Summary
The content consists of the names and characteristics of the specific animals. Since it is the first week of a new
unit, the lesson will be mostly teacher-centered. Firstly, the teacher will introduce animals as ‘farm animals’
and ‘jungle animals’ by using a popplet map. Then, whole class will work on pronunciation by repeating after
the teacher. Sometimes teacher can make half of the class repeat the word to evaluate if they can do it
correctly. After that, teacher will cover the abilities of the animals and a related song will be listened two or
three times. At the end of the lesson, a short game will take place. Teacher will assign some students as
different animals. She or he will walk around the class and talk to each student, who can only reply as an
animal. E.g. T: “Hello Zeynep”, S1: “Moo!” (cow). T: How are you Buğra? S2: “Hsssssss!” (snake). Then, teacher
will ask students to guess the name of the represented animal. Lastly, a worksheet will be given as homework
