The Alcatel-Lucent 5060 Media Gateway Controller-10 (MGC-10) provides the network control and signaling
functionalities for Class 4 or trunk services in next-generation networks (NGNs), evolving fixed circuit-based
voice services to packet-based services. The 5060 MGC-10 controls the media gateways (MGWs) that convert
bearer traffic between Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) networks.
