SUBJECT : LETTER OF AWARD (LOA) FOR SUPPLY OF MONOLITHIC INSULATION

JOINTS FOR RELIANCE SPUR LINE PROJECT.

REFERENCE: EMAIL DT. NOV 28th, 2009

Subject to the remainder of this letter of award (the “LOA”), Cairn Energy India Pty
Limited (the “Company”) is pleased to confirm that the Company intends to award to M/s.
IGP Engineers, Chennai (the “Contractor”) a contract for supply of Monolithic Insulation
Joints for Reliance Spur Line Project (the “Supply”) for the Company’s operations in the
RJ-ON-90/1 Block.

With effect from the date of acceptance by the Contractor of this LOA until such date as
the Company and the Contractor enter into a formal contract (the “Contract”) for the
Work, the Contractor shall commence and carry out the Supply in accordance with the
following documents (the “Relevant Documents”):

i) The Company’s request for quotation (email dated November 26, 2009).
ii) The final response to quotation by the Contractor’s Tendor No. BLOCK-RJ-ON-
90/1 dt. Nov 28th, 2009.
iii) All clarifications on the Request to quotation/Response to quotation exchanged in
writing between the Company and the Contractor till 30 November 2009.
In the event of any inconsistency between any of the Relevant Documents, the order of
precedence for the purposes of this LOA, Appendix-1 to this LOA, followed by all
clarifications issued in writing by the Company to the Contractor, followed by the
Company’s Invitation to Tender, followed by the Contractor’s Response to Tender.

The Company and the Contractor undertake to execute the Contract on the basis of the
Relevant Documents within 30 days of the date of issue of this LOA (or any extended
period agreed between the parties). If the Company and the Contractor fail to execute
the Contract within such period, then the Company shall have the right to terminate this
LOA by giving written notice to the Contractor. With this LOA the Contractor is
authorized to carryout all activities included in the scope of supply of the Relevant

Main Contractual Terms

1. Scope of Supply: The Scope of Supply (for Reliance Spur Line) shall be as
detailed in the Company’s Request for quotation (email dated November 26,
2009).

2. Prices / Rates : The prices / Rates payable by the Company to the Contractor
for Supply shall be set out in Annexure-1

3. Delivery Schedule: The Delivery Schedule for the Supply shall be as below and
shall be effective from date of award of LOA as per agreed scope of work by
Supplier.

• Deliveries shall start from December 22, 2009 and ends on or before
December 29th, 2009, DDP (INCOTERMS2000), Mumbai.

4. Payment Terms : The Contractor shall be paid for the Supply in accordance with
the following provisions :

- 100% Payment shall be made within 30 days from the date of receipt of materials.

5. Liquidated damages: Liquidated damages shall be levied at the rate of 0.5%

per week for a max of 5% of the Shipping Invoice value. It shall be applicable in
case of delay of delivery from agreed delivery date.

6. Packing : Packing shall be suitable for road transport.
