the
infrastructure plant identified.

GREEN LANTERN
Lead me in it.

The ring builds a luminescent line that snakes through the

ground until its discovery. The heroes follow it.

In the end, they find the same passage that Protex and the
others opened when they were disguised as Interpol agents.

Superman bends down and starts opening those secret doors.

INT. UNDERGROUND LAB - LOCUS FACILITY - DAY

Inside, the Justice League comes across the huge laboratory

with Martian technology.

GREEN LANTERN
So that’s where Locus brought
their guests.

J’ONN
This is all Martian technology,
but it seems like it has not been
used in a long time. Maybe the
White Martians no longer depend on
Locus

WONDER WOMAN
We arrived late. Whatever they
were planning, they are not using
this place.

SUPERMAN
They still need a hideout. They
are sensitive to sunlight, so they

Alone in his dwelling, Batman investigates something in his

computer, focused on the monitors.

Then an alert message FLASHES on one screen. Batman checks

it, nonchalant.

ON THE MONITOR: “WayneTech Satellite Alert - unidentified

object approaching.”

It was that Wayne feared to read.

EXT. SPACE - DAY

In the distance, Earth. Suddenly: A BURNING COMET BLASTS

TOWARD IT! Hitting the atmosphere, the comet breaks into SIX
PIECES, each piece spreading to different parts of the
planet.

INT. THE CORTEX - S.T.A.R. LABS - DAY

A technician sights the event on the computer.

STAR LABS TECH

Professor, the object split up
during the entrance into the
atmosphere!

Hamilton, who was working on another computer, now turns to

the main screen.

HAMILTON
Show me.

ON THE MAIN SCREEN: What once seemed to be just a huge comet,

now are SIX PARTS diving into Earth.

HAMILTON (CONT’D)
Do we have confirmation on the
point of impact of any objects?

STAR LABS TECH

Not yet, sir.

HAMILTON
Find out.

The technicians work hard. Moments later:

STAR LABS TECH

One of them looks like it will
crash somewhere in North America.
Other...
(checks in the monitor)
... maybe in Western Europe. The
third, in the African region. The
fourth...

HAMILTON
Oceania...?

STAR LABS TECH

Possibly, doctor.

Hamilton pauses and realizes.

HAMILTON
Six meteors... six continents...

EXT. LOCUS FACILITY - DAY

Superman, Wonder Woman, J’onn and Green Lantern get out the
facility.

SUPERMAN
I’m going to the prison to talk to
Karnz himself. He must know what
the White Martians are planning.

BATMAN
(over radio)
He’s dead.

GREEN LANTERN
Dead? How?

J’ONN
The White Martians must have come
to him first.

BATMAN
(over radio)
I checked Karnz’s prison record.
He was pronounced dead last night.
Where the hell are you guys?

SUPERMAN
Looking for clues about the
Martians. But we do not --

BATMAN
(over radio)
Forget it. We have a problem. Or
rather... six problems.

Superman glances at the others, they also heard.

EXT. MUMBAI RIVER - DAY

TWO FISHERMEN on their small boat hurl a fishing net in the

water to get some fishes.

LEGEND: “MUMBAI, INDIA”

SUDDENLY -

- A TERRIBLE WHISTLE like hundreds of roaring turbines draws

the attention of both men to the sky.

What they see: A MASSIVE ORGANE FIREBALL PLUNGES BLAZING

THROUGH THE SKIES.

EXT. SKY - DAY

Seeing closely, it’s not a meteor, but a hulking and

monumental MARTIAN SPACESHIP. Still burning in the reentry in
the atmosphere.

Before landing, several propellants in the base of the ship

are activated reducing gradually the speed of it.

EXT. MUMBAI JUNGLE - DAY

Finally, the spaceship HITS THE GROUND MIGHTILY in a

DEVASTATING LANDING, which OBLITARATES the jungle in a radius
of miles away.

A long beat.

Then -

- ENGINE RUNNING NOISE sounds from the ship, really loud.

From the top of the ship erupt three massive cylindrical

CHIMNEYS, with slots surrounding all its surface.

Then, those slots begin to glow intensely. The sound of

powerful engaging internal machinery grows.

Each chimney starts to exhale a dense, heavy BLACK SMOKE that

pulls up to the heavens.

EXT. SYDNEY STREETS - AUSTRALIA - DAY

Pedestrians DESPAIR as another MARTIAN SPACESHIP roars past

above their heads, SHAKING everything around.

LEGEND: “SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA”

EXT. SYDNEY HARBOR - DAY

The ship lands with its enormous destructive power in the

water, generating waves that wreck vessels around and swallow
the port.

It does not take long until the chimneys emerge, beginning to

generate that same black smoke.

EXT. ARCTIC OCEAN - DAY

A fishing vessel is with its hull stuck into a glacier.

Meanwhile, Aquaman helps to remove the ship.
 87.

LEGEND: “SOMEWHERE IN THE ARCTIC OCEAN”

On top of the glacier, Aquaman pushes the vessel back,

gradually freeing it off the glacier. The SAILORS watch
everything on the deck.

And shortly thereafter, Aquaman succeeds. The ship uncouples

the ice and the sailors cheer, then thank the hero.

But that moment is interrupted when the thunderous din of

ANOTHER MARTIAN SPACESHIP streaking down through the sky
catches their eyes.

EXT. JOHANNESBURG - SOUTH AFRICA - DAY

The streets are crowded with people running frightened in the

opposite direction of the fourth Martian ship landed in the
city, beginning to exhale the smoke.

LEGEND: “JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA”

EXT. OSLO - NORWAY - DAY

WIDE ON: The fifth alien spaceship is already in its place,

with turbines spewing more black smoke like a factory from
hell.

LEGEND: “OSLO, NORWAY”

INT. DAILY PLANET - DAY

The routine usually continues in the room, until the whole

building starts to SHIVER abruptly.

Objects fall off the tables, windows crack, people almost

lose their balance, Jimmy tries not to drop down the stack of
folders he is carrying.

JIMMY
Earthquake?!

Then they hear the roar of the Martian spaceship tearing the
skies as it falls toward the city. Lois and the others run to
the windows.

Looking out the window: the last ship hits the downtown
Metropolis, razing a mound of buildings around it, blowing a
cloud of dust and debris.

EXT. SKY - DAY

Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter and Green Lantern

fly at high speed.

But along the way, J’onn stops after noticing something

beyond the camera. The others also stop when they see him
like this.

GREEN LANTERN
J’onn?

J’ONN
They already started.

They follow J’onn’s gaze toward a BLACK CLOUD looming distant

in the horizon, slowly dispersing across the air.

WONDER WOMAN
Great Hera.

SUPERMAN
What is that?

J’ONN
It is the first step. The machines
generate that black smoke that
prevents the sunlight from
touching the Earth so they can
walk freely on it.

SUPERMAN
And then?

J’ONN
They enslave.

Superman touches his earpiece.

SUPERMAN
We’re listening.

BATMAN
(over radio)
The space-thing has split up, and
now we have six of them on each
continent. One is in Metropolis.

SUPERMAN
I get this one. Give the location
of the rest of the ships to the
others.

AND - SWOOSH! Superman ROCKETS away, vanishing from our view

in a SONIC BOOM.

GREEN LANTERN
(to the ring)
Okay, Batman, tell us.

INT. BATCAVE - INTERCUTTING

On Batman’s main monitor, a WORLD MAP showing the spots where

the ships landed.

BATMAN
One of them is in Europe. Oslo,
Norway.

WONDER WOMAN
This is mine.

The Amazon flies off to her destination.

BATMAN
There is another in Sydney.

J’ONN
I am going there.

Now, J’onn flies away.

The serene image of our planet is broken by SIX BLACK SMUDGES

that grow and spread like a virus across the globe.

INT. BARRY AND IRIS’ HOUSE - DAY

Barry, now alone at home, notes that the sky is becoming

increasingly DARK.

BARRY
(into earpiece)
Batman, are you listening?
 90.

BATMAN
(over radio)
I’m here, Barry.

BARRY
I hope the League is aware of that
black cloud in the sky. There
isn’t another bizarre giant
island, right?

BATMAN
(over radio)
Superman is already taking care of
it. I need you to go to Mumbai, in
India.

BARRY
What?

BATMAN
(over radio)
You’ll understand when you get
there. Be quick.

Barry nods.

EXT. PENTAGON - WASHINGTON D.C. - DAY

The smoke from the ship at Metropolis is coming in the skies

of the Capital.

INT. SITUATION ROOM - PENTAGON - DAY

The SECRETARY OF DEFENSE sits with the Joint Chiefs: White

House Chief of Staff, the Directors of the NASA, C.I.A., etc.

NASA DIRECTOR
We did a rough calculation. In
less than 48 hours, that whole
black mass will be on all the
planet.

SECRETARY OF DEFENSE
So fast?

NASA DIRECTOR
It is not happening only here in
America, Mr. Secretary, but across
the globe.

SECRETARY OF DEFENSE
We know something more about this
situation?

CIA Director checks a folder.

CIA DIRECTOR
According to professor Hamilton’s
data, the smoke does not seem to
offer any infectious danger.

SECRETARY OF DEFENSE
We are at war with something we do
not know, gentlemen.

VOICE (O.S.)
I have a hunch, sir.

