Poverty has always remained a critical social problem that calls to
be addressed.
The incidence of poverty in the country has remained significantly
high for almost a decade, but the government has not stopped planning to eradicate the problem.
In the province of Oriental Mindoro, the government has been
working hand in hand with the cooperative sector to attain socio- economic progress and development.
The provincial government is also consistent with its efforts to
strengthen the interconnectedness of cooperatives by highlighting the need for strong cooperation, sharing of information and organizational strengthening.
As such, we are here to recognize the Outstanding Cooperatives
and the active Municipal/City Cooperative Development Councils and conduct various activities relative to cooperative sector. This is to motivate them better and encourage their further involvement in Oriental Mindoro’s battle against poverty.
Through the cooperatives, we hope to create jobs and empower
the poor in order to uplift their quality of lives.
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
