FACULTY OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (FBA)- TON DUC THANG UNIVERSITY

1. Introduction
With over 10 years of establishment, the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) specializes in teaching and
researching in Ton Duc Thang University. FBA provides education in three levels linked together: post graduate,
university undergraduate and college undergraduate. Faculty of Business Administration has trained 11 regular
college courses. For the undergraduate education, FBA has two systems as full time and part time. The quantity of
students is 2643. The motto of FBA are: 1) Learning-Know-Act, 2) school associated with the enterprise, 3)
Individuals associated with the community. To do this motto, the Faculty exercises: 1) Students must be familiar
future environmental work throughout the four years in school, 2) Not any curriculum and teacher is good as the
good practice in reality.
2. Education quality
Faculty’s implement training activities accords to management system standard ISO 9001: 2001, focuses to practice
and meets the requirements of society. 100% teaching staff with the post graduate degrees and experience go up
with students and actively develop the capacity to teach. Students have full access to modern facilities for the
academic and research including: projector, computer lab practices, libraries, Internet. New methods of teaching
accounts over 50% of time in order to develop students’ capacity such as presentations, group discussions, forum to
exchange experiences with other business managers. In addition to foreign language programs in school, FBA
coordinates with the language center Cleverlearn teach additional English for students. FBA sets the standard of
graduates to becoming qualified, proficient use of computer and TOEIC certification from 450-500 points.

3. Curriculum
The education program is built of on reference on the basis of the training program of business schools worldwide
such as Harvard Business School, George Washington School. The program also focuses knowledge, job skills and
ways of thinking for students. From academic year 2008 - 2009, Faculty changes to training on credits allowing

students to learn beyond, shortening time and reach 2 degrees at the same time. Total number of credits students
accumulating in university system is credits and in college system 104 credits.
4. Specializations
Faculty focused training 4 specializations that businesses have high demand: Marketing Management, Financial
Management, International Business Management, Hospitality Management.
International Business Management
o Personnel training on export and investment for businesses, especially multinational companies.
o Graduates have moral and health and professional skills, depth on foreign trade and investment in
the international market.
o The main subjects: export import transactions, customs operation, investment management,
international business management.
o Students who meet the language requirements will learn specialized subjects and protect thesis in
English.
o Year 1: Students are learning 32 credits in basic knowledges
o Year 2: Students are learning 37 credits in basic knowledges and basic specialization knowledges
o Year 3: Students are learning 37 credits in industry knowledge.
o Year 4: Students are learning 18 credits in industry knowledge, one credit in seeking job and 10
credits in graduate internship.
Marketing Management
o Personnel training in marketing, communications, sales and public relations for businesses.
o Graduates have moral and health and professional skills, depth of marketing, public relations
o and sales.
o The main subjects: marketing management,, marketing research, media communication, Public
Relations.
o Year 1: Students are learning 32 credits in basic knowledges
o Year 2: Students are learning 37 credits in basic knowledges and basic specialization knowledges
o Year 3: Students are learning 37 credits in industry knowledge.
o Year 4: Students are learning 18 credits in industry knowledge, one credit in seeking job and 10
credits in graduate internship.
Hospitality Management
o Training human resources management for restaurants, hotels, amusement parks, tourism
services.
o Graduates have moral and health and professional skills, depth on the management of restaurants,
hotels, parks, entertainment.
o The course typically includes monitoring and hotel management, marketing services, management
of chamber and rooms, receptionist management, resorts and amusement parks management.
o From the year two students are sent to the major hotels inside and outside the city to practice.
Year 3 students can enrol practice abroad.
o Year 1: Students are learning 35 credits in basic knowledges
o Year 2: Students are learning 38 credits in basic knowledges and basic specialization knowledges

o Year 3: Students are learning 37 credits in industry knowledge.
o Year 4: Students are learning 16 credits in industry knowledge, one credit in seeking job and 10
credits in graduate internship.
Financial Management
o Personnel training in finance, investment for businesses and financial institutions.
o Graduates have moral and health and professional skills, depth on financial planning, analysis,
financial investment.
o The typical subjects include financial management, risk management, accounting management,
accounting, project management.
o Year 1: Students are learning 32 credits in basic knowledges
o Year 2: Students are learning 39 credits in basic knowledges and basic specialization knowledges
o Year 3: Students are learning 42 credits in industry knowledge.
o Year 4: Students are learning 16 credits in industry knowledge, one credit in seeking job and 10
credits in graduate internship.
College
o Training of human resources in marketing, sales, financial, personnel, production for businesses,
industrial and financial institutions.
o Graduates have moral and health; to master professional skills, depth of marketing, sales, finance,
personnel, production.
o Graduate students can enroll to university level for university degree
o The typical subjects: marketing, production management, financial management, quality
management.
o Year 1: Students are learning 36 credits in basic knowledges
o Year 2: Students are learning 37 credits in basic knowledges and basic specialization knowledges.
o Year 3: Students are learning 19 credits in industry knowledge, one credit in seeking job and 8
credits in graduate internship.
5. Achievements
Provided with adequate learning facilities, FBA’s students achieve students outstanding achievements in education,
scientific research and other talent contests. Excellent students rate is 34%, good 53%. Almost every year students
are awarded prizes for scientific research and talent.

Graduates are very good to meet the requirements of society. According to statistics, the percentage of graduates
have jobs now and in the first year to reach about 70 to 80%. After the second year after graduation, random
sample survey shows that students do not have unemployment. Some students have to adapt and integrate quickly
into the work environment to become good employees and managers of leading companies in Vietnam. Many
students of has completed the post graduate program to teach in university and colleges.