All of them turn to a PENTAGON OFFICIAL standing in the

corner.

SECRETARY OF DEFENSE
You? And what would be, young man?

At this moment, the official TRANSFORMS into a WHITE MARTIAN,

surprising everyone in the room.

WHITE MARTIAN
All your race will be subdued and
there is nothing you can do.

INT. PENTAGON - VARIOUS - DAY

In a BRIEFING ROOM, another member of the room turns out to

be a White Martian and starts attacking others.

In an INTEL ROOM, several officials run for their lives as

another White Martian fires his lasers.

EXT. TARMAC - AIR FORCE BASE - DAY

Steve Trevor strides the tarmac accompanied by a bunch of

PILOTS toward their FIGHTER JETS.

PILOT
Hey, Steve! We should not expect
the Justice League to come?

STEVE
We have no time for this.
 92.

PILOT
This is... crazy!

STEVE
I know, but until the Justice
League decides to take action, we
will be part of the country’s line
of defense.

Before they can reach the jets...

... PLASMA SHOTS EXPLODE some planes. The blast throws the
pilots to the ground.

Stunned, Steve turns to where the shots came, and he comes

across an armed TROOP OF WHITE MARTIANS, unleashing chaos
throughout the base.

STEVE
(gets on his feet)
Fall back! Fall back!

Steve helps some friends and tries to run away while the
Martians attack.

EXT. MILITARY BASE - DAY

Hundreds of soldiers mobilize to prepare for war. A SERGEANT

coordinates everything.

SERGEANT
Come on, ladies!

KA-BOOM! The Sergeant turns around to another WHITE MARTIANS

GROUP attacking the military, with a TANK at their side.

SERGEANT (CONT’D)
What the hell?!

INT. TANK - DAY

A White Martian pilots.

WHITE MARTIAN
(in Martian; subtitled)
Remember: the priority is to
neutralize them, but those who
persist, kill.

INT. WHITE MARTIANS’ LAIR - SEWERS - DAY

Protex watches all the progress of his army through

holographic screens. A real success.

PROTEX
That the acquisition begins.

EXT. DOWNTOWN METROPOLIS - DAY

COPS fire at the landed White Martian ship. They only stop
when the bullets run out, but there is not a scratch on the
alien hull.

Then, Superman lands on a cruiser roof. The cops turn to him,

surprised.

SUPERMAN
I need you to help evacuate the
city, now!

The sound of a hydraulic mechanism catches their attention.

The main door of the ship slides down slowly.

COP
I don’t know if we have time
for...

SUPERMAN
(cuts in)
I’ll give you as much time as I
can. Go!

Without question, the cops run away. Superman stays there

waiting for his enemy.

When the door opens fully, there is pure darkness inside.

Superman holds... holds... and then a couple of bright RED
EYES flashes in the shadows.

EXT. GLACIER RIDGE - ARCTIC CIRCLE - DAY

On the edge of the ridge, Aquaman eyes the Martian ship

settled in the ice, with the main door open.

AQUAMAN’S POV: From inside the ship, a WHITE MARTIANS SQUAD

walk out led by an Alpha - FLUXUS.

AQUAMAN
(into earpiece)
Batman, it’s Aquaman. I’m watching
one of those machines closely.

BATMAN
(over radio)
What are you seeing?

AQUAMAN
These things are not just
machines, but also transport.

BATMAN
(over radio)
What?

AQUAMAN
There’s a whole squadron coming
out of the thing.

BATMAN
(on radio)
Hold your position until I call
for backup.

AQUAMAN
Sorry but we have no time enough.

Aquaman stands up drawing his trident.

BATMAN
(over radio)
Aquaman, you’re in the minority.
Do not do anything stupid!

AQUAMAN
Stupidity would be to see these
creatures spreading across the
Earth and me standing with arms
crossed.

He cuts off the communication and heads for the battle.

INT. BATCAVE - DAY

Batman tries to reestablish contact with Aquaman, but without

success.

BATMAN
Aquaman, answer.
(beat)
Damn it!

He pounds his desk furiously.

BATMAN (CONT’D)
Diana, are you there?
 95.

WONDER WOMAN
(over radio)
Yes, I am.

BATMAN
Listen, Arthur discovered that
these machines are manned.

EXT. OSLO - NORWAY - DAY

Wonder Woman hangs in the air at a safe distance from the

Martian ship, which the door is already lowered.

BATMAN
(over radio)
I repeat, there are white Martians
on board.

Then more White Martians leave the ship, led by PRIMAID.

EXT. JOHANNESBURG STREETS - DAY

PANIC at the streets. Local army tries to remove people

safely, but they are too frightened to follow in order.

Green Lantern soars past above carrying dozens of civilians

on top of an ENERGY PLATFORM.

He stops in the air and makes the platform to descend to the

ground so that everyone up there can run away.

GREEN LANTERN
Go, go!

KA-BLAM! Something heavy slamming on the ground draws Green

Lantern’s eyes. He turns around to the Martian ship, door
lowered.

GREEN LANTERN (CONT’D)

(almost a whisper)
What now...?

EXT. DOCK - SYDNEY - DAY

Martian Manhunter and the police take all civilians away from
there.

J’ONN
Run away from here!
 96.

SPLASH! Something bursts out the water. As J’onn turns around

to see what is, he’s surprised by...

... A PUNCH right in his face, which knocks him down. ARMEK
stands before J’onn.

ARMEK
Well, well... a green right here.
This will be interesting.

EXT. MUMBAI JUNGLE - DAY

FOLLOWING Flash as he courses through the jungle, swerving

trees, rocks and holes on the ground.

He’s a red blur blowing foliage away as he advances.

Then Flash STOPS. Discreetly, he peeks from a distance the

ship swarmed by a White Martians squad, with ZUM in charge.

THE FLASH
Great, an army.

EXT. CLINTON BRIDGE - METROPOLIS - DAY

The bridge was completely congested by the traffic. The sound

of hundreds of horns mingle with the hysterical screams.

Soldiers and police try to contain the crowd, but it is

almost impossible. Suddenly - an EXPLOSION in the downtown
happens. A battle is taking place there.

EXT. DOWNTOWN METROPOLIS - DAY

Across the streets, Superman fights ZUSH - the leader of that

ship in Metropolis.

Swapping punches on equal levels.

Both collide against a van. Superman lifts the White Martian

over his head and HURLS him across the street, into a store.

The Man of Steel GETS HIT in the back by plasma shots from
the White Martians foot soldiers. He covers behind the van.

Superman rips out a van door and with one powerful kick, he
FLIPS the vehicle over and over on its side, crushing a few
White Martians on the way.

Using the door as a shield, Superman advances toward the

remnants as they shoot, shattering the door gradually.
 97.

But when he gets close enough, Superman drops the door and
knocks out the White Martians easily with his hands. He
glances around and realizes the Martians spreading all over
the city.

Superman LEAPS INTO THE AIR, flying towards the aliens. But
at that moment...

... ZUSH GRIPS HIS ANKLE, PULLING SUPERMAN back to the

street, SLAMMING him into the pavement.

When Superman tries to get up again, Zush kicks his chin to

keep him on the ground. Superman turns his grimy face to
Zush.

SUPERMAN’S POV: Looking from down while Zush smirks evilly

and raises his foot. As he TRAMPLES into camera, we -

CUT TO:

EXT. ARCTIC CIRCLE - DAY

Aquaman PARRIES every plasma shot with his trident from the
White Martians as he assails.

The King of the Seven Seas handles his trident masterfully,

striking down the Martians with a single, precise hit. The
amount does not seem to be a problem for him.

But, he TAKES HIT from behind. Aquaman falls on one knee,

back smoking. He turns to Fluxus, eyes blazing.

Fluxus SIGNALS to his soldiers to hold on.

AQUAMAN
(getting up)
A man who attacks his opponent
from behind is not worthy to win
the battle.

FLUXUS
And you think you’re worthy to
beat me?

AQUAMAN
Let’s find out.

With all his rage, Aquaman LASHES OUT his foe. As Fluxus
fires his laser beams from the eyes...
 98.

EXT. OSLO STREETS - DAY

With her silver bracelets, Wonder Woman DEFLECTS Martian

shots and protects people running behind her.

WONDER WOMAN
(to the people)
Don’t stop!

Wonder Woman pulls out the hood of a car and flings it toward
the White Martians, knocking them down like bowling pins.

The Amazon warrior feels something from behind. As she turns

around, she SHIELDS herself with the bracelets from a
powerful laser beam.

The force makes Wonder Woman skid across the street.

Wonder Woman recompose herself, bracelets smoking. She tilts

her head up to Primaid, who is ready to kill her.

EXT. SYDNEY STREETS - DAY

People run as a White Martians group blast their weapons.

They don’t notice J’onn emerging from the ground, INTANGIBLE.

Still intangible, J’onn PASSES HIS ARMS THROUGH the chest of

two Martians. They CONVULSE and collapse on the floor.

The Manhunter becomes tangible again and lashes out the other
White Martians with his fists, like a veteran.

Just after J’onn defeated the White Martians on that

street...

... WHAM! Armek LUNGES J’onn in surprise, sending him across

the street and then into a TRUCK, tipping it aside.

ARMEK
Do not expect to get rid of me
that easy.

