RangeShifter workshop:

a platform for computer-aided spatial

ecological modelling

January 17-19, 2018

Bariloche, Argentina

Workshop leaders: Prof. Justin Travis,

Rebekka Allgayer (PhD), Dr. Aurore Ponchon
Days 1/2: an introduction to the use of the RangeShifter software for simulating spatial
ecology and eco-evolutionary dynamics

• Lectures introducing key concepts and practicals focussed around the core RangeShifter
tutorials
• Opportunity to work individually or in groups on your own data/system/questions and
the RangeShifter team will provide technical and conceptual guidance

Day 3: introduce new functionality that is already available in a Beta version of RangeShifter
v2.0

• Continue project work

• Introduce functionality for neutral and adaptive genetics and the ability to incorporate
dynamically changing landscapes
• Highlight current development activities that include adding prospecting behaviour and
pelagic dispersal as well as a project that is just starting that will add functionality for
seasonal migration.
