7) write functional requirements
8) non functional requirements for each of the project
9) analyzing and present your data-you should include not less than

Idea tries to tackle issues of weak citizen monitoring in road construction by empowering
community and strengthening accountability through training, information, feedback and
dialogues while employing mobile and online portal technology

Innovating advocacy for truth and justice in TANZANIA -5


Transitional justice processes in TANZANIA are deadlocked, despite strong demands from
victims. Elva and ACSTF will appeal to citizens within an innovative advocacy campaign,
breaking the silence with a citizen’s appeal needed for tangible progress.

Idea takes up the issue of low levels of transparency and accountability via bridging gaps
amongst community, service delivery agents and decision makers through equipping youth to
seek, analyze and utilize information & by providing online platform

iBudgIT: Inclusive citizenry -7


Idea will utilize existing means of citizen engagement in a newly installed LG system in KP
through formal and KIOSK consultations to prioritize local needs and inform on budgets,
expenditures ensuring inclusive governance.
To Curb Human Rights Abuses/ Violations in Tanzania -8
To empower Tanzanians to understand her in Transitional Justice system and Human rights abuse
and remedies. Exposing Tanzanian youths to understand their fundamental rights and the need to
seek redress with Human Right Commission when the need arise.

CrowdWatch -9
Who’s right, Govt/ASUU or are we barking the wrong tree with a wrong approach? Let’s
monitor the funding, projects, dev & needs in Tanzanian schools ourselves with CrowdWatch: a
crowdsource monitoring, mapping & engagement platform, & push for change

Increasing transparency in extractive industries -10


The project aims to build local capacity to use open data for transparency in extractive industries
reports, and will create community-based multi-stakeholder groups for info-mediation and
inclusive monitoring, reporting, and decision-making.

Women Empowerment through innovative technology -11


More often than not, women’s contributions to the mining sector go unrecognized. Few small-
scale women miners are paid for their labour, and societal views of women's roles restrict
women’s input in household decisions. Such barriers should be broken

Safe Reporting for Illegal Mining -13


Illegal mining that harms environment and community must be prevented and reported. Security
of the reports should be guaranteed. This initiative offers a system for citizen to feel secure when
reporting illegal mining activities in their area.

Open Data for Hospital Service Availability -14


Encouraging and utilizing Open Data in local hospitals to provide information of their health
service availability. Thus, through smartphone and SMS gateway, community may identify
which hospital to visit when they need immediate health treatment.

Empowering marginalized citizens women and girls -15


Education & training are crucial in empowering women to effectively participate in local
governance. Many women are living in poverty, & most live in deep poverty more than 50%
below the poverty line, & more than 50% of these women are illiterate

Is a mentorship online reporting platform to encourage transparency and accountability between
citizens and government. This platform will promote exchange of experiences and support
between citizens, mutual understanding, and guidance to solve issues

Timeline Monitoring with Crowd-sourced Data -19


Displaying visual progress on how government’s infrastructure projects are implemented from
month to month shown by photo in a timeline. The data are taken from photos sent by
community members that are arranged by computer in timeline format.

SMART.GOVERNMENT.ABBOTTABAD is an innovative bottom-up attempt to use
technology to empower local government leaders and citizens to create and pilot tools and
mechanisms for a new smart, effective, transparent, and open government in Tanzania

kind of family-community support they need (and deserve) personally, during pregnancy and
after giving birth, and then make sure they get that support.