Armek walks toward the truck. J’onn gets out the vehicle and
plucks a TIRE, then throws it like a Frisbee toward his
opponent.

Armek fires his eye-lasers obliterating the tire into ashes.

But it was all a distraction for J’onn to get close to him.

As J’onn sends a right hook, Armek GRABS his fist and grins.

ARMEK (CONT’D)
Your race was better than that.
 99.

Armek HEADBUTTS J’onn hard, dropping him backwards.

EXT. WHITE MARTIANS SHIP - MUMBAI JUNGLE - DAY

The White Martian Squadron shoot at something they can barely

see - a red blur, DASHING around and striking out several
Martians in a row.

A moment later, Flash stops behind a tree to catch his

breath, panting. He glances back and sees that there are
still many enemies left to defeat.

The White Martians spot him and OPEN FIRE, rending the tree.
Flash has no choice but to run.

MOVING with Flash as runs, knocking down more Martian

soldiers. But something INVINSIBLE hits him in mid-race.

Flash rolls down the ground and stops.

He stands up, dazed, as Zum becomes VISIBLE from his

camouflage smiling with his shark-like mouth.

INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - OFFICE BUILDING - DAY

OFFICE WORKERS look out the windows the chaos spreading

through the streets of Johannesburg, not knowing what to do.

Suddenly, they begin to set away from the windows, STARTLED,

as if they want to escape something. Then -

- GREEN LANTERN AND ZENTURION (The White Martian in charge

there) CRASH through the window and slam on the floor.

Scared, the workers flee. Zenturion is on top of Green

Lantern trying to kill him strangled.

Zenturion’s eyes SHINE. Green Lantern DUCKS his head JUST AS

the White Martian shoots his lasers.

GREEN LANTERN
I almost forgot you guys do that.

Green Lantern creates a SPIRAL SPRING between his body and

Zenturion’s. It EJECTS the alien up through the ceiling to
the next level. The hero chases after him.

We STAY in the same empty office as the fight sound from the
upper level.
 100.

Seconds later - the sound of GLASS SHATTERING. Through the

windows, we see Green Lantern and Zenturion dropping together
out the building.

EXT. TARMAC - AIR FORCE BASE - DAY

The base is being destroyed little by little. The remaining

soldiers exchange shots with the White Martians, but their
firepower is higher.

Behind a Humvee, Steve Trevor fires his pistol with three

more pilots.

PILOT
Steve, I’m running out of bullets!

Steve tosses an ammo clip to his friend. But he realizes that

that one was the last.

EXT. DOWNTOWN METROPOLIS - DAY

With his foot on Superman’s face, Zush presses his head

further into the ground, sinking it in the asphalt.

BEAT as Zush stares at Superman, victorious.

But his foot on Superman’s face begins to WARM UP

increasingly. He pulls away painfully, with his foot burned
thanks to the heat vision of the Man of Steel.

Superman gets up and attacks Zush with a PUNCH COMBINATIONS.

Fists BATTERING his body. Superman ends with a right hook
into Zush’s chin...

... sending him into the side of a parked SUV.

Before leaving, Superman sights a MANHOLE at his feet. He

TREADS on it hard enough to make its cover flip up, then
catches it and DARTS the cover for the White Martian.

The manhole cover hits Zush, TEARING through the SUV and
crashing into a shop right behind.

After that, Superman jumps and FLIES OFF.

EXT. OSLO STREETS - DAY

A NORWEGIAN FAMILY is surrendered by two White Martians, who

argue among themselves in their own language.
 101.

We don’t know what they say, but they are clearly deciding
what to do with the poor frightened family.

THEN -

- Wonder Woman’s lasso wraps one of the Martians. Before any

of them could react, the Amazon SWINGS the Martian onto his
companion, saving the family.

Wonder Woman approaches. The family nods to her in thanks and

runs away. The Princess surveys her surroundings: the
infestation of White Martians is greater than she could
imagine.

WONDER WOMAN
(into earpiece)
I need reinforcements! There are
many of them to deal here.

GREEN LANTERN
(over radio)
Get in line, my dear!

THE FLASH
(over radio)
I’m a little...

Angry roars from White Martians sound in her earpiece.

THE FLASH (CONT’D)

(over radio)
... busy.

SUDDENLY - Primaid lands behind Wonder Woman ready.

PRIMAID
What? You are running from me?

Wonder Woman sends a punch, but Primaid grabs her fist. She
gives a left punch, but the White Martian grabs that too.

PRIMAID (CONT’D)
I want to get to know you better.

EXT. ARCTIC CIRCLE - DAY

Back at Aquaman as he deflects many plasma shots with his

trident. But the fatigue is already reaching his body.

In an oversight, two plasma shots strike him down hard.

Wounded in the chest, Aquaman quickly crawls to behind a
rock.
 102.

Aquaman looks at his chest: the scales of his suit have

protected him from the greatest impact, but he still feels
the pain.

Then he grips his trident, preparing to return to the fight.

But in that moment...

... the rock behind him begins to HEAT spontaneously. Aquaman

jumps out of the way as a laser beam BLOWS A HOLE in the
rock, barely hitting the hero.

Aquaman looks through the hole: Fluxus, with shining eyes.

EXT. JOHANNESBURG STREETS - DAY

LOCAL SOLDIERS fire at the White Martians with their rifles,

but in vain. Normal bullets do not cause great effects.

But a MASSIVE GREEN BLADE guillotines the White Martians’

weapons in half. As they stare confused...

... Green Lantern shows up, and from his ring, a TEN-FOOT
GLOWING FIST flies at the Martians punching all of them
across their faces. They FLY BACK.

GREEN LANTERN
(to the soldiers)
Evacuate the city, it is not safe
here!

An oncoming beastly GRUNT draws his attention.

GREEN LANTERN (CONT’D)

Come on!

As Zenturion JUMPS Green Lantern OFF SCREEN, we -

CUT TO:

EXT. OVER SYDNEY - DAY

Above the buildings, J’onn and Armek are waging an aerial

battle. But the Green Martian is at a disadvantage.

During that close-range combat, Armek holds J’onn in a bear

hug, incapacitating his arms. In the next second, Armek lets
gravity pull both down.

As they PLUMMET, J’onn concentrates but... something is wrong

with him.
 103.

J’ONN
My mind...

ARMEK
Trying to use the old trick of
intangibility? Not this time.

The ground approaches them every second until -

EXT. SYDNEY STREETS - CONTINUOUS

- KA-BLAM! Both Martians SLAM INTO THE STREET in a big

impact, like a meteor.

A moment later, Armek is the only one standing inside the

crater, holding a stunned J’onn by the neck.

INT. BATCAVE - DAY

Batman types on his computer, tense.

BATMAN
Wonder Woman, you hear me?
(static)
Lantern, are you there?
(static)
Flash?

No reply.

INT. WHITE MARTIANS’ LAIR - SEWERS - DAY

In a kind of command center, Protex and his scientist watch

the black smoke dominate the globe by some monitors.

WHITE MARTIAN SCIENTIST

Sir, our soldiers are dominating
the main human defense forces.
Soon they will be defenseless.

PROTEX
Great. Our domination will be
inevitable. At first, they always
fight, but in the end...

INT. HANGAR - AIR FORCE BASE - DAY

The surviving soldiers get in. Steve and another man close
the door. As they start running...
 104.

... BOOM! The hangar door EXPLODES, knocking Steve to the

ground. The White Martians squad come in, weapons up.

Meanwhile, narration continues:

PROTEX (V.O.)
... will not pass insect desperate
for survival...

EXT. MILITARY BASE - DAY

The army tries to turn the tide in their favor, but they are
being massacred gradually.

PROTEX (V.O.)
... begging for a light of hope,
but all will be suffering...

EXT. AROUND THE WORLD - DAY/NIGHT

In VARIOUS COUNTRIES, people on the streets and in their

homes look at the black skies apprehensively as we keep
hearing:

PROTEX (V.O.)
... and when they lose faith, this
whole world... will be mine.

INT. METROPOLIS BANK - DAY

A dozen civilians are gathered within the bank, surrounded by

tension and uncertainty. TWO White Martians oversee them
aiming their weapons.

The Martians scream at them as if were orders, but none of

the people understand, of course. The aliens get angrier, it
seems they are about to shoot. But...

... A BLUE AND RED BLUR BLAST through the window at SUPER-
SPEED and WIPE OUT both White Martians out the building.

Superman comes back and approaches those people.

SUPERMAN
The situation is ugly out there,
so I need all you stay here,
hidden. Can you do it?

Nervous, the people just nod. He walks up to the window and

observes the situation outside.
 105.

SUPERMAN (CONT’D)
(into earpiece)
Here is Superman, someone
listening?

Superman waits, but no answer. Then he hears: PROPELLERS...

not so distant. And realizes.

SUPERMAN (CONT’D)
Lois.

INT. HELICOPTER - DAY

Flying over the city, Lois stands beside Jimmy, who

photographs all the chaos bellow at the chopper door.

JIMMY
Miss Lane, did I ever tell you
this is pure madness?!

LOIS
Yeah, Jimmy, eight times. Keep
filming everything.

The CHOPPER PILOT turns to them.

CHOPPER PILOT
I said we would be only fifteen
minutes, and we have nearly
twenty!

