How To Create A Westok Cellular Beam Family File in Revit
How To Create A Westok Cellular Beam Family File in Revit
3. The family type input parameters dialogue will be displayed (see overleaf):
a. Select ‘Rename’ and enter the name of the beam (family type.)
b. For more than one beam, select ‘New’ and enter the names of the new beams.
c. The current beam can be selected for editing using the drop down list.
d. The required beam parameters are given in the table below.
e. The family type will be used to create individual instances of that beam type.
The parameters ‘Length (default)’ and ‘S1’ will be adjusted by the Revit
technician to suit each instance.
f. The number of cells is automatically calculated by the family.
4. WARNING – The parametric file will carry out some checks, but it is possible to create
Westok cellular beams in Revit that cannot be fabricated using the patented Westok
profiling process, which introduces certain geometric restrictions in terms of maximum
and minimum possible tee depths, cell diameter and spacing etc from the parent sections
used to form the beam. It is recommended that all Westok beam family file requests are
modelled in our Cellbeam software as a check. We will be reviewing the family file as
part of the v11 Cellbeam developments.
