Les Koonce

Location: Menlo Park, Ca

Les Koonce graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Campbell College in
1971, where he majored in Accounting. Afterwards, Les worked as an insurance agent for Penn Mutual
Life, before he started his own company, Koonce Financial, in the early '80s. An ambitious self-starter,
Les has been self-employed for most of his working life and has 41 years of experience in the financial
services industry. Although Les will be retiring in 2018, Koonce Financial will continue to provide
personalized financial planning and financial strategies to individual and business clients.

As a financial advisor and problem-solver, Les provides his clients with strategic and personalized plans
that are focused on providing a comfortable retirement. He likes to build close relationships with his
clients and help them achieve their goals and objectives. Les considers himself a friend first, and an
advisor second.

Les also likes to give back to the community. Currently, he is a board member of Menlo Park Chamber of
Commerce, and he volunteers for the Menlo Park Kiwanis Club, which provides food to the poor through
their Christmas homeless program. He formerly served as president of both organizations.

Furthermore, Les recently retired as a board member of Jean Weingarten Children's Center that helps
deaf and disadvantaged children. He admires the Wounded Warrior Project, which provides programs
and services for injured veterans and active duty service members. Les has also been a board member of
other non-profits, and he hopes to join an organization in January 2018 that helps people in Nepal's
most impoverished villages.

In his spare time, Les enjoys most sports — he supports the Duke Blue Devils basketball team — and
likes to travel with friends. Les' faith is an important pillar in his life, and is passionate about his family
and setting a good example. On a typical Sunday afternoon, Les can be found working out at the YMCA,
spending time with his wife and granddaughters, or searching for his next travel opportunity.