LOIS
Wait! We need more images. Stay a
little more.

CHOPPER PILOT
“A little more”? Are you insane?!
The whole city is going downhill!

LOIS
Five more minutes and we can
leave. I will pay twice as much as
the combined one.

The pilot pauses, considering.

CHOPPER PILOT
Damn... it’s good it worthwhile.

Lois smiles.

JIMMY
Miss Lane?
 106.

LOIS
What now, Jimmy?

JIMMY
They are not looking at us, right?

Lois cranes her head - looking out the chopper door - to see
right below...

... THREE WHITE MARTIANS on a rooftop, aiming their plasma

weapons at them.

LOIS
(to the pilot; urgently)
Get us out here!

CHOPPER PILOT
What?! Can you be more decisive?

Too late - the three White Martians FIRE, blowing up the

chopper’s ROTOR BLADES.

Lois and Jimmy hold themselves as they fall wildly.

EXT. METROPOLIS - DAY

Uncontrolled, the helicopter dives exhaling a black smoke

from its engine.

INT. HELICOPTER - DAY

Jimmy screams desperately from the bottom of his lungs as

Lois remains silent, clinging the seat belt.

When it seems like the last moment of their lives, the

helicopter just HALTS. The fall was interrupted.

Jimmy opens his eyes slowly, confused.

JIMMY
Are we... dead?

EXT. BUILDING ROOFTOP - METROPOLIS - DAY

Superman lands on the roof bearing the helicopter above his

head, and gently places it on the floor.

Lois hops out the chopper. As she spots Superman, she can not
resist and embraces him.
 107.

SUPERMAN
(smiling)
Always in danger, is not it, Miss
Lane?

Jimmy steps out too.

JIMMY
Superman -- thank God! Where are
the others? Where is the Justice
League?

SUPERMAN
They are doing the same as me...
battling armies of these creatures
around the world.
(beat)
I do not know how much we can
endure yet.

LOIS
You cannot keep fighting alone.
You can die!

SUPERMAN
But I need. If I must die today,
may I be fighting for I stand for.

Superman walks up to the edge.

SUPERMAN (CONT’D)
Stay here until things settle
down.

Then he flies away to save the world.

JIMMY
He will get it... right?

Off Lois’ gaze, unsure:

INT. BATCAVE - DAY

In the chair is Batman, hanging head. Thoughtful. His mind

working in anything which can help now.

A beat.

Held.

Then -
 108.

- Batman sudden raises his head, as if an idea had hit his

head at that moment.

He returns to his computer, typing urgently.

ON A MONITOR: Again the “Plan B” folder. As Batman CLICKS it,

A BANK OF IMAGES OF EVERY SUPERHERO IN THE WORLD POPS UP.

Some are familiar faces, others we’ll meet soon after.

BATMAN
One last hope.

EXT. WHITE MARTIANS SHIP - MUMBAI JUNGLE - DAY

Flash unleashes a PUNCHES COMBO against Zum, using all his

strength to hit him a hundred times per second without
stopping.

A moment later, Flash stops, breathing hard. Zum just spits

his own blood. Flash looks at his knuckles - INJURED.

THE FLASH
Really? Not even a “ouch”?

Zum SMASHES FLASH IN THE FACE, dropping him at his feet.

The Speedster falls on all fours, exhausted and almost

without strength. Zum seizes this moment and begins to POUND
him.

EXT. ARCTIC CIRCLE - DAY

Aquaman slams on the ice, wounded. Fluxus is just playing

with him there.

He tries to use his sonar, but a PSYCHIC interference

interrupts Aquaman’s technique making him scream in pain.

FLUXUS
I do not know what you planned
with it, but I will not let you
proceed.

Weak but still not given up on the fight, Aquaman tries to

attack, but making slow movements against Fluxus. Not a
threat to the Martian.

Fluxus grasps the trident’s end and pulls Aquaman toward him
to headbutt the King BACKWARDS, knocking him on the ground.
 109.

With the golden trident in his hands, Fluxus tosses it away,

leaving it spiked in the ice.

EXT. OSLO STREETS - DAY

While the citizens run desperately through the streets,

Wonder Woman EXPLODES through a brick wall, slamming into a
lamp post.

As she recomposes herself, Primaid steps out the smoke. Both

opponents face each other.

WONDER WOMAN
(tired)
I am an... Amazon warrior. I faced
Ares himself and will not be
defeated by creatures like you.

PRIMAID
Prove.

With a mighty war cry, Wonder Woman ADVANCES toward Primaid

ready to kill. As they are about to collide...

EXT. JOHANNESBURG STREETS - DAY

Inside an ENERGY DOME, Green Lantern bears Zenturion’s

consecutive blows in the structure.

At every impact, everything shakes. It does not take long

until the dome begins to CRACK with the hits.

EXT. SYDNEY STREETS - DAY

J’onn rests on his hands and knees. Defeated. Armek

approaches and steps on his back.

ARMEK
You lost. Your world lost...
again.

EXT. METROPOLIS - DAY

The Man of Steel loses his control and PLUMMETS with the
Martian straight...

... into the STREET. Zush stands on top of the hero, choking
him with both hands.

ZUSH
I’ll love to devour your brain.

Superman’s about to use his heat vision, but Zush SMACKS his
eyes and prevents him to fire.

ZUSH (CONT’D)
Don’t die now. I want you to see
the world you fought to protect,
crumbling slowly while you can not
do anything.

Zush’s eyes start to glow.

ZUSH (CONT’D)
When we win, I promise to kill you
in a slowly and painfully way.

Superman can’t react, he’s too weak for that. Zush is about
to obliterate the hero’s head with his lasers.

But AT THAT MOMENT -

- A VAN IS THROWN INTO FRAME, SLAMMING ZUSH YARDS AWAY FROM

SUPERMAN.

Superman barely realized what really happened there.

SUPERMAN
(weak)
Diana?

VOICE (O.S.)
Not really, but I appreciate the
compliment.

SUPERMAN’S POV: Stunned, he turns around to: CAPTAIN MARVEL.

THE EARTH’S MIGHTIEST MORTAL. Standing beside Superman like
an angel from heaven.

CAPTAIN MARVEL
(extends his hand)
I hope to have arrived in time,
Superman.

Superman grabs Captain Marvel’s hand, who helps him to stand

again. But he’s still weak and Marvel notes it.

CAPTAIN MARVEL (CONT’D)

You okay?

SUPERMAN
My strength... this dark smoke
blocks the sunlight, and the way I
spent my energy, I can not compose
myself.

CAPTAIN MARVEL
So the plan is just to get you to
get a tan?

SUPERMAN
Basically.

Captain Marvel wraps Superman’s arm around his neck.

CAPTAIN MARVEL
Hang on.

SUPERMAN
Wait! We can not leave the city
alone.

CAPTAIN MARVEL
(smiles)
It’s not alone.

Off Superman’s stare, confused -

CUT TO:

EXT. ANOTHER PART OF METROPOLIS - DAY

HAWKMAN, GREEN ARROW and BLACK CANARY fight the White

Martians and defend the civilians. They struggle in sync like
a real team.

Hawkman CRUSHES the aliens with his steel mace, splashing

their blood with each hit.

Green Arrow fires his SPECIAL ARROWS to ELETROCUTE and

EXPLODE his targets.

Black Canary unleashes her CANARY CRY - a potent SONIC attack

that shoves the Martians away.

BLACK CANARY
I hope the earmuffs are working!

GREEN ARROW
(not listening)
What?!

She smiles. It’s working.

EXT. OSLO STREETS - DAY

Wonder Woman lies on the ground, defenseless. Primaid

approaches to finish his job, but...

... A FLASH OF PURPLE LIGHT catches his attention.

VOICE (O.S.)
Enots Ylf.

Then huge FLYING DEBRIS hit Primaid off his feet, sending him
down the street.

Wonder Woman rests on one knee as the sexy sorcerer ZATANNA

steps closer to her.

ZATANNA
It’s all right now, Wonder Woman.
We came to help you in this
battle.

WONDER WOMAN
We?

Zatanna makes room to reveal: HUNTRESS, CAPTAIN ATOM, ATOM

SMASHER and HAWKGIRL. Ready to battle.

EXT. JOHANNESBURG STREETS - DAY

Within his protective dome, Green Lantern persists, as does

Zenturion. The crack is larger on the surface of the
structure.

In one of his punches, Zenturion breaks a hole in the dome.

It’s the end.

GREEN LANTERN
Shit!

The White Martian keeps pounding, enlarging the hole. Now

Zenturion has his chance to use his laser in Green Lantern.

BUT -

- A GOLDEN ENERGY BLAST yanks Zenturion off the dome.

Green Lantern dematerializes his dome. He turns to where the

energy blast came from and comes across:

BOOSTER GOLD, BLUE BEETLE, DOCTOR LIGHT and RED TORNADO.

EXT. SYDNEY STREETS - DAY

Armek holds J’onn by his neck and forces him to look across
the city around being destroyed by the White Martians.

ARMEK
Tell me, J’onn, what the feeling
of having two worlds that you love
being destroyed?

Before J’onn can answer...

... A HAIL OF FIRE makes him loose J’onn and pulls away. He
backs off. A fire barrier blocks his way to J’onn.

