Sample Treatment
9 samples of 6 apples created randomly from the 3 bags purchased.
9 samples of 15 carrots created randomly from the 3 bags purchased.
Samples were placed on trial bench for several hours prior to juicing to allow them to reach ambient
temperature. Ambient temperature monitored using a calibrated thermometer.
Whole apples taken plus a section to create a 500g sample for each juicing.
Whole carrots taken plus a section to create a 500g sample for each juicing.
500g selection of carrot or apple was lightly washed with distilled water prior to juicing
Juicing conducted on whole apple and whole carrot except for Slow Juicer (Slow Juicer could not accommodate
whole apple)
Juice collected into preweighed collection vessel. Dissolved oxygen sample taken and measurement performed
directly after physical measurements made.
