XX, in advance of our meeting on <Date>, I’ve crafted some questions I’d like to
discuss with you.

I wanted you to have the questions in advance as some may take a bit of thought and
want to accomplish as much as possible during our meeting.

What are your main goals for the conference department?

What are the obstacles to achieving these goals?

Given no constraints, what is your ideal solution?

What needs to change to allow you to reach your “ideal solution”?

What disciplines have you changed in the last 4-5 years and what resulted from those
changes?

What have you not changed that you were expecting different results than what you
received?

With regard to exhibit and/or sponsorship sales for your conference/event, what would
success look like to you? How will you know when you’ve achieved it?

Are you satisfied with the level of sales you are currently achieving in the exhibit and
sponsorship arena? If not, what are the obstacles that keep you from satisfaction?

In your tenure here at <Org>, what accomplishment are you most proud of?

Do you want a partner that initiates change or do you believe it should come from within
your organization?