FIRESTORM lands on the street, in front of J’onn. Behind him,

THE ATOM grows to his normal size next to the Manhunter.

THE ATOM
We arrived on time. He is still
alive.

J’ONN
What...?

FIRESTORM
So let’s take care of the
situation while he recovers.

Joining them: NIGHTWING and STEEL.

EXT. ARCTIC CIRCLE - DAY

Two White Martians haul Aquaman to his feet. Fluxus walks up

to him and starts to pummel the hero like a punching bag.

FLUXUS
You’re tougher than I thought.

As Fluxus is about to give another hit, an ICE TENDRIL

emerges from the ground and wraps Fluxus’ fist.

ENERGY BLASTS hit both White Martians holding Aquaman, making

them drop the King of Atlantis. Fluxus remains confused.

After that, the nimble VIXEN jumps above Aquaman SWATING

Fluxus with her both feet, pushing the Martian BACK.

While Aquaman recovers, DOCTOR FATE and ICE approach ringing

Aquaman.

DOCTOR FATE
Forgive me the delay, Aquaman, I
had other heroes to teleport.

AQUAMAN
(standing)
Any help is welcome.

Vixen joins them with Aquaman’s trident in hands. She hands

it to him. Aquaman nods.

AQUAMAN (CONT’D)
Well...

Aquaman turns to the White Martians, towering like a king

should be, flanked by the other three heroes.

AQUAMAN (CONT’D)
... let’s show what happens when
they come to our house without our
permission.

Aquaman CHARGES in all his fury as well as the others.

EXT. MUMBAI JUNGLE - DAY

The Flash slams onto a tree, weary. Zum runs up to him to

give an ultimate blow, but A RED RUBBER BAND ARM stretches to
Flash and PULLS him away, leaving Zum hit the tree.

Zum sees Flash being dragged away from him. When he thinks
about chase the Speedster, a robust METAL MAN emerges from
the jungle blocking his way. Meet - IRON.

Off Zum’s confused face, Iron UPPERCUTS him so hard, he flies

back to near his ship.

Back to Flash as he realizes MERCURY - a man made LIQUID

METAL who saved him - and the others: GOLD, PLATINUM, LEAD
and TIN.

They are THE METAL MEN.

GOLD
We are your backup now, Flash.

EXT. TARMAC - AIR FORCE BASE - DAY

Aftermath. Steve and some surviving soldiers are gathered in

the tarmac on their knees, defeated.

EXT. MILITARY BASE - DAY

So do those soldiers. The Sergeant looks around and sees

corpses of his men scattered everywhere.

INT. BATCAVE - DAY

Then satellite images showing the Earth displays in one of

the monitors. The smoke continues to grow. Batman types.

EXT. SKIES ABOVE METROPOLIS - DAY

Carrying a weakened Superman, Captain Marvel TEARS upwards

into the sky, within that dark smoke.

CAPTAIN MARVEL
I see nothing!

SUPERMAN
Just keep going up!

Captain Marvel BOOSTS his speed, piercing through those

layers of dense black smoke in the sky.

Superman begins to feel the sunlight closer.

As they rise, the sky begins to clear gradually. And moments

later after a lot of effort...

... Superman and Captain Marvel emerge from the black smoke
ABOVE ANY CLOUD, finally finding the sunshine.

And for a moment we forget all the chaos occurring down

there. Everything has disappeared and now there is only the
silence of the crisp blue sky.

Captain Marvel looses Superman, letting him float by his own

in the air, with open arms getting the yellow sunshine all
over his body.

CLOSE IN on Superman’s face, eyes closed. Absorbing all that

energy that touches his skin.

BEAT as Superman fills the screen.

Then -
 116.

- his eyes SNAP OPEN, but now glowing RED thanks to his heat
vision. Fully recovered.

EXT. JOHANNESBURG STREETS - DAY

Mounted on an ANTIAIRCRAFT weapon made of energy, Green

Lantern fires at the Martian ship but he can only scratch its
hull.

GREEN LANTERN
Damn it.

ON BOOSTER GOLD AND BLUE BEETLE -

Acting together. While the Booster Gold keeps away the White
Martians, Blue Beetle breaks open a car door to help trapped
civilians.

BLUE BEETLE
Get out!

The people in the vehicle set off. Blue Beetle does not
notice a White Martian aiming at him, ready to shoot.

But A LIGHT BLAST blows the White Martian off its feet. Only
now the Beetle realizes that he was saved by Dr. Light. As
they nod to each other...

... Red Tornado SLAMS into a car hood with Zenturion. He uses
his WIND GUST to send the Martian away.

BOOSTER GOLD
If this keeps up, we can not
prevent them take the city.

ON GREEN LANTERN -

As he shoots down some White Martians with green laser beams,

Dr. Light comes up and helps him.

DR. LIGHT
Have you thought of any ideas?

GREEN LANTERN
Everything I try has no effect on
that thing.

Green Lantern pauses, thinking.

GREEN LANTERN (CONT’D)

J’onn said they are sensitive to
sunlight...

Then, an idea snaps on his mind.

GREEN LANTERN (CONT’D)

You are Doctor Light, right? You
can absorb any light and use to
your advantage, isn’t it?

DR. LIGHT
Yeah, it’s my power. Why you --

GREEN LANTERN
That includes the sunlight?

Dr. Light pauses and realizes. She looks up... a long way.

EXT. OSLO STREETS - DAY

Atom Smasher - in his FIFTY FEET TALL shape - is swarmed up

by White Martians trying to crawl his body.

But they are hit by arrows, falling from that giant body.

Huntress fires her CROSSBOW from an apartment building

rooftop, helping the giant hero.

Meanwhile, Hawkgirl streaks LOW at the rooftops, swinging her

mace into the White Martians on her way.

EXT. BRIDGE - OSLO - DAY

Traffic stalled on the bridge. There are many vehicles to

keep moving.

A bunch of White Martians arrives at one end of the bridge

and they all concentrate fire to the base of it.

They destroy the supports of the bridge, and gradually it

begins to COLLAPSE. People SCREAM, panicked.

However, the bridge begins to REPAIR itself magically. The

structure returns to its place as if it were going back in
time.

The Martians spot Zatanna at the shore, gesturing her hands

manipulating that magic. They point their weapons at her...

... but Captain Atom LANDS among them, STARTLING the

Martians. Before they could react, the hero knocks them all
down with his powerful fists easily.

Zatanna’s eyes meet Captain Atom’s. They nod, thanks. Then he

TAKES OFF.
 118.

INT. NORWEGIAN HOUSE - DAY

BLAM! Wonder Woman and Primaid explode through the wall

swapping heavy punches, smashing the furniture around.

Primaid’s eyes start to shine in red.

Wonder Woman hits the Martian’s head JUST AS he fires,

swerving his lasers away RIPPING the house wall up to the
ceiling.

The Amazon warrior WHACKS Primaid hard enough to send him out
the house. Wonder woman wipes a bit of blood at the corner of
her mouth and flies after him.

EXT. ARCTIC CIRCLE - DAY

Doctor Fate is cornered by a group of White Martians, but he

remains calm in the face of this situation.

DOCTOR FATE
I’ve never been a lover of
battles, but I can make an
exception for you guys.

The Martians lash out at same time. Gesturing his hands

quickly, Doctor Fate launches a kind of ENERGY FIELD that
rams half of those Martians full on.

He turns to the other half, which fires him. Doctor Fate

makes another force field that absorbs every plasma shot of
the Martians.

From that same force field, the plasma shots are REPELLED
back to their respective shooters, hitting them down at once.

ON ICE -

Running towards White Martians that fire at her. Plasma shots

whiz past the heroin as she advances.

In the middle of the path, she uses a rock as a ramp to jump

high into the air. She lands slamming her fist to the ground
near the Martians...

... making ICY STALAGMITES erupt off the floor, striking

every White Martian around.

ON AQUAMAN AND VIXEN -

Fighting together on Fluxus. The Martian swats Vixen ASIDE.

Aquaman whips his trident, but Fluxus grabs it.
 119.

FLUXUS
No matter how many allies you
bring, I will kill them and make
you watch.

When it seems that Aquaman is at a disadvantage, they hear a

CRACK. It’s ice shattering.

Aquaman glances over Fluxus’ shoulder and sees Vixen SMASHING

the ice with her fists. Aquaman gives Fluxus a satisfactory
smile.

Off Fluxus’ stare...

... the ice ground under their feet COLLAPSES, letting both
fighters dive into the icy water.

UNDERWATER:

We lose aquaman from view as Fluxus floats in the water. He

looks around but only sees water and darkness.

AQUAMAN (O.S.)
We are in my territory now.

As Fluxus turns around, he receives a PUNCH from Aquaman.

Off that, we -

CUT TO:

EXT. SYDNEY HARBOR - DAY

In mid-air, J’onn hovers above the White Martian ship. On his

right shoulder stands the Atom in his miniature shape.

J’ONN
Do you think you can disable the
machine?

THE ATOM
I’m the size of an atom, right? If
I find the ship controls, I can
find a way to turn it off.

J’ONN
I’ll keep them busy in the
meantime.

J’onn PLUNGES toward the ship.

 120.

EXT. SYDNEY STREETS - DAY

A White Martian yells at a bus full of people. Everyone is

apprehensive inside there. But the alien is surprised by a
ROUNDHOUSE KICK from Nightwing.

