Understanding the Fruition

John 3:1-17

1" I am the true vine, and My Father is the vine-dresser. (Jesus is the vine, god is the vine-dresser)

2"Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so
that it may bear more fruit.
3" You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
4" Abide(continue) in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so
neither can you unless you abide in Me.
5"I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me
you can do nothing. (imagine a big vine)
6"If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast
them into the fire and they are burned.
7"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
8"My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.
9"Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.
10"If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments
and abide in His love. (we have to be like Jesus)
11"These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.

12"This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.
13"Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.
14"You are My friends if you do what I command you.
15"No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you
friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.
16" You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your
fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.
17"This I command you, that you love one another.

Intro:
Fruition, in fact, is the goal of discipleship. The result of the growth in holiness and personal gift is to be
effective for the sake of the Kingdom of God in our lives. The Fruition is productive for our own development.
Someone who is continually being productive will be healthy and motivated in their external walk with god.
Stagnation brings frustration that leads back to a lack of fruition.
The Holy Spirit is given to us to bear fruit for God in our lives. For our good will and delivery can enable
it, or by our disobedience and stubbornness can prevent (Luke 12:21).God's purpose for us is that our whole life,
that is, every part of our life, whether rich toward him, bearing fruit for our benefit and for His glory. Jesus said it
was for their fruit that they have known. (Matthew 7:16-20). Many of the most common reasons of lack of fruiting
are in areas related to our life and personal emotions. Unless we put our house in order in those areas of our
lives, battles and fears dominate inside and run over us always, whatever potential there is for God.
Understanding the Fruition
Fruitful - fertile, productive, always bears fruit (Psalm 1:3)
I. Introduction
- Fruiting - is productive for our own development, the goal of discipleship
- Stagnation - brings frustration and lack of fruiting
If we do our personal and emotional life is fruitful not achieve God's purpose in our lives.
Matthew 7: 16-20 "By their fruits ye shall know them"
II. Four major areas we need to study seriously to be successful and reach for God
1. Having a clear understanding of faith
 Disciple who lives continuously in the word of Jesus (by knowledge of writing)
 Let the word enter our hearts
 When we understand the faith that frees us from the evil of our feelings and emotions

1. Integrity in the whole of life

 Be whole
 One piece
 Our life must be integrated before God

1. Discipline of time and life

 Knowing God's purpose in our lives
 Use the time according to the purpose
 Living in any discipline given by God (2 Timothy 1:7)
 Establish clear priorities in our lives
 Define where we are going
• that fence according to the will and purpose of God
• work accordingly
• Example: If I want to study to become an engineer I will not enroll in secretarial
courses.
• When we have a definite purpose in our lives comes a time when that comes to
us discouragement and dissatisfaction

1. Spiritual goals and compliance

 We need to set goals according to God's purpose
 Strive to attain reach
Understanding the Fruition

Four major areas that need serious consideration to be fruitful and reach for God :
1 - HAVE A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF FAITH.
A disciple is a person who submits to live continuously on the word of Jesus. But for this to be real, there must
be an opening and an understanding of spiritual truth. This can be achieved only by really getting to know the
writing, not only in our intellect, but in our hearts. Doing this helps us to discern truth from error. If we are to be
effective in our evangelism then we need to develop a clear understanding of what we believe and why we
believe. No need to take a course in theology to do this. The Holy Spirit has promised to be the teacher and
guide for those seeking to know more of the deep things of God (1 Corinthians 2:9-16). The same is true for our
everyday lives. An understanding of the faith to which we are called, we mean the domain free of our own
feelings and emotions. There is great spiritual strength to be gained by remaining steadfast in the faith. This
means that we understand the terrible truths of scripture and that we have ours, so we now have a foundation for
our life that is more secure and stable than our feelings or circumstances.

2 - INTEGRITY OF THE ENTIRE LIFE

Our life is like a car battery. It is composed of more than one cell. To make this battery work effectively every cell
needs to be in good condition. If one or two cells are damaged, the effectiveness of the entire battery is affected.
It's just the same with our lives, maturity has to do with all of life. It is not worth giving much emphasis to the
spiritual areas without realizing that Jesus must be Lord over all life. Spiritual power has to do with trust. We can
not be entrusted to God if we know that some part of our life is in contradiction with the rest of it (1 John 3: 21-
22)

3 - DISCIPLINE OF TIME AND LIFE.

Most people lose a tremendous amount of time and energy simply because they do not exercise the actual
administration of their time are and how they use it. We need not become slaves of any mind in time and
method, but we need to ask questions about the purpose of our life and use of our time. We need to live in God-
given spiritual discipline (2 Timothy 1:7).
One source of spiritual discipline means that we are living under a wrong kind of pressure, without clear priorities
clarified in our lives. This lack of purpose soon breed the spiritual dissatisfaction and loss of spiritual vitality.

4 - GOALS AND SPIRITUAL FULFILLMENT.

We need to set goals for our life and know what we want in our service for Christ (Philippians 3:12).
