Point Break Down

Earn points for your class and section to participate in the Music Theory Olympics.
Points can be earned in several ways. See the list below for more information on
how to earn points for your class country or your section. During the Olympic
games, countries and states can buy perks and team bonuses.

Just as points can be earned, points can also be lost.

For your section state:

—Scale Challenges (Earn points for your section by performing and writing your Major
and minor scales during nutrition for 1 POINT/each)
—Weekly Rhythms (During class, perform weekly rhythm correctly for 1 POINT)
—Spot Checks in music (During class, perform spot checks for 1-5 POINTS/person)
— Theory Vocabulary (Recall previous days vocabulary, 1 POINT )
—Theory Worksheets (Top scores on worksheets earn 1-5 POINTS/worksheet)

For your class country:

—Vocabulary Assessments (Fridays)
—Practice Logs (Fridays)
: class averages above 80 percent — 3 POINTS
: class averages above 90 percent — 4 POINTS
: class averages above 100 percent — 5 POINTS + donuts*

—Theory Worksheets (@ random)

: top scores on worksheets earn 1-5 POINTS/worksheet