NIGHTWING
I’ll get all you out there, do not
worry.

A LITTLE GIRL inside the bus points to something behind

Nightwing. Realizing, he rolls sideways as Armek strikes the
bus, sinking his fist into it.

NIGHTWING (CONT’D)
(shouts)
Firestorm, I need some help here!

Armek pulls out his fist and LUNGES Nightwing. Nightwing

backs off as he DODGES the strokes skillfully.

After getting some distance, Nightwing draws a couple of

BATONS and retaliates. He’s faster and hits Armek several
times without being caught.

But Armek pisses off and SWIPES Nightwing away into a car
windshield, cracking the glass. Armek heads for him, claws
tinkling.

A FIREBALL blows up at Armek’s feet, dropping him back. He

retreats, visibly fearing the fire near him. Firestorm comes
up and notices that.

FIRESTORM
Fear of fire? Interesting.

EXT. MUMBAI JUNGLE - DAY

The Metal Men fight as a team against the hive of White

Martians. Among them, a red streak zigzags through the
battle, knocking down the enemies.

Flash stops beside Gold and Platinum, bushed.

THE FLASH
They are many. We need to take
down the machine first if we want
to defeat them.

GOLD
We need to think of something,
fast.
 121.

THE FLASH
They will not give up, and we can
not let them reach the city.

Gold faces Platinum, thinking in an idea.

PLATINUM
Do you think that might work?

GOLD
It must work.

THE FLASH
Wait -- work what?

GOLD
(to the Metal Men)
Guys! We have to merge!

MERCURY
I really hate this.

THE FLASH
Merge...?

All Metal Men gather around Flash. And each one begins to
BATHE Flash’s entire body with their metal skin, covering him
like a mass.

CUT TO -

Zum, staring at something beyond the camera that makes his

eyes widen in surprise.

REVEAL -

- Flash now SUITED UP BY ALL THE METAL MEN forming a unique

ARMOR over his body.

EXT. METROPOLIS STREETS - DAY

Zush coordinates his warriors through the city streets. White

Martians drag people out of their homes and buildings.

THEN -

- A SONIC BOOM fills the air overhead. Zush looks up, seeking
what did that sound.

In the sky: a hole opens in the black smoke allowing a wide

beam of sunlight to shine over the city again.

From the light comes Superman and Captain Marvel, flying side
by side like two avenging angels.

ON SUPERMAN AND CAPTAIN MARVEL -

SUPERMAN
Help the others, I’ll shut down
that ship.

CAPTAIN MARVEL
(salutes)
Yes sir.

Superman BANKS to his right, heading towards the spaceship.

Like a torpedo, Superman CRASHES through the ship hull,

getting into it.

CUT TO -

Somewhere, Green Arrow fires his arrows from an overturned

bus. But he realizes that his ammunition is almost over.

Above Green Arrow - Hawkman flies past fighting four White

Martians hanging on him.

In the streets, Black Canary fights with all her martial

ability. Then she notices a White Martian charging a BOMB.

Black Canary ROUNDHOUSES the Martian before he can throw the

bomb, knocking them both to the ground. But the bomb still
BEEPS. And FASTER.

She runs away as the other Martians shoot at her, without

noticing that bomb.

THEN -

- IT EXPLODES engulfing the White Martians nearby. The

detonation jerks Black Canary ASIDE, slamming her against a
car and shattering its window.

TIGHT ON Black Canary, lying dazed on the ground.

EXT. BUILDING ROOFTOP - OSLO - DAY

At the edge, Huntress knocks down the White Martians climbing

the building toward her.

In the street just in front of her is Atom Smasher.

HUNTRESS
Hey big guy!
(MORE)

HUNTRESS (CONT’D)
(off look)
Can you bring down that thing?

She points to the White Martian ship.

ATOM SMASHER
Let’s find out.

As a Greek titan, Atom Smasher strides toward the alien ship

shaking the city he goes through.

EXT. OVER JOHANNESBURG - DAY

Near the White Martian ship just below, Green Lantern hovers
into frame. He takes a deep breath, concentrating.

After creating a protective bubble around him, Green Lantern

plunges toward the ship.

INT. WHITE MARTIANS SHIP CHIMNEY - JOHANNESBURG - DAY

Inside one of the three huge chimneys of the Martian ship,

Green Lantern floats down wrapped in his green bubble.

The black smoke is dense. The powerful energy burns in the

bottom of the chimney like the mouth of a volcano.

BATTERING RAMS extend from the surface of the bubble leaning

against the chimney, PUSHING it in 360.

Green Lantern tries but nothing happens. He stops for a

moment and takes a deep breath, regaining his will.

GREEN LANTERN
In brightest day, in the blackest
night, no evil shall escape my
sight...

Finally, the battering rams begin to take effect.

GREEN LANTERN (CONT’D)

... let those who worship evils
might beware my power...

The strength of the rams increases. We can see them CRUMPLING

deeper and deeper into the chimney surface.

GREEN LANTERN (CONT’D)

... GREEN LANTERNS LIGHT!!

Green Lantern lifts his arm over his head as the ring PULSES
A DAZZLING FLASH OF GREEN LIGHT that dims the screen.

EXT. WHITE MARTIANS SHIP - JOHANNESBURG - DAY

KA-BOOM! One of the ship’s chimneys IMPLODES in a vibrant

burst of green light that CRUMBLES the ship apart.

EXT. JOHANNESBURG STREETS - CONTINUOUS

The destruction of the Martian ship catches the attention of

Blue Beetle and Booster Gold. They see that massive structure
collapsing to the ground.

BOOSTER GOLD
HELL YEAH!

EXT. SKIES ABOVE JOHANNESBURG - DAY

A bright spot comes down. Dr. Luz materializes through the

smoke, shrunken and shining intensely her body, like a
luminous battery about to explode.

Sunlight is CHARGED inside her body, about to break free. Her

face tenses.

AND FINALLY -

- Dr. Light unfolds herself RADIATING A GLEAMING DISCHARGE OF

WHITE LIGHT that spreads throughout the city.

EXT. JOHANNESBURG - VARIOUS - DAY

All White Martians burn like vampires as that intense light

touches their skins.

RED TORNADO grips Zenturion’s throat as he bakes under the

light, HOWLING in pain.

GREEN LANTERN pulls himself out the White Martian ship

wreckage and spots Dr. Light emanating her power. And grins.

EXT. ARCTIC CIRCLE - DAY

With all the enemies defeated, Dr. Fate stands facing the
Martian ship, thinking. Vixen joins him.

VIXEN
Tell me you already have a plan.

DOCTOR FATE
It’s in process.
 125.

Ice comes up.

ICE
I froze the remaining aliens. They
will not go anywhere.

Suddenly, Aquaman bursts out the water behind them.

VIXEN
Where is the other guy?

AQUAMAN
I did he take a longer dive.

UNDERWATER:

Fluxus is carried to the dark and cold bottom of the sea in

the mouth of a KILLER WHALE.

SURFACE:

They stare at the spaceship.

ICE
We still need to deal with that
machine.

DOCTOR FATE
The layer of ice around the ship
is fragile because its landing.
That is, it is easy to break.

AQUAMAN
I got it.

Aquaman uses his sonar to contact some marine animals.

VIXEN
(to Doctor Fate)
What is he doing?

DOCTOR FATE
Solving our problems. I’ll try to
make the clouds disappear faster.

Doctor Fate FLOWS high into the air. Moments later...

... more KILLER WHALES SMASH from underwater the ice ground
under the Martian ship, fracturing it into pieces.

The chimneys’ lights FLICKER as the ship starts to WRECK into

the icy waters.

ON DOCTOR FATE -

In mid-air, gesturing both hands conjuring a spell. He utters

words in a language we have never heard before.

And magically, the black smoke covering the heavens begins to

DISPERSE thanks to the enchantment of the sorcerer.

EXT. WHITE MARTIANS SHIP - OSLO - DAY

Embraced with the Martian ship, Atom Smasher begins to MOVE

it from its own place and TOPPLES it to the ground like a
sumo wrestler.

EXT. OSLO STREETS - DAY

Either whacked, Primaid and Wonder Woman stand facing each

other in silence.

BEAT as Wonder Woman grabs her lasso.

With clenched teeth, Primaid lashes out straight for Wonder

Woman. Like a bullfighter diverting from the bull, the Amazon
DUCKS and ties her lasso around Primaid’s torso.

Before Primaid could fight back, Wonder Woman BLASTS INTO THE
SKIES lugging Primaid with her by the lasso.

EXT. ABOVE ANY CLOUD - DAY

Moments later, Wonder Woman emerges from clouds and black

smoke, then hangs in the air. She tugs her lasso, taking
Primaid into her hand.

There, the sun blazes majestically. Wonder Woman grips

Primaid by the neck while his skin burns in the sunlight.

WONDER WOMAN
I said I would defeat you. An
Amazon warrior always keeps her
word.

PRIMAID
Let me go!

WONDER WOMAN
Have your troops surrender, and
then I let you live. It’s your
choice.

Off Primaid’s panicked stare:

EXT. OSLO - NORWAY - DAY

Like Doctor Fate, Zatanna makes the same spell to scatter the
black smoke in the skies.

