Roster
Head Coach
Tom VanWienen
Coach VanWienen enters his 2nd year as the head coach at Kellogg Community College.
He is no stranger to the volleyball world. Coach VanWienen comes to KCC after 15 years of
coaching volleyball in high school. After successful stints at Pennfield and Climax-Scotts
High Schools, he has amassed close to 500 high school wins that rank him in the top 25
winningest high school coaches in the state of Michigan.
Coach VanWienen also has over 20 years coaching AAU club volleyball at the local and
national level. His AAU success is highlighted with winning the Asics Junior Championship
in 2012 and many local and regional tournaments.
Coach VanWienen is excited in following in the footsteps of collegiate Hall of Fame Bruin
volleyball coaches Mick Haley and John Knott. His goals are to return the Bruins to being
competitive on the court and back to the top ranks in the league. When he is not coaching
volleyball, he enjoys time with his family. He has been married to Jonna for over 14 years
and has two daughters; Allison, age 11 and Kate, age 10.
Assistant Coach
Brad Myers
Coach Myers enters his 15th year as an assistant coach for the Lady Bruins Volleyball team.
Brad coached 8 years under the NJCAA Hall of Fame coach John Knott and returned to the
Bruins as an assistant 7 years ago. His experience in coaching makes him an important
part of the volleyball team with the recruitment of superior student-athletes to the Bruin
squad.
Coach Myers lives in the Battle Creek area. He also has duties within the KCC Athletic
Department as the NJCAA Statistical supervisor and his CDL driver’s license makes him
invaluable to the Bruins across all our athletic programs when traveling.
Coach Greene starts her 2nd year as an assistant volleyball coach for the Bruins. She is
a native to the Battle Creek area. She graduated from Galesburg-Augusta High School
in 2010. She attended Northern Michigan University on a volleyball scholarship before
Assistant Coach returning to the area to play volleyball and basketball for KCC. After KCC she finished her
volleyball playing career at Northwood University.
Chelsea Greene
Coach Greene has five years of volleyball coaching experience. She has experience
coaching for area AAU volleyball clubs: Redline, Mid-Michigan, and Michigan Elite. She
has coached all ages but most recently has been coaching the 18U team for Michigan Elite.
