Firstly may I take this opportunity to wish you all a Very Happy New Year.

Speech and Drama

We are delighted to welcome Mrs. Marie Murray back to the school for Speech and Drama for the next six weeks.
Children from 1st to 6th class will be participating in Feis Maitiu for the first time this year. They are going to enter

the Choral Verse and Action Verse categories. We look forward to seeing their performances over the coming
weeks.

Christmas Play

Following on from our wonderful Christmas Concert night we would like to confirm that a cheque for €150 is being
donated to Cork Simon Community – thank you all for your support.

School Milk
We were notified by Glanbia, our school milk suppliers, that they have had to increase the price of milk of school
milk. The scheme will be available again from the 29th of January until Friday 16th of March. The cost of milk for this
term will be €11.20 per child. Please fill out the attached slip and return it by 14th of September if you wish your
child to avail of milk.

Heritage Project in 5th and 6th Class


Mrs. O’Shaughnessy and all the pupils in 5th and 6th class have put a lot of work into their Heritage Project on Matehy
Graveyard. Parents were welcomed today to listen to a presentation of the project. The project will now go forward
into the Cork Heritage Project scheme.

Green Schools
Ms Walshe and the Green Schools Committee will attend an Irish Water Explorers Workshop next Thursday to help
develop our water conservation skills in school.
Homework Club
Homework Club will run on Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesday for this term.

Toys/Games request
As it is that time that you may be looking to clear out unwanted toys, we are looking for the following in good
condition*please do not be offended if we need to return toys as we may get multiple items*.