INT. WHITE MARTIANS’ LAIR - SEWERS - DAY

Through the monitors, Protex sees their ships crashing one by

one.

PROTEX
No, no... this is not happening!

WHITE MARTIAN SCIENTIST

Lord Protex, maybe the humans
have...

Protex cuts off the scientist grabbing his throat tightly.

PROTEX
We had everything under control.
We make humans kneel. How can they
still be fighting back?

WHITE MARTIAN SCIENTIST

(almost breathless)
The metahumans... are fighting for
the Earth.

Protex looses the scientist, who catches his breath.

WHITE MARTIAN SCIENTIST (CONT’D)

But Superman is in Metropolis. He
is the leader of the metahumans.
If you kill the leader, the others
lose strength.

Off Protex’s look, considering that...

EXT. WHITE MARTIANS SHIP - MUMBAI JUNGLE - DAY

MOVING with Flash - wearing the Metal Men armor - as he races

across the field. Then he BANKS, paving a way toward the
spaceship.

In the middle of the road he BOOSTS his speed, breaking into

the ship through the hull with his armored body.

HIGH WIDE ON: At high speed, Flash runs DRILLING THROUGH ALL
OVER THE SHIP - SEWING as he goes inside and out protected by
his armor.
 128.

It does not take long until the ship’s power starts to fail,
turning off the chimneys.

Flash leaves the ship and stops, staring as a chain of

explosions destroys the ship from the inside out.

While the ship is consumed by fire, Flash BOLTS off again.

With his super speed, the Speedster uses the fire in the ship
to ring the remaining White Martians in a kind of fire
corral.

Zum and the others have nowhere to run.

THE FLASH
Restricted way, gentlemen.

ZUM
I will tear your whole skin with
this armor or not.

THE FLASH
I’ll be waiting, after all, the
sun is almost rising.

Zum looks up and sees the smoke generated by the machine

starting to disperse.

CUT TO:

INSIDE THE MARTIAN SHIP’S SYSTEMS:

Among a tangle of circuits and systems of high complexity is

the Atom, in his diminutive shape facing all that without
knowing how to proceed.

J’onn sounds telepathically:

J’ONN (V.O.)
Atom, I need you to hurry!

We begin an INTERCUT WITH:

INT. WHITE MARTIANS SHIP - SYDNEY - INTERCUTTING

Within that cavernous space, J’onn fights alone the White

Martians who control the ship.

They swarm him at once, but the Martian Manhunter struggles

bravely. He’s clearly more experienced in combat than all,
but they are many to one man.

J’ONN
Things are not very favorable
here.

J’onn flies away as the White Martians chase him through the
ship.

RESUME THE ATOM:

Atom feels more pressure on his shoulders. He does not know

where to start.

THE ATOM
Come on, Palmer, think.

RESUME J’ONN:

During the flight, the White Martians leap trying to catch

J’onn. J’onn clutches one of them in the air...

... and flings it at another one coming in the other

direction.

RESUME THE ATOM:

Still surveying his options.

THE ATOM
(to himself)
How to turn off something you’ve
never seen in life?

BEAT as Atom makes a decision.

THE ATOM (CONT’D)

Screw it.

Atom raises both fists above his head and DRIVES THEM INTO
THE SYSTEMS, crushing everything with his bare hands.

Sparks and metal shards fly.

RESUME J’ONN:
 130.

As the ship’s MAIN CONSOLE BLOWS UP, drawing the White

Martians’ eyes.

J’onn takes advantage of that little moment of distraction

and ASSAILS the enemies. He disperses his fury by punches and
kicks against the White Martians.

Meanwhile, on the upper catwalk, Atom strikes out other White

Martians in his miniature shape, and some are thrown off the
platform.

When all the enemies are defeated, we hear engines STALLING.

The chimneys stopped working.

J’onn looks at Atom:

J’ONN
I thought your solution would be
more... discreet.

THE ATOM
But it worked, right?

J’ONN (V.O.)
(telepathy)
Batman, here is J’onn. There’s
something I need to tell about the
hiding place of the White
Martians.

EXT. SYDNEY STREETS - DAY

Armek is ON FIRE thanks to Firestorm, who scorches him with

his fire blast. The Martian runs desperate.

NIGHTWING
Steel, now!

As Armek gets away, Steel emerges and THWACKS him in the face
with his huge HAMMMER. Armek flips and hits flat on the
ground.

The heroes look to the sky - the black smoke is spreading

more and more.

EXT. TARMAC - AIR FORCE BASE - DAY

The White Martians oversee the defenseless military.

Steve hears them talking to each other in their own tongue.

He turns to his friend beside, whispering:

STEVE
I’ll try to catch one of them. You
cover me.

PILOT
Are you crazy? If they do not kill
you, they will kill all us!

STEVE
If they wanted to kill us, they
would have already done it. They
want something more from us.

PILOT
What do you mean?

One of the Martian approach. Steve prepares for the attack.

STEVE
He is coming. Get ready.

PILOT
Shit...

When Steve is about to execute his plan...

... SUNLIGHT beams leak through the black smoke in the sky
STARTLING the White Martians.

STEVE
(shouts)
It’s our chance!

Steve gets up and knocks out the Martian next to him to get
his plasma weapon. Then he BLASTS PLASMA SHOTS.

The White Martians try to react, but more sunlight beams

begin to bathe the tarmac by limiting the aliens.

The other soldiers seize this moment and retaliate at the

same time, catching the white Martians unprepared.

EXT. MILITARY BASE - AFTERNOON

The same happens there. Martians try to protect themselves

from the sun while the soldiers strike back.

SERGEANT
Kill all those motherfuckers!

The humans are turning the tide at their favor.

 132.

EXT. METROPOLIS STREETS - AFTERNOON

Captain Marvel hits the pavement with Zush on top of him,

trying to bite his face.

ZUSH
I have overcome the Kryptonian, I
can beat you too.

But the sound of engines shutting down catches Zush’s

attention. He turns his head around and sees the spaceship
dying, ceasing its smokes.

As Zush stares speechless, Captain Marvel pulls him by the

neck near his own face.

CAPTAIN MARVEL
But the Kryptonian can not do
this...
(then)
SHAZAM!

KRAK-BOOM!

A MYSTICAL LIGHTNING BOLT hits Zush over Captain Marvel,

roasting him in seconds.

INT. WHITE MARTIANS SHIP - METROPOLIS - AFTERNOON

Using his heat vision, Superman slaughters the entire

interior of the ship.

PROTEX (O.S.)
So it’s you who all idolize.

As Superman whirls around...

... WHAM! He takes a surprise PUNCH from Protex. The Man of

Steel flies meters back.

PROTEX
They will stop when I show your
dead body for all of them.

INT. BATCAVE - AFTERNOON

Alfred comes in and finds Batman typing frantically.

ALFRED
Master Wayne, the clouds -- It’s
disappearing!

But Batman is focused on his computer. On one screen displays

a GOTHAM PLANT.

ALFRED (CONT’D)
Sir?

BATMAN
J’onn warned me that the lair of
the Martians may be in the Gotham
sewers. I hacked into the pipeline
networks...

On another screen, Batman shows what he found.

BATMAN (CONT’D)
... I discovered a certain area of
Gotham which the whole gas system
was down for maintenance. But
there are no official reports
about it.

ALFRED
And what is the relation of this
with the White Martians?

BATMAN
Martians can not resist the fire.

EXT. METROPOLIS STREETS - AFTERNOON

Green Arrow moves to get his arrow but all are over. Now, he
uses his bow as a staff next to Black Canary, both
surrounded.

Hawkman lands beside them. The three of them stand with their
backs to each other swarmed by the White Martians.

GREEN ARROW
Last words?

HAWKMAN
Beat them first before they can
hit you.

BLACK CANARY
This does not sound so bad.

The three are perhaps preparing for their last battle. But a
flash of light interrupts the moment.

HAWKMAN
What the hell is that?
 134.

They turn their heads to a DIMENSIONAL PORTAL, a rip in the

air. And from the portal comes AQUAMAN, VIXEN, ICE and DOCTOR
FATE.

GREEN ARROW
The backup, my friend.

The heroes regain their hopes.

Suddenly, the street TREMORS. Not like an earthquake, but

like heavy FOOTSTEPS coming.

Black Canary spins to ATOM SMASHER looming down in the

street. Behind him, another dimensional portal created by
Zatanna. Wonder Woman and Huntress step through it.

INT. BATCAVE - AFTERNOON

Batman leaves. Alfred leans closely to a monitor.

ON ONE MONITOR: The black smoke on planet Earth is slowly

dispersing.

INT. WHITE MARTIANS SHIP - METROPOLIS - AFTERNOON

Superman and Protex BRAWL. Their strength is equivalent to

the other.

PROTEX
We are not the real enemies here,
we want to save your world.

Protex hits Superman hard enough to knock him on four.

PROTEX (CONT’D)
I’ve lived here long enough to see
how humans treat themselves. They
only need a single leader to take
them until dawn.

SUPERMAN
Your concept of “save” means to
enslave and kill the population?

PROTEX
Sacrifices will always be made.

SUPERMAN
I disagree.
 135.

