PRACTICUM 3 - SUMMATIVE EVALUATION
‘The primary purpose of this document is to evaluate the progress of the Teacher Candidate and inform the
Director of the School Experiences Office (SEO) about the Candidate's performance with reference to the
practicum expectations for the identified practicum course. This evaluation is written by the Faculty Advisor, with
input from the Cooperating Teacher(s) and the Teacher Candidate. It is not intended to be used as a reference
letter. The candidate's final course grade is determined by the Director, SEO.

‘Students were very comfortable approaching Alyssa with questions. She did an excellent job answering
all their questions. She did a great job circulating around the room.
‘Alyssa took the time to really understand the course content. Her preparation was evident.
‘She covered all of the outcomes of the units, The students did very well on the assessments.
She fulfiled all the clerical duties such as attendance and entering in students assessments results
‘Alyssa has developed a strong awareness of the diverse, multi-cultural nature of the students in the
classroom. She is aware of the many needs students have (language, behaviour, academic etc.)
‘Alyssa continued to use and maintain classroom routines that | had established with the students. She
Continued to use fin the blank style notes, continued to show a variely of videos that related to the
‘content of the lessons and continued to offer lunch time/email support to students who were having
dificulties.
Alyssa! transition into the classroom was a very smooth one, She observed lessons as | was teaching
‘and did not hesitate to circulate and help students when the lesson portion of the class was complete,
(Once Alyssa started to teach lessons, the students were comfortable with her and respected her as the
authority figure in the room,
‘Students were able to approach Alyssa with questions and concems and she was very good at helping
students and directing them to the correct outcomes without outright giving students the answers to
‘questions,
Alyssa has shown a great interest in learning about Biology subject matter, curriculum, day-to-day
classroom activities, the science department and the whole school community.
