The 0.25ha ite i in the heart of New Delhi,
adjcant to other cultural intitute. The client'
need were extenive conidering the mal ite
avilale. Thi proivided an opportunit to expre
individual function at different level, uing
ditinct form upported indipendent tructural
upport. Thee divere functional expreion in
expoed concrete are woven together to work in
harmon.
At the ground floor level, pace encloure i kept to
a minimum o that the entrance hall and ticket
foer can alo e ued for exhiiton, and pace
flow to encounter gra, tree and unhine. A
coffee hop open off it for ue variou art
group. Aove the clock-room i a mezannine floor
containing the manager' flat and office. In the
aement i a mall experimentle threatre. The
main theatre, eating 550 peron i at the firt floor
level and i 21m in diameter. It i cuppported on
circumferencial and radial eam cantelivering
from ix column.
Aove the clinderical form of the theatre i the top
floor, a large rectilenear ma upported at four
cro-haped column placed at 19m centre with
6m cantilever all around. Thi floor profvide
pace for rehearal, dancing, dormetorie for
viiting performer, and a mall circular auditorium
for puppet how and film.