Superman hugs Protex and TAKES OFF slamming him on the wall,
POUNDING and pounding his face. Protex retaliates kneeling
Superman’s stomach, then ELBOWS his back.

Protex falls to a standing position as Superman hits face

down on the floor. The Kryptonian tries to get up, but the
White Martian kicks his chest, sending him backwards.

PROTEX
(walking toward Superman)
Your biggest mistake was letting
the humans accommodated too much.
With your skills, you could have
taken power long before us, but
you chose to abase to their level.

SUPERMAN
No... I do not abased me, I became
one of them. And now, they believe
in me to do the right thing...
(stands up)
... and I will not disappoint
them.

Protex stops, surprised by Superman’s attitude.

PROTEX
No, deep down you know the
inferiority of them. You know that
they fear you. But you’re too
naive to accept.

SUPERMAN
You underestimate them. Right now,
I hear your machines crumble; your
soldiers being defeated by our
“inferiority”. No, we are not
inferior to you... quite the
contrary.

Protex’s confidence vanishes to be replaced by angry.

PROTEX
Shut up!

Protex LUNGES with a clenched fist. When it looks like he

will hit Superman in full, Superman GRABS his fist.

A SHOCK WAVE sounds like THUNDERCLAP with the impact.

Off Protex’s shocked look, Superman SWATS him with his other
fist sending Protex wildly backwards.
 136.

INT. WHITE MARTIANS’ LAIR - SEWERS - AFTERNOON

Everyone works packing all the weapons and equipment to get

out of that place.

WHITE MARTIAN SCIENTIST

Hurry up with that, our mission
was compromised.

BATMAN (O.S.)
None of you will go anywhere.

The Martian scientist turns around to Batman, walking calmly

out the shadows.

WHITE MARTIAN SCIENTIST

You... you are the man among the
gods of the Justice League. You
came alone to us?

BATMAN
It just need me to take care of
all you.

The scientist laughs in debauch. He strides toward Batman,

but the Dark Knight draws a LIGHTER from his belt and lifts
it over his head.

WHITE MARTIAN SCIENTIST

This is your lethal weapon?

BATMAN
The weakness of all Martians is
fire.

WHITE MARTIAN SCIENTIST

Well, I think you miscalculated
for this lighter.

The hundreds of White Martians surround Batman to show him

that lighter is useless.

BATMAN
It’s not about numbers. Didn’t you
feel something different in the
air?

They pause. The White Martian Scientist sniffs until feel

something that makes him FREEZE.

WHITE MARTIAN SCIENTIST

(realizing)
Gas.
 137.

BATMAN
I activated the gas system and
redirected everything here before
coming. I just need a spark to
turn all this place into a
fireball.

WHITE MARTIAN SCIENTIST

You would not dare! You would die
here too.

BATMAN
(smiles)
My suit is fireproofed. And yours?

The White Martians exchange looks, really concerned.

INT. WHITE MARTIANS SHIP - METROPOLIS - AFTERNOON

As they swap punches in mid-air, Superman and Protex collide

constantly on the walls.

Protex grasps Superman’s hair and RUBS his face through the
metal wall. Finally, he flings the hero into the ground.

As Superman recomposes, he notes Protex advancing. He uses

his SUPER BREATH to push the Martian in the opposite
direction.

Protex hits his back on the ceiling and drops to the ground.
Both fighters get on their feet.

PROTEX
You are a fool! Our mission will
still be accomplished, no matter
how much you fight. Your biggest
mistake is to think you can defeat
me alone.

SUPERMAN
Unlike you, I’m not alone.

With fire in the eyes, Protex CHARGES Superman. In midway,

TIME SLOWS for us as...

... THE FLASH ROCKETS THROUGH THE SHIP’S WALL! Still wearing
the Metal Men armor.

BACK TO NORMAL SPEED as Flash STRIKES Protex in the face,

throwing him away.

THE FLASH
(to Superman)
Are you all right?

SUPERMAN
(re: the armor)
Where did you get this?

THE FLASH
Long history.

Protex stands up after the blow.

PROTEX
I still can kill both of you.

AT THAT MOMENT -

- Wonder Woman and Green Lantern BLAST through the wall on

the catwalk above. Hit aims his ring at Protex.

J’onn and Aquaman break into by the other side, letting more
sunlight invade the ship.

Atom Smasher’s MASSIVE HANDS RIP OPEN the hull, making a way
for the other heroes come in.

J’ONN
It’s over for you, Protex.

SUPERMAN
Surrender peacefully and send your
soldiers do the same.

PROTEX
Congratulations, Kryptonian, you
beat me. But if you do not kill me
now, I’ll come back and make each
of you kneel before me.

Superman DASHES forward, grips Protex by the collar and slams

him against the wall.

SUPERMAN
I will not kill you because I do
not have to be a murderer to stop
you.
(beat)
Now tell where are your
infiltrated men.

PROTEX
Never.
 139.

J’onn lands, joining them.

J’ONN
All right, it’s not necessary.

The Martian Manhunter touches Protex’s head and begins to

READ his mind, which take us to -

SERIES OF SHOTS:

1) In A PENTAGON CORRIDOR, two White Martians patrol. As they

turn a corner, they face Superman and J’onn, and raise their
weapons.

SUPERMAN
You really want to do this?

2) In the WHITE HOUSE, Green Arrow, Black Canary and Red

Tornado catch another bunch of White Martians.

3) On a AIRCRAFT CARRIER, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle and Dr.

Light arrest more White Martians.

EXT. MUMBAI JUNGLE - MORNING

At the ruins of the spaceship, Flash oversees the White

Martians stepping through a PORTAL created by Zatanna.

Above their heads, Green Lantern has created a CANOPY that

shields them from the sun, as well as energy HANDCUFFS on
their wrists.

INT. WHITE MARTIANS’ LAIR - SEWERS - DAY

Batman, Captain Marvel, Aquaman and Hawkman monitor the

Martians leaving the sewers.

INT. HALL OF JUSTICE - DAY

Wonder Woman, Doctor Fate and Captain Atom approach the Alpha
White Martian they faced at the headquarters, still stuck.

ALPHA WHITE MARTIAN

You came to finish the job?

WONDER WOMAN
How did you guess?

She nods to Doctor Fate. The sorceress recites a spell and

seconds later, a portal materializes in the hall.
 140.

EXT. FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE - DUSK

The safest place on Earth. A MASSIVE ice fortress in the

heart of North Pole.

Wonder Woman soars into frame, followed by Green Lantern who

carries a huge ENERGY VAULT.

INT. FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE - DUSK

It’s a VAST ATRIUM. Hundreds and hundreds of feet high. Two

towering statues stand in the center of the room,
representing: JOR-EL and LARA-EL. Superman’s parents.

That green vault rests on the floor alongside Wonder Woman,

Aquaman, J’onn and Green Lantern. Superman walks up toting a
strange high-tech DEVICE.

SUPERMAN
Open it.

The vault door swings open. DOZENS OF WHITE MARTIANS step

out, still handcuffed.

Superman TRIGGERS his device creating a PORTAL. The White

Martians enter that portal lined up, disappearing from the
fortress one by one.

Off which, TIME CUT -

LATER

The last White Martian gets through the portal, then Superman
closes it.

AQUAMAN
Where did you send them all?

SUPERMAN
A dimension where they will never
hurt someone again. The Phantom
Zone.

WONDER WOMAN
Finally, it’s over.

J’ONN
Not exactly. There must still be
White Martians out there, running,
hiding.

AQUAMAN
We’ll find them all.
 141.

SUPERMAN
Yes, we will. After all, it is our
duty.

DISSOLVE TO:

EXT. HALL OF JUSTICE - DAY

Establishing.

INT. HALL OF JUSTICE - DAY

We focus on Superman and only him as he stands in the center

of frame. Behind him, the other six founding League members
attend side by side.

Superman speaks at someone beyond the camera:

SUPERMAN
Formerly, I faced a challenge that
could never win alone. Then when
we form the Justice League, I
thought that nothing could bring
us down... but I was wrong. And
how good I was.
(beat)
A few days ago we faced a threat
that came close to annihilate us,
take our world. And the Justice
League could hardly beat them, but
thanks to each of you, we did it.
(then)
I said I was happy to be wrong
about the power of the League
since realized how the world is
big and can offer us various
opportunities and advantages. Just
so I could open my eyes to further
cover our limits.

He takes a step forward.

SUPERMAN (CONT’D)
So, ladies and gentlemen, I invite
everyone to be part of this group
and help us keep the world safe
from any threat. It’s our home and
no one will take it from us. What
do you say?

REVERSE ANGLE REVEALS to us -

MOST OF THE SUPERHEROES REUNITED IN THE HALL. The same ones

who fought during the alien invasion.

After Superman’s words, all of them CHEER happily,

celebrating. The founding members walk up to Superman.

J’ONN
There are a lot of people.

SUPERMAN
We can handle.

BATMAN
We can guide them, train them if
necessary. We can make it work.

GREEN LANTERN
Since when the bat is so
optimistic?

AQUAMAN
If we can get together and save
the world, they can too.

SUPERMAN
(grins)
I agree.

EXT. HALL OF JUSTICE - DAY

CAMERA PULLS BACK gradually moving away from the building.

Camera continues ascending, until we look from a high angle

to the headquarters of the Justice League.

CUT TO BLACK.
